I'm a little conscience-stricken that someone - very reasonably, politely & fairly - noted my absence from last night's TOTTY. I want to try & knock up a Blog, as so much is happening right now, but I'm just a bit overwhelmed with stuff, & have been since I returned from Vegas in July.
Since then, the SPT Swansea, the SPT Grand Final, the APAT WCOAP, & plans for some as yet under-the-radar stuff for the next 12 months have all eaten into my background spare time. Even so, I've barely missed a handful of TOTTY's since they began, & only 2 tikay Sleepies in 2 years.
This is my typical Diary these days.....
Tonight, I have a meet in Luton to discuss some business about "the other place".
Tomorrow, at 0930, I have a meet near Trafalger Square with someone from the Variety Club, with regard to a Charity Tourney. Then, a short walk to The Empire, Leicester Square, for 11am, where I will spend all day tomorrow and Friday with Rich Orford, & Atilla, getting filmed interviews with the WSOP-E players for 865.
Thursday evening, I hope to go to a poker Tourney in Dunstable, or to The Vic, to rail several friends in whom I have "invested" (purchased some of their action) in big Tourneys.
On Friday, Attila has let me off early from filming at the WSOP-E, so I can be back at Heathrow for my PTP night.
Saturday, I have the Live Show.
Sunday, I need to go home, then back south to meet a friend.
Next Monday, it'll be "catch-up" day after 4 days Offline, Tuesday it's Management Meeting day, Wednesday is TOTTY & tikay Sleepie, Thursday I'll be doing PTP & playing the £220 Deepie.
Friday, I've been invited to the opening of a new poker club in Essex, with an 8pm start, scheduled to finish at 4am Saturday, then I have to get right up to Halifax for Waynecure's Charity Tourney. Sunday, bright & early, it's the long-haul back to London to do the Live Show.
The following week I am "Hosting" (ooh!) a Tourney in Nottingham for the Prison Officers Association, & doing some charity stuff for Great Ormond Street Childrens Hossie.
I love every moment of all this, I really do, & there is no way I'm complaining. But I hope everyone understands that I just can't always be Online to play "my" Tourneys.
I very recently gave some thought as to retiring (again!), but I woke up the next morning & wondered what on earth I would do all day if it were not for "work".
I know one thing. When I leave this place, that'll be it. Sky Poker is the absolute bizz, & once I'm done here, that's it, it's Plan B, I'll get the Dog, & do the Scotland tour, da de da.
But I don't plan to depart anytime soon, unless the Suits have other ideas.
In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : Hi Teddi, No, I'm afraid I failed. The Final began with an Average of 8 x BB, & I had 13 x BB. When it was about to go to 6 x BB ave, I found 4-4, & walked into T-T. No complaints, at that stage, & with those stacks, the game plays itself. I had some obscenely good luck earlier, I just ran very hot. I also played there on Sunday, took an absolute monsta bad-beat, & it was the first real bad-beat I can recall taking in months, so I'm "due" some run-bad I think. My mind works in a peculiar way, & I filter bad beats out of my mind, to be honest, so maybe I'm just running average. But I never forget when I put monsta-beats on other players - weird the way our minds work, eh? Were you the Gentleman who got busted with A-Q last night by me in a 3 way all-in pre-flop coup? IIRC, Damon DeCruz (VERY good player) popped it up, you flatted, I shoved, Damon snap-called, & you snap-called, "on their backs" for a chip-lead Pot. You had A-Q. Damon had A-A. I had A-K. Board..... Q-Q-3-T-J. Whoops. Slightly embarrassing, truth to tell, but it was a "Turbo-Tourney", so folding A-K when the Ave stack is 13 x BB (I had 11 x BB) is probably not the way to go. no tikay i was the one you knocked out with jq and i had pocket eights ,i sat two too your right on the first two tables as we were moved together, also had my aces cracked by 7s on the first table, unlucky anyway

Ahh - gotcha now.
When your Aces were binked by the 7's, the 7 was the River, yeah? Respect for taking it so well, Bud. You were Seat 2 or 3 on the opening Table, & 8 or 9 in the Semi-Final, yeah?
The J-Q v 8-8.
Everyone was button-raising me, because I had some grief going off by Text & was distracted, so I was playing back at them & getting 3 bets through with total air, time after time. So I 3-bet you with my J-Q (in all honesty, I thought I had A-K) & totally expected you to fold, my read was medium pair. When you re-shoved, well, you know the game well enough, & I was obliged to make the crying call. I think we both got our bet-sizing a bit wrong, to be honest. If you Raise more pre, I Fold, if I shove on you, you fold.
I much enjoyed playing you.
A VERY odd evening.
In Level One, I was getting just a tad irritated with the serial-limpage, so with EIGHT Limpers on my BB, (25-50, starting stack 1,500) I jammed all-in with 8-5, & Lionel beat me in the pot with A-6, lol! Not sure who's play was worse there, tbh. Anyway, I binked, but Lionel took it OK.
Lionel is multai, you know, well loaded, & his Son is a big noise in the City, he's CEO of Whitbread or somesuch.
When he plays Cash, & peeps mock him (he's "not very good" shall we say), he says "yeah, but I bet you don't have a lake in your back garden". Gotta love Lionel.
I wrote a Post elsewhere today about last night, & I hope the Mods don't mind if I reproduce it here.......
".....Most amiable atmo there last night, very relaxing.
The Tuesday Comp plays most oddly - 1,500 chips x 3, with the need to lose half the 1,500 before the next tranche can be taken.
My Table included Lionel & Snati - try getting either off any hand! - & a lovely, really lovely, Indian lady in full traditional dress.
I don't think she'd ever played Live Poker before, & it showed, but she never stopped smiling, despite knowing she had made a bit of a fool of herself with the plays she attempted to make. She laughed at herself, & smiled non-stop. She lasted about 20 minutes, all three tranches of chips had gone by then, & exited with great dignity, then railed her Hubby (or Son) for the next 4 hours. So nice to see people enjoying their poker that much, & knowing they are hopeless, but still enjoying it. She'll always be a winner.
She tried to make it 200, but made it 1,100 by mistake, & Luther was on it like a shot, & shoved for 1,400 or whatever. Now she dwelled, admitting she'd made a mistake, & seemed to be considering a fold. None of us could say a word, but we are all thinking - "you HAVE to call!" Eventually, she does, gets beat, & still smiled wonderfully.
The table dynamic took some getting used to. Level 1, my BB, EIGHT Limpers, so I shoved for the full 1,500. Almost predictably, Lionel snap-called, so eagerly in fact that he did so out of turn, & proudly tabled his A-6. My 8-5 got there though, to much bemusement.
And so it continued, poker as I've never known it.
I got moved to genuinely THE easiest Table I have ever sat on, & stole completely at will, aided by Aces x 4, & Kings x 1, in less than 2 orbits.
Damon D'Cruz (sp) was a most welcome returnee, accompanied by a splendidly handsome young chap, very well-mannered - perhaps his son? I made him welcome by busting his Aces, & someone's A-Q (he hit trips) in a 3 way coup by turning a straight with my crushed A-K. Welcome back Damon!
I sat next to a Gent who I have vaguely known for years, who turned out to be a long time blonde lurker, & now Poster - "Eso Kral".
The name "Eso Kral" derives from the Slovakian for Ace (Eso) & King (Kral). There, a little knowledge for Tighty the Geek to absorb. Anyway, Mr Eso Kral is a terrific bloke, & a very tidy player indeed, who knows his way round a poker table pretty well.
The Final started at about Midnight I think, with the Average Stack 8.5 BB's, soon to be 6 x BB, so it was a shove-a-fest. Despite 5 short stacks, I just decided to keep shoving, but Claire Great Tit (singular, take note), to my left, caught me good & proper.
Good fun, & I may try again this evening.
I have Badged Tourneys in my name on SP 4 nights a week with a sort of semi-obligation to try & play all of them, in addition to my other responsibilities at SP, but I need to try & balance things up a bit, so tonight is a very tempting possibility.
Even more tempting, Chomps has just texted me suggesting I play tonight's £500 at the Vic, but I have already got a horse in that, albeit a complete no-hoper.

In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : Hi Rozzie, about three seconds, it's that simpleYou simply click a button to withdraw your money - it takes . Sorry to hear that you think the players here are so bad that you need to go elsewhere & play against better players. PS - Was the player calling out of position with 2-6 called "Dylan"?
