Hi Tikay, First for me on here, Hi all. Kinda of getting tired of getting fished on the low level Tables (4p,8p,10p,20p Big blinds). Would it be a good move to start playing higher blinds than these to get away from them, or should i just swallow my anger and brush the tears away and keep playing these low level tables? Cheers Bane Posted by _Bane_
Not really the best way to learn imo, i used to do that and worked out for a bit but not good Bankroll management. main thing is dont bluff as much on the lower tables and then move up the ranks that way, eventually you get to a level where you wont get donkeys calling you and people think more. I think that level is 25p/50p and higher in personal experiance but still if you are getting beaten always said you should go down stakes rather then up although each to their own

Thanks YOUNG_GUN.
Problem with it is that i rarely bluff if ever. It just seems like where ever i go i seem to get stuck with the donks of the world. The usual calls with 72 off when i have pairs 10s upwards with a raise large. lol its always funny because i will see a donk on the table who is giving money here there and everywhere but just cant bankrupt them. I seem to give them money then they give it elsewhere lol. Well i suppose its all about patience so will keep ploding along, maybe try 25/50p for another view.

Hi Matty,
I'm really sorry you haven't received a reply. Tikay can sometimes be a little busy but i'll post your query over in the new Poker clinic and see if we can get you some replies from other community members there. I'll post you a link to the thread after i've put it up.

My apologies for the delay in replying Matty, I'm as bit snowed iunder right now, with one thing & another. I've now cleared my PM backlog, & plan to clear the "Ask tikay" backlog before I head off to Glasgow for the weekend tomorrow.

Hi Tikay, Is there likely to be a reserve list for this weekends SPT in Glasgow? Or even a satellite for empty seats before the main tourney? Or are there players unable to attend already looking for stand-ins? Cheers Stephen

No promises, but there is a good chance there may be a few. "Stand-ins" are NOT permitted though.
If you are local, turn up early & you MAY get a chance of one. But NO PROMISES.
Ok Question! You have just doubled up and are now second chip leader. Your down to the last couple of places to the money. Your dealt Ks in position after the Big blind. Raise 5 Big blinds. Allin from chip leader in mid position, who has played very tight and your gut feeling is he is playing with an A J,q,k(Or As). It is folded to you. What is the decision?

The obvious answer is to call but depending on the state of the tournament how many players are left and what the blinds are it is a reasonable play to fold if there are maybe 20 or 30 places that get paid, Is the call going to win the tournament if you win the hand ? Doyle Brunson explains this in his Super system book when he folded K K against a large stack , ironically he got put out that tournament with the same player later on with pocket aces finnishing 13th. You arent in trouble and seem comfortable with your chip stack so winnig another double up might be good at that point but you still have plenty of play left and can out play the chip leader so I would probably reluctantly fold if there are more than twenty players left.
56 Players remaining out of 354. The chip leader and myself are about a three to one on the next stack down, Pay point was 52(If only the Buyin back and a couple of extra) But i reluctantly call and he turns over AQ. Flop 5,9,A... Turn 5... River2. Knocks me down to 10 big blinds, and out in the second deal after(Finishing lol 53). Gut feeling was to fold even with the Ks. Just wanted to know if folding would have been too tight, or is there no way out with that hand. Cheers for the responses.

in hind sight its easy to say fold but realistically you would probably got your 5 big blind bet back against the shorter stacks that said it was unlucky an ace came on the flop.
