Greetings fellow poker lovers!

 

Sky Poker TV beckons you for another night of pokertainment this Tuesday- live on Channel 865 from 7pm till midnight with myself, Richard Orford


And the man with the Ready Brek glow- Carlo Citrone


Joining is from 10pm to discuss all the latest developments in the world of poker will be poker journalist Jon Young.


Here’s the rundown as I have it, subject to change…

 

7pm – Tonight on Sky Poker

-           What’s coming up on the site over the night

-           And action from the TV cash tables

8pm – Ask the Expert

-           Get your hands analysed by Carlo by sending in your hand IDs from the TV icon tables

9pm – Sky Poker School

-           Bet-sizing in MTTs
10pm – Chat Box- subjects to be posted in a separate thread below

11pm – Master Cash

-           Action from the TV cash tables moments after it happens

 

Jon Young is bringing along some nifty WPT goodies and he's set a question to win it.


WPT World Champion Scott Seiver "threw nubs" every time he won a hand at last year's WPT World Championship. What was he doing ?

If you know the answer, or can make an educated guess- then EMAIL it, yes EMAIL it only (do you really want to post it on here and have loads of people copy and paste your answer and reduce your chances of winning?!) to skyopen@bskyb.com

Meantime, all night Carlo are taking your answers on this question and the best one will win a free seat into next Tuesday's 5K Open 8pm main event.

If you were the ‘President of Poker’ what one change would you implement straight away?

 

Is there an annoying rule you want simplified or removed? Is there something you’d modify at the WSOP? Is there some format you would promote and try to make more popular than hold’em? Etc etc.

 

Whoever we think comes up with the most interesting/amusing/inspired or genuinely useful suggestion will win the seat. But we'll read all the entries out all night.

    President of poker changes.  

    1:  Antes (in cash and mtts here on selected tables).  
    2:  No player to utter the 'One time' saying.
    3:  Howard and Chris to explain themselves thoroughly.

    I know theres all that to discuss, but what colour will Carlo be tommorow night?

    Do i need to adjust the colour and contrast settings or is he staying away from those tanning shops recently?

    Lol- good point. I'd run it as a caption comp, but I think that may be a bad idea.

    It all depends if Carlo has been away on his hols since we last saw him.

    If he's stayed in the country then adjust your TV to black and white to counterbalance his orange colour and you should end up with a normal picture.

    If, on the other hand, he's been sunning himself on the shores of Ibiza, then god help us all. Wear shades, draw the curtains and hope that's enough...

    If I were Poker President I would Introduce the rule that a straight ranks higher than a flush. If I had a quid for every time the fourth flushing card hit on the river, obliterating my straight, I'd be able to afford to buy Into the WSOP Main Event! ;)    Have a good show all x

    If i was president of poker. What would i do?

    Well id start by advertising several low stake big guarentee tournaments. Id then change the rule in some casinos live that if someone not in the hand requests to see your hand they can would be removed. No pay no see in my opinion. Amount of times ive been there trying to flip my cards into the muck is funny. And my last major change would see all satellites 1 in 5.

    Lol- nice idea. Although, total carnage if implemented. A four-card straight outranking a royal flush? I foresee your average tournament director becoming more of a fight referee in that situation!

Jon will arrive halfway through and we’ll stick all the entries in his hands so he can get up-to-speed before we wrap everything up competition-wise at around 11.30pm.   So get posting your entries. Plus of course, all your usual stuff. Remember, we always need hand i.d.s so we can show your play on TV!   We'll also have an 8pm main event seat available to next Tuesday's 5K Open for the best message contribution of the night, whether it be aquestion, banter, a hand or anything else!   See you tomoz at 7!

    Not to sure about the first picture of you,  the one of you begging in the street.?  

    How about David Dickinson & Carlo discussing textures in face cards on the turn.  Or my proper suggestion, cough, cough,  leaving the two jokers in the pack and if you get dealt both;  You win the pot. ?   Good eh!    Ok I'll go away.?

    Some Online Poker Sites ONLY deal in £ sterling....best stick to them, imo. ;)

    You make a good point though - how utterly ridiculous that people are asked, on some sites, to play poker in a foreign currency.

    In my forthcoming election as President of poker.
    I'd like to implement a policy of

    Youth and Asia

    No I don't mean putting Tikay down!

    I think we should have two tours WSOYGP & WSOOSP

    World Series of Young Gun Poker and World Series of Old School Poker

    Culminating in a Grand final in the Far East Macau, Hong Kong Singapore Bankok etc I believe the welcome and facilities would far outweigh Vegas and that part of the world now has the money and resources to make the final a true spectacle

    All Hoodies will be surgically removed and incontinence pads made compulsory for the elder players!
    Carlo could take the opportunity of topping up his tan on exiting the tournament.  Based on recent performances he might have the time to make the break from orange to brown!

    Only joking but seriously looking forward to another great show!

    Afternoon all,

    In the office now prepping for tonight's show as more details emerge about it.

    Firstly- Sky Poker School from 9pm will be on the subject of bet-sizing in MTTs.

    If you have any hand i.d.s from TV tables or questions, advice on this subject then please fire them in.

    Secondly- Jon Young has set his own question for his WPT goody give-away.

    So, his question is now in the Opening Post. please note, send any answers to that question via EMAIL only (skyopen@bskyb.com) or else you're going to get a jobload of people copying and pasting your answer on the forum and totally reducing your chances of being one of only a few correct answers to go into the hat.

    Jon will announce the answer and draw the winner during the latter stages of ChatBox- somewhere around the 10.45pm mark.

    Good answers on the 'President of Poker' subject I set earlier- we'll do that all night and Carlo and I will award a Tues night 5K open seat for next week to the suggestion we like best. So keep them coming please!

    Looking forward to the show and I'll see you at 7!
