I know "Bash" very well, been playing "Dealers Choice" & "Omaha" cash games with him in various licensed, Venues, & some "private games" Nottingham since around 2002. He's a smashing lad, but very tricky, able to make big calls, & his game-style is to put pressure on others. Warn Dave to tread warily with him!
Into last level of day with 75k chips He is made up with all the support from everyone. Unfortunately I am not able to be there to rail him in person( He has played solidly all day and I for one am very proud of him Posted by Yorkie74
who`s there to give Dave the old back rubs, NOT Tikay i hope we`ll all know he`s a jinks when he comes near you )))))
Those who survived yesterday were as follows. I have highlighted a few who may be of interest, if any Sky Poker guys are there, & I have missed them, Post accordingly, let's get a sweat going for our lads.

Liam Batey is the BMX Champion chappie, who played so well in the SPT Grand Final. He is a mate of Thewy. I believe there is an 865 interview with him somewhere.
Alex Martin has appeared on Ch 865 a few times, though not for a while now. Total, total, utter degen. Greatest player ever ever ever but I've never known him to have any money, he's always busto, & staked. A lovely lovely chap in fact, with a great knowledge of nature, outdoor pursuits, hunting, shooting, etc. A good friend of many years standing. "Bit laggy".....
Ralph Shalson. Bit selfish of me to name-check him, but he's been a close pal ever since I began playing poker, & he entertains me for dinner every Xmas Day. The point about Ralph, however (usual forum name elsewhere = "Karabiner"), is that he is 93 years old. Oh, & I have 12.5% of his action.
Nick Hicks. A true gentleman, he is like Thewy, he does not have an enemy on earth, he gets it quietly, wins & loses with dignity, & has never once in his life moaned about a bad beat. Proper bloke. Plays on Sky Poker sometimes as "Samarai", or "Samarai Boy" or something similar. Ran very deep in 2 or 3 of the SPT's we have held at DTD in Nottingham, in fact I think he finalled at least one of them, it may have been the first ever SPT in fact. He also finalled in the GUKPT Walsall last year in which Scotty77 made his spectacular entrance (& exit, sorry Ryan!) to the Live Poker Tourney world.
Tom McCready. My closest friend in life, Tom is a Gypsy, & is known to many Sky Poker players because of his superb writing, the man writes THE greatest Forum Diary ever ever ever. I had 25% of his action in this, but sold 10% of it to a friend yesterday. Pah.
Joseph ("Jo") Grech. Featured in the recent GUKPT Walsall in which Jingle Ma got so unlucky. Was very disparaging about Jingle Ma in that K-K v A-9 hand, & thereafter. Takes all sorts. He is actually a good friend of mine, but I was not best pleased with his comments that day, & I told him so. Like he cared.....
Hai Thow Pen. No idea who she or he is, but supposedly (clearly an error) survived with ONE CHIP! Gotta be the ultimate grinding nit, surely?
Surinder Sunar. Famous for how he handled Tony G when Tony was running his mouth in the Paris WPT back in around 2003 or 2004 iirc. Surinder won it, obv. You Tube is your friend.
Lee Cowmeadow. My favourite name from yesterday's survivors. I believe his nickname is "Pat".
I believe Redmond played on 1a, & Carlo & Matthew Chard (LOL-RAISE) yesterday. No luck I'm afraid. I assume that Scotty77, Hursty, NHick Prye & Co all play today.
EDIT - I have removed the link, (the one I originally posted, lol!) as the music lyrics were not exactly, umm, "on message". Ahem. Cripes, I had to moderate myself!
Just go to You Tube, & search for "Liam Batey BMX Racing Video"
Sadly - just because it woulda been sort of epic fun - the chap reported to have 1 chip actually has, umm, 150,000. Slight miscount, presumably...... Posted by Tikay10

Thanks Tikay Dave knows to tread carefully with Bash. He wont have to worry if Bash busts out today
Well done Dave making day 2 and good luck.
Whats the best way of keeping updated with these events - anyone got any links?

558, or roughly so, started Day 1b, of which 120 survived. (+ the 100 who survived from Day 1a).
Day 1c is today, Friday, when 600 nearly are expected to play.
Day 2 will be tomorrow, Saturday, when all survivors - expected to be around 360 or so - will re-convene.

Thewy is playing today, too. He was still in at 12.25.
