1. Looks fine, if he had more you could possibly fold to shove.
2. Initial raise should be a bit more at least 16p at NL4, when he 3bets you it's a snap fold, KJ is a decent raising hand but you don't want to be calling OOP with it as most flops you will be check-folding and losing money. As played you ot lucky and played it well from there but still a fold pre.
3. Yep arise again on flop looking to get it in. Bet pot on river.
4. Fold or raise preflop, OOP I prefer a fold. Flop is just a cooler.
5. I like to reshove here as it gets others out the way, if you call like here then it is to induce others into the pot and you HAVE to call if they shove.
Just completed my 2nd session of the day. (£1.10 Deepstack and 2 NL4 cash tables) Cash table 1) Early top-up of £1, then ran my bankroll up to £7.12 in a 2 hour grind. Profit of +£2.12 Cash table 2) Another early top-up of £2.86, where i was rivered, but as played i shouldn't have paid of his river value bet (hand below). 2 hours later i had gained a few BB's back for the end of the session. Profit of -£2.11 Tournament table 3) This was the £1.10 £100 guarenteed deep stack which i'm looking to play every day, if possible. Didn't start well with me being 50% of my stack down by level 3. However, i doubled up through a large stack with my first ROYAL FLUSH ever, the board shown a flush on the river, and the opponent didn't believe my over bet shove, with the 10 of diamonds i took the pot down. After a little bit of card dead syndrome a hand was played where i gained a healthy sized pot, when i flopped top pair and an ace high flush draw, by the turn the chips went in and i was looking at a king high flush draw, the river came the flush for both, which won me the pot with the absolute nuts. I was still however fairly below average chips and needed to hit a few hands, however a good read by myself picked of a big river bluff with 3rd pair to the board, seeing me become 10th out of around 40 remaining players. I then survived to the money bubble of 20th, and then found myself in the top 10 with average stack, stealing blinds as i went along. As the 3rd hour of play arose and chipstacks where relatively low compared to blinds, my final hand was upon me, with 12 big blinds i 3bet shoved the chip leader with KK's preflop, to be beaten by a set of QQ's. The hand pretty much played itself. i finished 8th out of 102 competitors for a £4.08 cash. Look forward to the same tournament tomorrow, with the hope of going one step further. Profit of +£2.98

4) Am i okay to get it in here with 2nd pair and a flush draw on the flop, given i'm only being called by an Ace, i must be 50-50 here, with 2pair and trips outs to?
I'm on a pretty similar bankroll to you at the moment. However, you seem to be playing more cash whereas I'm playing mainly low stakes DYM's and the odd £2.30 BH, so will be interesting to compare my diary thread to yours and see which is the best way of building a bankroll.
Without wanting to de-rail your thread, what's Maths @ Uni like? I'm still at College atm, will be applying for Uni next year, and thinking of doing a Maths degree.
Thank you i've played you a few times, here and there. Had a little look at your thread and i'm keen to see how you progress to. I'm waiting till i reach £110 before i play DYM's, starting of at £3.30's to avoid the bigger rake.
My maths degree isn't the easiest, its a huge jump from a-level maths, but if you enjoy maths and have a good knowledge of it then go for it. I'm only just getting to grips with the pace of it all.
Maybe, we could challenge each other to see who meets a certain bankroll target first?
Good luck with the bankroll challenge and with college work. See you on the tables.

Yeah, I'm up for that, even though I'll probably lose, lol. I probably make most of my money from rakeback, so getting to any target might take me a while :P
After another hourly mid day session sat at the cash tables heres how i got on: Cash table 1) After winning 3 decent sized pots late on in the session (+£2.14, +£1.94 and +£0.83) i sat out with a stack of £7.88. Profit of +£3.88 Cash table 2) It seems like i lost little pots over and over on this table, mainly with check folding flops that i didn't hit, made a nice bluff catcher call with Ace high on a double paired board to take down a 30BB pot. Profit of -£0.10 Cash table 3) A weird table where i was down through most of the session here, but then turned it around with a late flourish at the end. A weird hand played out where i got check raised on the river with top pair top kicker that i was sure was good, i folded and was down by £1, a few mistakes from my opponents and some kickers over kickers in my favour saw me leave with £5. Profit of £1

5) weird hand where he had min raised me on the turn before, so i though i'd call and see what he did on the river, should i have called his bluff on the river, given his small bet?

I've ditched the idea of playing heads up, deep stacks and DYM's as i'm enjoying cash so much and making nice hourly profits. Can any one encourage me to bring some other types back into my game?
Hiya mate, my only advice would be to use hands played as opposed to time played as this is a guarenteed figure that is set in stone, judging time is often tricky and mistakes are made. Also with bb/100 hands you get a good idea of how your doing e.g I think around 5bb/100 is actually quite decent.
comment noted, however how would i be able to judge how many hands i've played an hour, wouldn't that be just as tricky as working out how many hours ive played per table? I've got a pretty efficient process with working out how long i'm at a table for, obv course o've got to give or take a little bit. I've took average hands as 90 per hour and added the following to my spreadsheet:
NL4
Minutes played:
3456
Hours played:
57.60
Profit:
£33.91
Hands played
5184
Profit/hour:
£0.59
BB/hour:
14.72
£/100:
65.4%
BB/100:
16.35
Hopefully when i reach around 50k hands i would have a reasonable sample size to work out approximate win rates, so my 155BB/100 maybe a little skewed, but still decent with approx 5k hands.
I presume you're playing NL4 if so then for every 1 point you earn you've played 10 hands, so always make a note of your points before you start then just do some math or rather let your calculator do it lol.
E.g. you start on 340 points and finish on 369 means you've played 290 hands.
Also if you play MTT/STT these poinst should be taken away so figures aren't distorted etc.
But don't you only get contribution towards for the hands you contribute to the pot. So for example if i open fold UTG, that wouldn't be counted as a 'hand' as i haven't contributed anything to the pot.
