Alright peeps!
Hope you're enjoying the snow. Or should that be slush?
Also, hope you're liking Sky Poker's all-new look. We've had two great shows so far and tomorrow night (Tuesday) I finally enter the fray.
Yes, it's Richard Orford with uber-player/analyst Ryan Spittles (Scotty77).
What does Ryan bring to the party? He plays and wins on the site every single day. He knows Sky Poker inside out. So when he says something, listen up, because he knows. He's on the frontline every day and walks the walk. He's also part of the new generation of players who will help you develop your game and take it to the next level with all the latest thinking and strategy.
We're here from 7pm LIVE for 5 hours of pokertainment.
Joining us from 8 is poker pro Ross Jarvis.
Ross is another top expert in his field, producing heavyweight articles on poker for the likes of PokerPlayer magazine and making a living at the mid-stakes cash tables. He's an extraordinarily articulate proponent of the game. Make sure you heed his words.
He's also a previous winner of a Sky Poker Tour leg- Luton 2010. So he's no pushover at the live game either, as many of you have found out!
The guys will be looking at your hands from 8- so fire them in on here and via email skyopen@bskyb.com plus of course via Twitter. Just stick the hand i.d. no down followed by #skypokertv
The best question for Ross or hand sent in for him to analyse via email/post/tweet will win free entry to the £6000 Wednesday Night 8pm Doublestack Main Event.
So get writing asap!
Also in the mix tomorrow night- an hour from 9-10pm of Sky Poker School where we'll be tackling the fundamentals of cash poker.
From 10pm-11pm it's all the poker news you can handle and more in The Rail and Chat Box where we'll have players on the phone and be discussing the forthcoming WSOP, the latest drama from Full Tilt and the shocking news that Daniel Negreanu's poker account got hacked and whoever it was, played terribly! It wasn't me,guv, honest!
And then from 11 till midnight- it's all cash baby- with lots of fresh hands from that night's Mastercash tables!
And as a side-topic: with all the snow meaning that maybe you will have stayed in the warm these past few days and hit the baize: do you think that poker is seasonal? Are there certain times of the year or the month where you play more than other times? And why? When's the juicest time to play on Sky Poker- do share!
So- that's...
New-look Sky Poker LIVE on 865 TUESDAY night 7pm to midnight.
Be there- it's going to be immense!
Comments
So if i turn a set against a tight player, should i generally be betting out for value, re-raising the turn or waiting until the river to make my move?
pomfrittes is the greatest!
PS - You should write Orford's scripts.
How many times are we told ; In the long run you will lose if you keep playing rubbish cards, but when you fold them the 6-2 off brings trips on the flop and full house on the river. Why not play these hands, if I'm a Donk then I'm a winning Donk.!!!
Also, noticed on last nights show that your guest Luke Schwarts called the turn card on the Flop before it arrived. Quote; "It's usually a 4 or 5 of hearts on the turn."! Un-Quote. Can this be predicted in on line Poker, will the RNG pop out predictable cards that you can rely on.? Is it easier to predict them on line than in live play.? I sit here willing the card to hit and make my straight, full house, but end up with a brick, many more and I can build a real house. Have a great show as I will be watching for any mistakes. Hugs Annie xx
I'm looking forward to watching the show (on sky+ as I will be working until 8.30) as I always learn new things when Ryan analysis poker and I love reading Ross's articles and Rich, well, errmmmmm, you're the best ex big breakfast presenter on sky poker.
My question for Ross and Ryan is how long do you think you should play poker for before you have a five minute break to relax.
Have fun and run well
