hey, i totally agree with the original point in this thread. well said. please remember everyone here started as a 'newbee' unsure of where to go what to ask etc. the best way for this community to grow and get better is to help others and answer questions... no matter how trivial they may seem.

    Hi Rich

I have said this before and Ill say it again, no question is a trivial qestion, or stupid question, to someone out here its a big problem or they wouldnt ask :)

    Cheers m8

Hi acesover8s if i get very lucky in a hand i do apologise to the other player. Sure, I am glad I won the hand and wouldnt want to change the outcome, so strictly speaking I am not sorry, but I dont think typing "sorry" is hypocritical. I think most players on here understand that when someone says sorry after dishing out a bad beat, they are really saying "unlucky, i was way behind and got lucky" but the word sorry is a pretty economic way of doing so. I dont think the use of the word sorry should be taken quite so literally. Ray

That is exactly what i meant, couldn't think of the best way to put it! i am glad i finished on top, but if you've been on the end of a bad beat then you know how they feel :) point well made!!

Hi everyone, havent read all the posts on this topic but  im for abusing Orford lol.
As for everyone else, poker should be enjoyed without abuse, either at the table or in the forum.
Im new to the forum so will be looking around before posting, incase things have already been asked, but im sure most people wont mind helping newbies out by answering again to previously  discussed items.
    See you at the tables.
P.S., came third on sunday in the 1k guarenteed @ 9pm. Had i thought about my hand that i went out on im sure i wouldve won the heads up. But im still learning and as long as i remember my mistakes im going to be winning soon. :)

In Response to Re: NEW POSTERS : with you on that rich! the only thing i personally find offensive are these posts that the sky poker is fixed! i just find these posts shumerical at best and cannot help but have a pop as it is just abhorent to think the site is fixed! and bad beats is just laughable, i am a newbie and to poker too it's not rocket science is it? ;)

i know where you are coming from but as long as we are offering a poker service some will say how we are rigged, fixed etc. all we can do is shuffle them over to area 51.

Interesting discussion about 'apologising' after giving out a bad beating. Just had a situation in a game on another site where I called an all in preflop with a fair amount behind with AJ, turned out I was against Kings - Flop came spade spade spade, we both had one but unfortunately for me it was my jack. Ace of another suit came on the turn putting me ahead, river was a spade and he got a double up. Then the guy types sorry into the chat box!

As I said to him - You were ahead when the money went in! What order the cards come out in doesn't make any difference

Great Table that, eh? I got a little lucky that night.

Cotmanhay, a nice place to live? Err, yes. That's "nice" in inverted commas, I guess.....

I'm still "next door" in Ilkeston, (Shipley, if I wanna sound posh), having escaped from London 30 years ago. Oddly, I now spend 5 or more nights a week in London. Full circle & all that.

    Hi Buisty

as per my response to margate below i don't really mind when people say sorry, the dealer at the blackpool g casino did when he told me to give the money back though lol
Lol say sorry for being a luck box if you like Margate, i just wanted an excuse to use the phrases "if your that sorry give the money back" and "you pays your money you takes your chance", so few opportunities present themselves where i can slip these corkers into everyday conversation :)

As a new player at Sky Poker, I have in the main found the forums and other players friendly and helpful.

In the forum, there has been some really good chat and as a newbie to the site, a lot of good advice from more experienced players. For that I thank you.

I do tend to use the chat function during games, but found very little chat going on. When that is the case, I tend to switch away from it and start tralling through other sites or the forum.   If I get lucky I say so. Will sigh or lol if the situation warrants it, but have found that very few people respond.  When you split a pot because you are both sitting with a starting hand of QQ, as was the case recently in a tournament, it was a delight for a positive response to my lol.

It was really pleasing to see my "friend" reach the final table and I was hoping that it would be the two of us to play off. It wasn't. My point is it made the experience of playing more fun, friendly and an enjoyable experience.

    Please talk more in games.

    hi aces

thanks for your reply. i hadnt heard that response you got from the dealer at the casino and it is kind of funny.  like you say, he probably says it every night!

Its probably worth remembering that there are enough poor comments made by players in the chat box at times, that a sorry is a nice change.

BACK TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION I AGREE THAT POST SHOULD BE ANSWERED CURTIOUSLY, THINK THE THREAD YOU ARE REFERING TO MAYBE THE SKY POKER IS FIXED ONE (NOW IN AREA 51) BY TUCKER.
I MUST ADMIT MY ANSWERS MAY HAVE BEEN A LITTLE SARCASTIC BUT IF YOU WANT TO START A DISCUSSION BY SAYING THIS SITE IS FIXED OFFERING UP SOME RANDOM FIGURE TO BACK IT UP, YOU SHOULD EXPECT A LITTLE SCEPTACISM IN REPLYS.
I ENJOY READING PEOPLE OPINION ON HOW HANDS WERE PLAYED AS THERE ARE ALWAY SO MANY OPINIONS BUT IF YOUR GOING TO COME ON AND RANT LIKE A PR*T YOU DESERVE TO HAVE THAT FACT YOU ARE A PR*T POINTED OUT TO YOU
