Live show competitions

Those who watched tonight's live show will know that there was a competition. The aim of the competition was to guess which of James Hartigan's 5 statements were false. There were 2 draws:

Draw 1 - Anyone who guessed correctly which statement was false went into the first draw

Draw 2 - Ryan was asked which of the 5 statements was false. Anyone who guessed correctly that Ryan would fail to "Call James' Bluff" got entered into this draw, as well.

My concern relates to the legitimacy of Draw 1. In Draw 1, there was 2 people - Belsibub, the winner, and one other entry.

On the Team51 facebook page, I posted to say I was the other person in the first draw, having correctly guessed that Statement number 3 (About James directing a film in 1993 or something) was false. Shortly after, Djblacke04 claimed that he was the other person in the draw.

2 screenshots were posted, of each of our outboxes, displaying the correct answer. Obviously, with 2 correct entries, plus the entry from Belsibub which was drawn out, there should have been an absolute minimum of THREE correct entries in the draw. But there was only TWO names in the draw, which last time I checked, is less than three.

What's going on, Sky?

Quiet Correct - any thread that questions the integrity of sky should be dealt with swiftly imo :)

I agree, a couple of day's off will do these people no harm at all!-- Make an example of him I say!

This too could happen to you if your mind becomes obsessed with  your draws!

Sorry, just posting to quote him, so that he can't edit it and retract this outrageous accusation.

I think title is a little misleading tbh....it implies there's some kind of agenda/riggedness....which of course any sane person would know that would never ever be the case :)

If what you posted in the OP is true, and there were 3 correct guesses for statement number 3, then a more reasonable thread title would be 'human error possible in a live show comp'....which I'm sure you can appreciate from the production staff who were on call from around 4pm until 12....not making excuses for anyone and I'm sure that Dan/Claire will see this tomorrow and investiagte further.

Also just because that there is a screenshot of a message doesn't mean that it hit the Sky Poker email...or maybe it was sent but not in time/received in time.

    Thanks for the reply,

Tikay has access to the Team51 Facebook page, so would be able to look at the 2 screenshots that we have if necessary.

The 2 entries were sent at 22:20 and 22:39 respectively, so both well within the hour given after the final question.

And you've never said anything which in hindsight wasn't put in the most appropriate way?

    Give him a break

Maybe they conducted some in depth research into the entries with spreadsheets and everything and discovered that one of them was completely wrong so didn't include that entry as it might generate an unwanted result?

I was suspicious tbh as you are a proffessional WUM.... But i have been shown screenshots of your's and pingu's e-mails to sky... so i apologise.

But, i still think the OP is a bit ott. A polite PM to sky claire would have been a lot better than putting this on the forum imo.

    Morning :)

I will drop the team who worked on the show last night an email and have a look into this.

I won't get a response until early next week as they are not here until Sunday and I will be back in the office on Monday

    Thanks

It is "a serious OP", and whether there's more competitions in the future or not as a result of this thread is irrelevant if the competition draws don't include all of the people who have answered correctly in the first place.

Myself and Djblacke04 have proof that last night's live show competition didn't include all of the people who answered correctly. That is fact (said in best Rafa Benitez accent, of course)

Pingu do you really think Sky left out names on purpose, come on !

It's an obvious human error maybe ?

To post this and cast shadows is just not right.
I don't get the purpose of this fred !

Unless you want everyone to think all is rigged, my aswell post in area 51 )

The RNG (random name generator) cannot be faulted and is regulated from the Channel Isles to ensure fairness to all. If your name did not appear in the draw it's just natural varience. If you enter 500,000 draws you will find that your name comes out at the expected rate. You cannot criticise on such a small sample. Bad beats happen and a one outer is to be expected from time to time.

    :o)
