What is happening to all the low priced poker tourneys?

Bit by bit all the £2.30 and £2.40 tourneys are being replaced by £5 plus poker tourneys.  A lot of us like to play but cannot afford to play 2 or 3 £5 plus tourneys a night. I love playing the 20:05 £600 Bounty Hunter - this has now disappeared.

I have always defended Sky Poker when people tell me its just a money making machine, but I am now beginning to believe them - they are taking away all th low money tourneys.

Sky forget the smaller players right across the board in my opinion, cash 4 points (no more freerolls for 250 - 499 points  above 2/4p cash happy hour,  and now smaller buy in tourneys going by the wayside.

Oh to have bigger bankrolls eh?

Wouldn't class myself as a microstakes player (yet) but I agree with all above posts, it's just so wrong.

Esepcially as the micro guys have to pay more rake.

Thing is there will always be tonnes of micro players who will contine to play and not know any different, they're prob new to poker (or new to online poker) so they can get away with whatever they want really.

The dym rake @ micros situation is criminal.

The happy hour excluding nl4 probably more so.

    Completely agree.

I cannot think of one possible reason for why they would not include 4NL in the happy hour (not a good one anyway), and yeah the rake at low stakes DYMs is scandalous.

I didn't realise low stakes tourneys were disappearing though, that's crazy. They better not get rid of the £1 and £2 deepstacks!

Hi there, I think this must have been an oversight testerday, may have head something to do with all the new timed tourneys starting, and I notice that both the 7.45 £1.10 DS and the 8.05 £2.30BH are back in the lobby tonight

Even if its a purely business measure, discouraging newbies, micro players, and small BR's haniging around seems incredibly short sighted at best, and uber stupid at worst!

After all, almost all the money is filtered upwards and through to sky from these levels anyway!

You'd think more entrance level players, not less, would be the way to go?

The more I learn about the game and the cost of playing. the more I look at how other poker rooms compare.

Not that anyone gives a monkeys about that I'm sure,..... just my two pennies worth.

    Z.

It's bad at every stake, on other sites i've played it's 8% :/

Many times it's made me think of moving, Sky are not going to increase as much as they like with the above standard rake.

EVEN WORSE their excuse for having 75p rake on the £5 bounty hunters... Because they are popular or whatever, they are restricting their growth of regular players.

all the time you all still play them they will keep the ridic rake charges especially on such a low edge game like dym's

it doesnt matter what tpe of game you play at low levels the rake is increased. NL4 NL8 and i think NL10( would have to double check last 1) at raked at 7.5% in cash games. dym are raked 15%  20%, n bounty hunters run at 15%

Posted by TINTIN[/QUOTand Barnsies point is  , if  people  didnt play them , then they would  have to look at enticing  low end players  in witha  better rake ...so ure point  is ??

Whoa I didn't no that about 75p at the £5 BH... I don't really play many MTTs so don't even look at them in the lobby. But that is scandalous and an outragous reason for it.

Wow amazing how many people are angry at this, the high rake at the low tourneys i can live with but the fact that micro players dont get in on the happy hour is a complete joke.  Should be for all or none.

Its a shame because this site has got so many things right but i have to say this is really annoying me, why should i be less entitled to the happy hour.

also I wonder why none of the sky team have responded to this thread?  im sure all the people playing the nl4 and 8 would like to know why we are excluded.

Anyway i have to point out that this isnt a complete bit*" at the site like i have said they have done so may things right, but sky would do well to remember that many of the players only play at the low levels and im sure make up a large number of players on the site.
