I think the standard is pretty much the same as it is on most Online Poker sites, to be honest. It's a sort of self-policing equation. Lots of the kids, the 2+2 types, bang on about this that or the other site being "soft", but it's total tosh, of course, because if it were true, everyone would go play there.
You see it in Live Poker, too, when a French, or Italian Tourney takes place, & the smart alecs all give it the "ooh, stake me for that, it must be soft, it's full of Frenchies, & they are all useless".
I mean, really, how do these kids manage in life when they swallow utter tosh like that?
Well done on doing well against "Launder" & "Lol-Raise", though there is a tinsy-winsy flaw in your logic. Think "sample size"......

hello Tikay, do you agree with the free entry to the £1000 gtd tournament being taken away from anyone who earns 250-500 pts per month ? in my eyes this is a pretty sad thing to do as it now seems sky are just rewarding the big spenders. To earn 250-500 points a month still requires in a fair amount of money to be spent and now to not even get a 1.10 token reward is a disgrace and just shows sky is only interested in the high rollers and not interested in the recreational player. i used to generally earn 250-500 points and was happy to get that little something back in return was nice although not much it was something. Now this has been taken away my aim is to earn no points out of prinipal as it seems my few hundred pound i spend a month as a recreational player is not good enough for sky. i would like to hear your un-blinkered opinion on this please Tikay Posted by oj_simps

You finish with "give me your un-blinkered view". Well that's a shade difficult for me, for obvious reasons, but I always try to be honest, so I hope you'll accept this as such.
If it was a "free" bonus, then I don't really think it can be called "a disgrace" if it's no longer offered!
And to suggest that Sky Poker are "not interested in the recreational player" is as far from the truth as it can get. They offer promotion after promotion which are aimed specifically at recreational players, & which are of absolutely no interest to the high-rollers.
Every now & then, Sky Poker "freshen up" the various offers & Promos, as any good business should. The total spend on promotions has INCREASED, not decreased, they just chop the spend-cake up into different size slices from time to time.
Sky Poker is a business, & it has to do what it can to encourage Clients to spend more time on the Site, you must accept that is a given, it's what any business must, & would, do. Their argument might be - I don't know, I've not asked - but if they have a Client who earns 450 C4P per month, they want to try & get him to earn 500 Points - & the Client then gets rewarded for it, too.
Recreational players are important - VERY important - to Sky Poker, they are the seedcorn of tomorrow's growth, so they have, are, & will ALWAYS be looked after by Sky Poker. But that does not mean they do not have the right to vary the offers from time to time.
I'm sorry you are disappointed, but it's a big ask to keep every player, at all levels, happy all the time. But they do try, & that is why it is so successful.

Playing poker on a regular smartphone may well be do-able, but it's not exactly "comfortable", given the screen & button size. The App will be primarily aimed at "tablet" users, I would assume. Thank you Tikay, with the hand i mentioned i played 3 4 suited and raised pre flop ( my thinking was most will play high hands if they miss i can put them off the pot ) A 2 5 hit the board, i bet get raised i pushed an was called by pair of aces(made with the flop), turn 5, river 5(3 5's in a row) that wiped all my money out, but this happens so often i feel its impossible to play low stakes, obviously AA on that board wasnt weak more often than not it would be the best hand so im not really annoyed at the player as such, but this seems to happen so often to me i can build any bank roll to play with just the spare change i got, seems i do all the right things but get beat runner runner .... i generally dont play many hands like that but if i just played 10's or better all the time id be predictable. I look over my hands and feel confident i did the best i could with what i got, but iv been losing for awhile now sometimes i think i just don't have a good game, any advice you can give ? you've no doubt been here before ? thanks again for replying, much appreciated

If you already use the download its on the right hand side of the start screen. If not then you will need to go to the Sky poker home page and click on download now (on the left hand side of the screen) which will install the download version.

Yes, there are sideys at EVERY SPT this season. Glasgow is a 1 day Main Event, so I'm not sure what the Sideys will be, probably a Friday evening affair, & a Saturday evening one, at around 8pm. To a degree, capacity for these depends upon the Venue. We seem to struggle a bit with Glasgow Venues giving us what we ask for, but hope springs eternal & all that.
Will I be attending? No idea! We have TWO SPT's that day, the other being in Brighton, & I'll go wherever the Suits ask me to. I'll deffo be at one or the other, God willing.
All the details will be announced once Luton SPT is done & dusted, next weekend, so you can expect the Satellites to start first week in February.

I have just started on this site after moving from another one and think it is a great site. I have had a bit of success so far finishing 6th and 4th in last 2 tournies although i went out with qq on the final table both times against ak and jj so a bit disappointed also enjoy playing the cash games where i was just playing lolufold heads up. He is an excellent player and very aggressive i got very lucky on him a few times but i think i will avoid him in future. niknoy

Most would say, I think, that Sky Poker my be far from perfect, but it does try to treat players fairly when things occasionally go wrong.
Why not chat with Customer Care again, & express your dissatisfaction?

I really think poker players need to get their heads round "bad beats". They are absolutely part & parcel of poker, an intrinsic part of the game. Until players accept this, they will not enjoy the wonderful game that poker is.
We take bad beats, we give bad beats, broadly speaking in equal measure. Nobody ever complains when they dish out a beat, only when they take one.
I think, on average, I must read 100's of bad beat stories daily, usually sarcastic, "oh, wot a shok, my A-K lost to Q-J", or "joke", "sky poker did me again".
Honestly, you will enjoy your poker much more if you just accept them, & move on, negative thoughts cannot possibly help you win, or enjoy, the game. Why not give it a try, & trust me, if you do, you will derive much more enjoyment from your poker. As long as you play poker, you will take bad beats every single day - you just will!
It really pains me to see players getting upset about "beats", I so want to sit them in a room, lock the door, & explain how it works, so they can move on positively. Why play a game which upsets us so much? We could watch Big Brother & get upset for free!
In any event, far worse things happen at sea.......now they ARE bad beats.
