In Response to Re: Time4Timed : There are other sites? I'm not sure that the "other site" updates the Chip Equity value after every hand, though..... Posted by Tikay10
no, it doesn't indeed, super and genius touch that is
No, but I have a small (2x3) Excel spreadsheet open at the same time and it only takes 2 seconds to type my chip count into a cell for it to show the equity. Posted by FCHD
That works, too, but your chip value IS shown, updated after every hand, in real time, in the Lobby under "Blinds & Prize Structure".
This IS NOT a criticism, just an observation. Not sure if these are planned like this, but there is no 'clock' on the last level. Yes, you can time the last 5 mins yourself I know, but the no clock was not known until I played one so just enquiring whether this could be looked at after the trial.
HI Tikay, THese look great! JUst a thought...and don't shoot the messenger! What about a timed "mystery" tourney every so often? e.g. it stops at either 30, 40, 50 or 60 mins?
pad p.s. Hope you enjoyed Ratagan BTW? And saw the sign for GLenelg?

I have no idea if that is do-able, Alan, but the suits will be reviewing this thread in the morning, so we may know more then.
Essentially, the Tourney ceases EXACTLY x minutes (x varies) after it commences, so I would have thought it was adequate, but I'm easily pleased.

Well let's get the "basic" ones established first, Pad, before adding bells & whistles.
I'd, personally, not be in favour, though. There is a particular skillset required in these, & the unknown duration would mitigate against that completely.
Ratagan? Never enjoyed anything so much in my life, Xmas was bliss up there, no internet, 'phone signal, or TV.
I visited Glenelg several times, too, & loved it. I have hundreds of photgraphs of the trip, which I Posted on my Online Diary (elsewhere), but I think most peeps would find them a little boring, otherwise, I'd stick them in a Sky Poker Blog. My holiday photos are not exactly everyone's cup of tea, eh?

Alan,
Re my earlier reply to this, I have had some clarification from upstairs.
Apparently, there are built-in messages sent to ALL Tables to indicate......
10 minutes remaining.
5 minutes remaining.
1 minute remaining.
The actual message sent is.....
"This is a timed tournament which ends in XXX minutes/seconds. The more chips you have when it finishes the bigger your cash prize! View the blinds and prize section of the lobby pop-up to see your current position"
A "countdown clock" on the Tables has been designed, but takes a fair bit of coding to add. Therefore, they'll wait & see if these Timed Tourneys attract reasonable traffic before deciding whether to implement. It IS in the "Road Map", though, & currently scheduled for early summer. (A lot of other new stuff is scheduled between now & then, so it has to "get in the queue"!).
A quick tip for knowing, quickest & easiest, your chip equity (in money) is to go to "Blinds & Prize Structure" in the Tourney Lobby and then SORT BY CHIP STACKS.

Yes, absolutely but I was referring to "the other site", As a result, the Sky interface is better.

I realised that after misreading your first post and writing a spreadsheet to do it for me!
I got a top 8 time in this tournament. What do I win? ;-)
Ok £3.30 inc rake entry , cashed for £1.86 loss of £1.44 . Tried to play this like a 30 min cash game not a tournament whereas 100 chips = 10p . Only had a couple of playable hands though the half hour goes by quick . Chipleader took home £24 so not a bad return for £3 for a half hour . Will try a few more of these and see how they go .
its basically a cash game for a fixed amount of time, but the blinds go up.. lots of fun but not proper poker imo.. like i said lots of fun so i will be playing alot of them, just my opinion
no need to force the action towards end by making the blinds "all in" or fold.. fact that chips = money means that the play would be fast enough without being forced!! hope im not alone in thinking this

posted this after my 1st game.... played 3 now and changed my view.. just about right imo.. love them. hope they are here to stay

I understand what you are saying re: it is clear how long the tourney is ie XXmins or 6 levels etc. My point, and I hope I am not alone on this one, is I really feel there is a need for a 'countdown clock' as well. I appreciate there are pop up reminders but with said clock, it could make all the difference if you have a big decision to make if it is say 10sec to go or 40sec and you are in the BB next and are short.
I have cashed in 2/2 so far but I just think this would be a useful addition when playing in a 'timed' tournament to know where you are at all times esp the crucial end bit.

Clock at the end level would be nice though.
enjoyed it - also great if you fancy a quick game but don't want a late night.
