In Response to Slowroll thread : I have just read the 'Community Guidelines' and see that no where does it say that you can't name a player that you have played against. It even says that when using a Hand History you can leave the players name in as long as you don't call them names. I treated the opponent with full respect and didn't post any defamatory remarks about them. I assume you have also read these 'Guidelines' and if you still think my post broke the rules I'd like to know which one. Posted by shaun84
I think it would be covered under common sense. If not loosely covered by the following:
Flaming
Put simply, ‘flaming’ is hostile and insulting interaction between users. We’ve got Wiki to thank for that explanation. Our policy at Sky Poker is simple: do not personally abuse or insult other members in your posts. Debate and disagreement is fine, insulting is not. It’s really that simple.
If I came onto the forum and found a thread with a title being just my name and then discussing what I may or may not have done wrong I would probably find that hostile and insulting. Especially if no one had asked for my side of the story.
The Community Guidelines are just that guidelines. To expect them to cover every eventuality is expecting too much.

My post was neither Hostile nor Insulting. Did you read the original post or are you just backing up a fellow Moderator without knowing the whole story? How would you think it is covered by Common Sense?

Yes I saw the thread just before it was removed. This really is getting blown completely out of proportion. But I did say above why I might think it could be interpreted that way.

As a neautral who honestly could not care less about slow rolling, people can do what they want.
Your post was both Hostile and Insulting. I'm glad the original thread was deleted, even if it's not in the 'guidelines' , naming and shaming is disgusting.
I'm glad the 'dogs of war' have come out to support each other. I guess its fine when others to do it. Its all about whether your face fits! It is obvious that as I'm not part of your little clique I will be birrated wheras you are all fairly silent when its one of your own. Typical cronyism.

This really couldn't be further from the truth. I'm in the middle of replying to your PM so let's keep it there between us now please. I'm open to continue the discussion with you for as long as you like.
For what it's worth I would have deleted that post no matter the starter.

That last 'Tongue in cheek' comment by me wasn't meant towards yourself. It was aimed at the other posters who have jumped on the bandwagon without quoting specific things from the original post. They have made sweeping generalisations and have shown nothing to prove they read the thread or the many responses of other people who posted on it.
shaun, i never saw the post so cant comment without the facts. you seem like a nice bloke and somethin has obviously got your goat. venting is good and even a little moan, **** if it gets it out the system quicker all the better, but and it is a but, you cant name people in these posts. you cant do it here in general or even in the clinc, seen lots of posts with " cant believe xxxx has called with xx" posts to last me a life time (all get deleted by the way
take the deletion in the manor tommy (and other mods) have explained.
as for the clique thing, a little harsh ive seen bigger dogs on here with plenty of posts deleted ie dohhh, irishrover etc. gl at the tables phil
My favourite slow-roll story was when I called from the big blind with 10sJs and flopped a straight flush. An uber aggressive player that had been giving me verbal shoved all-in and Posted by bandini
I tanked.
(History : He'd called the clock on me the orbit previously before I'd looked at my cards. I was fizzing.)
Anyhoo, I tanked. Waited for the inevitable clock call. Counted it down.
"Is a straight flush good?" I queried, as I turned my cards over with secs left on the clock. He mucked and stormed out so I assume it was.
I'm never going to be Phil Ivey. I support Hibs. I understand how important small victories are in life. And this was up there.
Like to think I'm a gent and would never normally slow-roll. There's always exceptions though.
On-line? Too many variables for me to ever take offence at a last minute call. Meh.
i saw this thread from the beginning... i saw the name of the person who does it... this evening i was slow rolled by that person. how amazing. most of all how sad for that player who is now infamous for such a thing.
