I think the Sky poker god's are trying to tell me that Sunday should be a day of rest. Succesive Sunday's now my bankroll has really suffered, whereas during the week sees steady if slow progress. Mind you having begun the month with a bankroll of £10.00 i have got to be happy with £163.97 & £25.27 in c4p for 2,106 points so far this month. I appreciate that I am taking a risk now by playing the £11 Dym's with only 15 buy ins, but feeling confident with my play at that level & as long as I don't play sunday's I should be ok. So if any sharks read this please be gentle with me. Can't get my head around the different increments on the c4p's widget either but they must be like that for a reason. I mean 1500 - 2000 points is worth £9 yet the next from 2000 - 2500 is only worth £6. Looking forward to the forum DTD tonight ( Never thought I would say that) to see whether having dual monitors helps me to play better or even if it only helps me to read the comments in the chat boxes. ( I wonder what Slyklyst is cooking tonight??) Good luck to all playing in it tonight & have fun. :-) Posted by Woogie8688
hi mike, it is the second part of the 500 pts that increases the most and by more the higher you go. 2500 - 3000 increases by £12 and 3500 - 4000 increases by £15. hope that helps m8. gl buddy :-) ian ps, i also had a horrible night last night ...sunday. so that will be something that i will also be paying attention to over the nxt few weeks.
My journey on Sky poker changed again last night, 1 minute you think you are travelling from A - B by car & the next minute you are going from A - C by train. In fact at the moment I think I am travelling by coach from A - F ( God knows where Z will find me )
Last night I was reading posts on the forum and noticed Rich Orford's Wed night Timed Tournament challenge, I have only played one TT previous and was lucky to make a small profit in that. Out of curiosity I looked at them in the lobby, the 1st at 7.05pm was a £3.30 x 30 min, £200 guaranteed jobby, but what attracted my attention was that with some 10 mins to go there were only some 27 runners. Now even by my basic grasp of maths I reckoned it needed some 60+ runners, so there was every chance of a lot of extra value. So I duly regd, was a bit disappointed when it made the required numbers with seconds to spare tho.
Before playing Dym's I had read JohnConnor's guide, but here I honestly hadn't got a clue as to strategy, tactics ( & listening to Ch 865 am not sure anyone has ) but luck was on my side AA in 1st couple of hands shortly followed by a big win with AQ clubs v AK AIPF (hit the flush on the turn) I now had a huge chip stack. I am then faced with a whole load more decisions, do I settle for what I have or do I try & accumulate more chips, (where was a JohnConnor guide when you needed it!! ) luckily for me the cards made it easier & at the end of 30mins I had increased my chip stack with controlled aggression.
Now not having read all the previous weeks posts/scores i honestly didn't have a clue whether what I had finished with was a good R.O.I. but having posted the score 642% I felt rather good when BorinLoner asked " Should we all go home" and Rich suggested that I might have ruined the night after 40 mins.
I then assumed the role of an F1 driver who has just posted the fastest time & sits in the garage waiting, and wondering do i need to go out again. I soon got the answer when Poppy765 posted 2 scores around the 550% (once is luck, twice is skill) after another min cash I realised that I for one wasn't going to improve on my score. So all I can do then is wait till 12.00 and am really chuffed to say that I had won the seat into tonight 12K bounty hunter.
I think I made about £21 profit on the TT, but that didn't matter to me in the slightest I was now going to be playing for the 1st time in a main event. Once I saw that I had been registered for the main event I instantly registered for the mini, **** I don't live in Wales but my granddad was welsh so that might count.
Just realised as well that I haven't played a bounty hunter before either, so I am off to search the forum for "anybodies guide to bounty hunters"
A very good read Mike and best of luck in the Bounty Hunter, there'll be a strategy there somewhere if you look hard enough, look forward to the story continuing...
You will find that the play may be a little more 'loose agressive' than other formats of the game due to having an extra value on your head. Play big hands strong and hope they hold up. You will find there are a lot of beats in B/H's due to players calling off on gut shots etc and sometimes getting there where in other cases they might fold.
If you survive the crazy anything goes first hour and half or so in these, then they should settle down, and a more traditional game of poker should break out!
Oh....and when you win the jackpot, don't forget to buy us a pint
All points duly noted m8, mind you am not sure what a "traditional game of poker" is anymore :-) and if and when Maxally it will be worth a **** of a lot more than a pint !!
Best of luck in the bounty hunter mate. Hope i get to rail ya on the final table. Daz Posted by _ARAZI_
Thanks m8,
If the impossible happens then not only will it be great to have you on the rail, but will need somebody close by who can administer CPR because I reckon that would be guaranteed heart attack material lol
Well thats the end of the month for me, glad to say I have turned the £10 into £213.39 & earned £28.84 for 2,403 points.
Not quite the way I had thought it might go either. Started off with the intention of playing low stakes Dym's to see where that got me but then things started to happen that changed the course of the whole month. 1st off I joined the Hit Squad & found myself playing the Monday night DTD & by some miracle I managed to take down the Take on Tikay. I then chose to be totally stupid & go against all my bankroll management principles by playing the £11 Dym's a level at which I am now fairly happy with. ( That will be this kiss of Death)
Last night provided another totally ridiculous chapter, I managed to luck box the Timed Tourney R.O.I competition winning a seat in tonights 12k Bounty Hunter in which I finished 91/430 but managed to take a couple of bounties to make it a really good night.
I havent got a clue what next month will bring & I am not even going to hazard a guess. But one thing is sure thanks to all of you guys on the forum who have made it one of the most enjoyable months of my poker life.
ps. was gutted that tonights live show was cancelled, you never know I might even have had a hand shown on TV lol
Start of a new month & how depressing is my widget ( sounds crude that) No pink line & a big fat £0. Still could be worse from what i read on other threads I could be playing 2p/4p cash, I reckon if I did it would have to be hidden as I couldn't handle any more depression.
Cash is a form of poker i have never had any success with at all and although it is popular here on sky i am not remotely tempted (not yet anyway) What does surprise me here on sky is the popularity with the STT players to play Dym's as opposed to Sng's. I was watching Sng's in the lobby yesterday & the only one to fill and that took an age was the £1.00 Sng. Any ideas?
All I can think is its the payout structure which is very top heavy or the games take too long, I personally miss the Heads up element at the end of a Sng and that with slightly longer blind levels it is not always the usual "all in shove fest" at the end.
Anyway am going to give the Dym ladder challenge another bash, but am about as optimistic of completing it as I am on England's chances of winning the Euro's.
A kind member of the forum also pointed out that the origional picture I had used for my profile, was in fact advertising another poker site - oops.
Hopefully when the new picture is approved it will no longer have the offending logo. I am sorry if this has caused any distress to anyone, it was purely accidental I assure you.

My poker life is in ruins, as it would appear that I am no longer a member of Team Hit Squad. I was reading the thread on the forum "Real Life" and a post by the Captain Hitman_RV in which he named the members of Team Hit Squad who had already posted on the thread. To my horror & my huge dissapointment my name was not on the list.
I know that my performances in the monday night DTD have been nothing short of useless & I have to admit that if I had been the manager I would have substituted myself by about 8.45 last night but to be axed from the team completely, oh the shame of it.
I didn't even get so much as a phone call explaining the reasons why I had been left out of the team, I had to read it for myself on another post on the forum, I can't think of any other reasons why I have been omitted outside of poker, no impending court cases involving my brother or such like so I guess I wll have to make myself available though just in case of injuries to the squad, but I wonder if at my age that my poker career isnt finished & new players will be brought in to win the DTD for Team Hit squad
Whatever the future holds tho I will always be a fan of Team Hit Squad and support them as they try & win the forum DTD.
Looks like thanks to my agent VespaPX my poker career might be on track again. The Captain quoting "Old age & madness" as the reasons for my omission from the team.
I hope Roy Hodgson doesn't try & come up with the same excuses should England find themselves in need of a centreback during the next few weeks.

Hi Mick,
Speaking of your fee I need a word in your shell like, the jubilee/ bank holiday weekend has been a bit of a disaster poker wise therefore as a result all available funds are needed in the poker account. In fact June 11th & c4p payout cant come quick enough.
On a brighter note i am glad to say that my widget is showing signs of recovery (that will please the missus) the pink line is growing & I have already got rid of the big fat £0 in fact with a little bit of massaging I would hope that this month it rises to an all time high. (which at my age is no mean feat)
Tonight sees the Orford timed challenge again & I have a horrible feeling that this could well be a case of after the Lord Mayors show. Also if GregHogg reads this, I am sorry about the rub m8 you really did great. ( I was only jealous).
Still you have to be in it to win it so i will give it my best shot tonight.
I need to play more as i've never got to the 500 point mark yet ! I didn't have a very good bank holiday either on the tables but there's always another day.
Glad to hear your widget is getting better but probably too much info thanks ! :-)
