I know its very early days, but I'm wishing now I'd backed Bradley for the PGA money list on his own at 100/1 and not just part of a double. Doubt I'll see those odds again!

I did some bet in play last night as well. I stayed up to watch a bit of the golf, then realised I wasn't tired so was still up at about 2.30!

Shame Keegan Bradley couldn't capitalise on his eagle @ 9 but when he bogeys the next hole you know its not going to be his day.

There were about 4 or 5 tied for the lead at one stage so I had a look through their last few days to see who had the best back 9's. Johnson Wagner by far had the best back 9's and also looked very calm while all the others were losing their heads. Just as I was looking at this he held a birdie to take the lead on his own so I quickly put £20 on at 3/1. I stayed watching it and by far he looked the most solid. I checked the odds again a couple of holes later and he was still @ 2/1. I couldn't see anyone putting up a fight so I put another £50 on him. Shortly after that they put up a caption which showed how much better Wagner had been performing on the back 9 compared to everyone else and his odds suddenly went down to 11/8. So timed it right!

Nice little return of £230 (160 profit)

    This weeks bets:

    European tour:

Thomas Aiken has been very consistant recently, especially while over in SA, so I think he is a good shout to scoop the lot this week. 18/1 is an OK price although not great.

Alex Noren is a very good player, and capable of winning anything when he plays his best game. Hopefully the rest has done him good and I think he will come out fireing in his 1st tournament on the season. 25/1 is a decent price

    Thomas Aiken - 18/1 - win only £10
    Alex Noren - 25/1 - win only £10

    PGA Tour

Carl Petterson had a very good final round and is looking very dangerous, he finished very well after having a double bogie early in the round as well as a bogie free 1st round. 45/1 very good price.

Jason Dufner has been up there and challenging quite often towards the end of the season last year, and is always a threat. @ 66/1 thats very juicey!

Matt Kuchar is the best player in the field and if he plays well he shouldn't have a lot of problems this week, but he hasn't played much at the end of last year and maybe a bit rusty. Can't turn him down at 16/1.

    Carl Petterson - 45/1 - £7.50 e/w
    Jason Dufner - 66/1 - £7.50 e/w
    Matt Kuchar - 16/1 - win only £15

Forgot to put my selections up last week but fwiw I backed Johnson and Sabbatini(both average) so this week I'l put mine up early so I dont forget.

    PGA TOUR
C.Howell@25/1 £5 e/w -Overdue a win as was very consistent towards end of last year and started well this.Admittedly finds it hard to win when pressure on but hey-ho.
B.Cauley@66/1 £2.50e/w -Only 21 but got a big future ahead of him and would sooner back him at that price then one of the older guys like Mickleson at a fifth of the price.

    PGA Tour - Humana Challenge

Bill Haas -  Winner of this in '10 and runner up last year.

John Rollins - Excellent week last week where hhe improved on his score in all four rounds. A previous runner up here too. Decent price.

    European Tour - Volvo Champions

Robert Karlsson - Top 5 finish last here last year and a class act.

Mateo Manassero - Top 15 here last year. Should be a big year for him too and will be looking to start the year well to give himself a great chance of making the Ryder Cup team later in the year.

    Good luck with your bets.

Glad the golf season is up and running and really like your posts Splashies to see who you think is good value.
Just wondering who you all think maybe the Player who really comes good this season.
I just have a sneaky feeling that it maybe the season for RICKIE FOWLER. Didnt play last week and noticed he isnt in the field this week tho. Injured perhaps ?.
Won Rookie of the year 2010 and its time to get consistent and step up to the mark.

Fowler will be playing for the first time nest week, at the Farmers Insurance Open. He needs to really kick on this year and get his first win under his belt.

For me, the player who will make a big breakthrough this year will be Gary Woodland. Jackda mentioned his name in an earlier post too.

    Going to go for

    Carl Petterson and
    Brandt Snedeker  both e/w

Petterson seems to perform consistent and always like backing Snedeker. He is a bit streaky but can be very hot

Well Aiken has totally self combusted in the last 2 days and Noren has missed the chance to close the gap. Really frustating when you see the leaders keep struggling but your golfers can't put a few birdies together too take control! :(

On the flip side, after day1 I think all 3 of my golfers on the PGA tour were only on -1 and way back, but Jason Dufner has put a couple of really good rounds together and is now in contention to win it providing the top couple of golfers stutter a bit like they so often do under pressure. Goodluck Jason. £7.50 e/w @ 66/1 to win the lot = happy Flashy

Snedeker was a real let down 4 me on the final round.

Stuffed one in the water then missed 2  4 footers then didnt really do anything
Thought he was going to walk it when he got to -20 but thats what you get by backing him i guess.
Blows red hot or stone cold
