I'm torn here guys, got Tikay, Redmond and the Chan Man on one channel, but got my team (Everton) playing in the FA cup on ITV...

Have a great show guys, looking forward to the competition to win a seat into the VLV  QF :p

    Question for Channing...

In the spirit of Tikay having given me a free entry into the Thews @ Ten  for my efforts with the HU competition... What would you say are the most important adjustments you need to make to your game if the structure is faster than you're used to (10 min clock to 5 min clock)?

    Hey Tikay,

Why hasn't Anna Fowler got her own avatar.....the one on show is hardly flattering. Or is the pain she's in putting years on her?

Question for Neil - ps prefer the blue background

I,ve asked before on facebook i think about getting staked . Pretty sure i showed you some results but i know ur probably sick of seeing them, but in an everchanging game what advice would you now give to someone like myself who plays low stakes cash and because of BRM rarely plays MTT,s anymore , but has had a good record in the past although at low stakes   . I am playing in a few satelites , but if i don,t bink anything soon whats the best way a player can get stakes these days - ( Ps i no you run your own scheme on that other site, but apart from that )

    Cheers

I think that Omaha advice was a very good set of basics which all people need to bear in mind before giving it a go. Someone once said to me (it could possibly have been you), that Omaha is a flop game and I think this sums it up perfectly.

    Neil

You seem to me a man in control of his personal health.  I'm feeling very run down at the minute.  Have you any tips to make me feel better?

    Evening gents,

Some vegas related questions which Neil will probably like as he can talk about a certain poker site! However consistent with our lovely presenter of the evening I would like all of the answers in 30 seconds!

Skypoker vs black belt poker at the main event. (Views from both sides please)

    1. Who will have the highest place finisher and your guess at the finish place?
    2. Who will have the most players through to day 2?
    3. Who will have the lowest average place finish?
    4. Who is your tip from your site for the highest place finish?

    Thanks

Matt (or Master as yoyo likes to call me) Bates

thanks for the comments on that hand neil and redmond the reason i didnt empty the clip on that k q hand it was early stages and didnt want to lose over half my stack early on with a bluff so i checked the turn to control pot i was always bluffing the river if it got checked to me :)

No offence but I dont know how you can be pot controlling with essentially a junk hand. Surely you can't really be confident you're ahead, so it's not pot control, it's just checking behind with nothing.

just watching the show and realised how much good information on poker is being given to the sky players by 3 top players and analysts, reminded me when i played years ago pre internet only live games, when a beginner sat down to play no one would "educate" him if you did the other players would not be happy.
the feeling was,i had to pay to learn and so will you.
So sky players listen and learn

Great advice and analysis from Neil and Redmond. Gutted I couldn't host this show- such superb articulators.

Tikay- you're ok as well, I suppose. ;-)

    Re Omaha

I'm by no means an expert, but here are my 2 cents anyway.

For beginners it's always good illustrate the difference between hold'em and omaha. With 4 cards you get effectively 6 hold'em hands (If your hand is AK73 your possible hold'em hands are AK, A7, A3, K7, K3 and 73). You want as many of those 6 hands to be able to make the nuts using both cards.

From a mathematical point of view, in hold'em pre-flop AA is an 82% favourite against a random, but only 44% against 6 random hands. In Omaha, even if you're heads-up, your always playing against 6 hold'em hands. Thus, don't overvalue AA, it's not the nuts.

Omaha is a post flop game and a game of nuts. Due to the pot limit nature there are many more multi-way pots than in hold'em. Don't slow play strong hands. The nuts can change on every street, and if you don't have them there is every chance someone else has them or represents them. Even with top set or a flopped straight it's better to take down the pot on the flop than to give free cards and get outdrawn. If you get raised on the flop and you don't have the nuts consider carefully whether to call or not. Nut flush vs K-high flush, house over house, house vs quads situations are quite common in Omaha.

In general everyone should give omaha a chance, it's a great game.

great show tonight guys really enjoyable

    two tips for omaha

    1. dont play drawing hands strong unless you are drawing to the nuts (i.e. ace high flush draws)

    2. at least to start with dont bluff

Good news Tikay, I've had a nice double up. Bit harsh on the guy, he had rebought literally just before this hand, I had JT, flops comes 789, I check, he bets 200, I raise to 600, he jams for 4,000. Snap call :)

That's how short a rebuy can last :P
