@ People saying fold KK - The only way I think it would be +EV to fold is if you were so short that trebling up means you'd still be all in on the big blind next time around regardless, and someone else would be all in on the big blind before you.
Other than that, I'm getting my money in with KK every time, bubble or no bubble.
I dont understand young_gun about ppl folding KK is such a bad thing yea we got the 2nd best hand pre of course , but he bought in yea fair enough the min cash is the same as playing a £110 basically if your gunna fold KK pre!
But you dont no where some ppl lie finacially could have easily have got in for £2.40 from the cheapest sattelite and noin that the shorty has 1BB!! folding KK i have nothing against it at all yea the money aint gunna change there life but if itl do them alot of good buy having it then its okay and min cashing in tournaments such as the £25k roller is defo +Evo if your getting in at the cheapest!

So you'd rather pay it safe and guarantee yourself £217 than give yourself a chance of winning the £8,350 first prize?
If that's your strategy I'd say you'd be much better off in a £110 DYM. It's much easier to get that min cash and it will get you £220, an extra £3 compared to the Roller, it'll only take a fraction of the time too.

You cant qualify for a £110 DYM for cheap tho, I know the OP didnt but kidwizz was saying that if you had satelited in cheap it wouldnt be the worse move. Ok youve missed a good chance of doubling up, but you can still go for the win a couple of hands later when the shorty goes out.
Saying that theres no chance id be able to fold, I can just understand why someone would if they had satelited in so cheaply
If you sat in for £2.80 and never cashed in a big tournament before i will allow you the argument for folding KK here, however if you had doubled up in that spot you would be well in for a big cash. If just once out of 5 bubbles your kings and you go onto the final table its +ev. Summing this up please dont fold kings here vul
edit: I brought directly in and cashed just above min and i was so annoyed with myself for not final tabling atleast as i ran so well throughout so i think you would still be annoyed even with a min cash.
Gary you dont get the point im trying to put out if someone doesnt have the money then there not gunna be playing £110 dyms right? so why you stating that might aswell play them when im putting out that he could have got in for £2.40 and not have a good finacial stabability , and yea there was a guy with 1BB! hed be out very shortly so folding KK till hes out isnt such a bad move if the min cash is gunna do good for you , and having a chance at the 1st price is a long way thinking sein as the bubble hasnt gone yet which was 40th ithink:S or 30th not quite sure but anyway ,
And yea shuv you got it right there no harm folding few hands if you got a good average stack until the bubble goes then play yea it might put you in a good position if you double up with KK but youd stil have a long way to go and from 11th to 40th theres what £40 difference as such so folding KK i wouldnt but im not in need of £200 ish but others that may be a big deal
thanks for the input guys, i dont no why i even asked the question cos if it happended again 1000 times i wud still neva lay down kk!!!! Posted by THEROCK573
feel good that you are more of a man than most people.
Thought he was bein a smart as s:) , doesnt mean he has the money to be able to take the chance that others can in the same situation even if it means putting them in a great spot
If your plan is too min cash just enter a £110 double your money instead. In a tournament im looking for every spot i can get to ladder up. Posted by bearlyther
But you can't ladder up unless you make the cash in the first place
take it as a back handed compliment :-) Posted by pod1
'well played,unlucky'
pretty self explanatory imo.
he said he'd always make this play which is obviously correct poker wise. monetary wise some people can make arguments that have more importance to them then a chance for the win.
I think folding here is definetly acceptable for someone who has satelited in cheaply. Everyone values money differently. For example I'm currently unemployed since christmas, I get £70 a week in benefits so that situation is an easy fold for me as £217 is three weeks income and would instantly triple my bank roll.
Think of it another way what if the min cash was say £100,000 or £1,000,000 for you richer people would you really not consider folding KK just because its not the correct play?
Thx smithy for agreeing there and i expect one of them to come in and go no im goin for the win if i lose i lose thats poker but we both no that is pretty much bull lol
as a not that experienced player who did indeed satellite into the same tourney I ask myself would I have folded the K's in this situation, the answer 'would i heckers like!!'
