I think that sky probably has the best rewards value for micro players then most other sites out there.

I don't think you can include affiliate rakeback schemes as bonuses from main sites.

Micro players are also rewarded in other ways such as getting their hands reviewed and lots of free advice by the analysts and presenters of 865 as well as special guests giving really high level analysis.

If you look at 'stars for example even though the rake is lower at 2nl/5nl you have to play alot of volume now to make silverstar, and even then unless you are using your fpps for sats and claiming the T$ back then the rakeback scheme is terrible for the micros. It only really begins to be worth it at platinumstar+

In Response to Re: Sky Pokers terrible reward system. : There is still value in allowing respected players to correct misconceptions about the site, as is shown here. Looks like every issue has been addressed apart from promotional bonuses for redepositing. I have played on various sites and some I have chosen not to continue with for different reasons. But all of those have contacted me offering bonuses if I redeposit, and I am sure Sky is exactly the same. You say that the promotion offered bonuses of £2 -£100 but you only received the minimum. These bonuses are normally graduated, the amount given decided by the volume of poker played in a specified period. So if you only make a minimum deposit, and lose it quickly, you only qualify for the minimum bonus. But if you can build your deposit to a level where you can play more you will receive more bonus. Nobody forces you to take up these offers, but if you do you should read the T+Cs before criticising.

Again, I understand no one forces me to take up these offers. Way to point out the obvious.

What I didnt like about the £2 -£100 bonus offer is that it is clearly a way to try and mislead the players. If I had just got one mail offering a 2 pound bonus thats fair enough, but why must they try and trick you.

Now im not aware of the exact offer you are reffering to but there is a clue in the

    £2 to £100 part.

Yes, you guessed it, the £2!

Hardly misleading is it, or a trick...

Like  Solarcarro said, if you have genuine concerns about the site and feedback for sky, contact them through the appropriate channels. Venting on the forum is just going to annoy people, and i expect that is your sole aim!

Anyway, as i said before, good luck in finding a site suitable for your needs. I am sorry that is not Sky, but no-one is forcing you to play here!

i have always been happy with my time on sky, but...

hasnt the new cash for points system got worse for most lower stakes?
    didnt it use to be 500pts £5, 1000pts £15, 2000 pts £30?
now you recieve less even though there are more low stakes games and full tables than ever (in my time)

    1000pts £10, 2000pts £24-

    am i rembering this wrong?

wow another moan thread, the solution is simple.. go play somewhere else if you feel so strongly about it, it is what it is and that's that. Sky try and improve things all the time and they can't please everyone, if there are these other sites that offer much better rake back then go and play there!

If you look at the old tier system for 950 points you would have got £5.

Under the new system I think you get £7.60.

    So it varies.

Why are so many people giving the OP such a hard time? Any comments considered critical in any way always seem to get jumped on.

He's got a point. I've played here for years, and on many other sites too. On other sites I occasionally get an email giving me a free £20 bet on the football or whatever, yet from Sky - not a peep. Despite making substantial bets on skybet I get nothing back from them either.
On a wider point, I've also got sky TV, sky talk, sky broadband and subscribe to several sky TV channels. You'd think I'd be classed as one of their valued clients. Yet do I really feel valued as a customer? Well, no, to be honest, I don't.

"If you're not happy then go somewhere else" is the usual reply. If I said that to one of my customers, I'd get fired and rightly so. The overall customer care of the Sky group simply isn't good enough. They get away with it because their products are good, but that isn't a sustainable way to go. The others are catching up quick.

^ if you put £10 for 5 days you get a free £5 bet so basically £20 free bets a month or £20 off your sky bill

I got this email as well and it was clearly not like the deposit bonuses of other sites where you what you get is based on how much you play it's just random.

I was tempted to deposit the £5 and then just withdraw it again and get my free money cos it was money completely for free, but I was too lazy and never got round to it, don't see how you can complain really.

And it's gonna be like any promotion/prize of this sort, not just on poker sites, but things like if you fill up at a BP garage you'll get bonus Nectar points, it's probably gonna be like 3 people get the £100, 5 get £75, 10 get £50, 20 get £25, 50 get £10 and everyone else gets £2 so yeah it's fair to assume that you are more than likely gonna get £2 which ok is a bit rubbish but it's 100% free. I play with my own bankroll created by playing so if you do this, there's no harm in depositing for the bonus then withdrawing it back

Please take note The Sky Poker Community is not a replacement for Customer Care. Nor is it a place to air specific grievances with the service or product. If you have any issues regarding your account, (i.e., Cash for Points, bonus offer or tournament token queries) direct these to Customer Care, not on the forum or PMs to Moderators. Details for Customer Care can be found at the bottom of the page.

Pretty harsh, a post like this may begin with a small moan but the information from other posts has been great and informative, we should all be encouraged to post.

I dont know why people on this forum take my comments as a personal insult, small minded I guess.

Its a fact that sky poker reward system is poor. Look at the five year celebration for example. Most other pokersites would at least give a deposit bonus as a celebration but sky pokers so called promotions over this period are laughable, almost non existent.
Every play should be rewarded greatly for helping sky poker do well, not the minority who luck a tourney. Sky give measily promotions and hype them up to the max on their tv channel.

Thats my opinion and I would like to see more rewards to the players.

Why ? There are many of us players who are actually celebrating 5 happy years with Sky. And for many of us a deposit bonus has no relevance or interest,

The fact is you got a £2 bonus, and now claim you were tricked and misled. Get real, poker is like life, it rewards winners more than the rest.

    Spad3s,

You're more than entitled to your opinion and I believe most people on the forum understand your position. Obviously they might not agree with it, but the one thing I think we can all agree on is we know where you stand on it.

I'm closing the thread as frankly I think both sides of the argument have made their point fully enough.

Good luck at whichever poker tables you choose to sit at.
