Late Registration is here!....

Hi everyone

Some of you will have noticed we had an upgrade to Sky Poker overnight.

One of the new pieces of functionality this brings us is late registration.

Over the next week we will be rolling this out across various events and the first event we are testing it on is the £500 Bounty Hunter at 2pm today.

If you click on it in the lobby you will see the information about late registration etc, including how long late reg is for (60mins). Give it a go and let us know what you think.

We will be posting more updates on this thread and on the community over the next few days, including which other events we will add it to.

Thanks
Sky Poker

Yay, very handy. It'll probably save Sky a lot of money in overlays too.

Time will tell we guess. It's not why we did it, it's really more to help customers and build bigger prize pools hopefully. We know it's frustrating when people try to get home in time for an event and just miss it, this will help.

As a regular, it would be good to get your feedback on what you think of it.

    Thanks

i like this idea but u should have something next to the tournament saying ( L R ) = late registration like the timed tourneys u have a symbol of a clock and like gary qqq said u will save alot of money with no overlay u doing this in all tourneys in the future the main event etc ?

All tournaments that are in a late reg status will show as so in the lobby, you'll see what we mean just after 2pm on the first one. Certainly the main events will be high on the list for where we add late reg. It wont be on all events but we'd certainly welcome anyones ideas.

    Cool.

Just wondering why it wont be available for all tournaments? Can't see any reason not to open it to all the events?
Assuming you can adjust the length of the late reg period?

Even an extra 10/15/20 mins in alot of the speed events will help the numbers.

Yes, we can adjust this accordiing to the game.

We will certainly build-up to having this on lots of events but this would be from day one.

Also, there will always be a few 'different' tournaments that we wouldn't put them on.

I'd like to see late reg on as many tournaments as possible.

I thought I'd registered for a Bounty Hunter at 1-30pm today, I only realised I'd forgotten when the table didn't open up. There was nothing I could do, if late reg was available I'd be playing it now.

Fair comment Gary, another good example of how it helps people.

When the tournaments went down on monday, I was busy complaining that Orford should'nt be allowed out of his dressing room unnecessarily, never mind into technical areas of the building--- and I missed registering for a deep stack. So this is a very good addition--- Thanks sky.

Ps, can we have an assurance that Orford will be excluded from late registration, as many players will only register for tournaments that he is not in.

Please can you confirm whether or not players can be KO a MTT but still use the late reg facility to enter the same tournament again, or, are there measures in place to prevent this?

I played and failed, so just tried to register again, but I was refused entry, so relax Maxally, it's not a rebuy :)

Cheers for letting me know. I am getting the feeling I am on Sky Poker's ignore button!

So the first event started with 74 runners.

A further 35 registered late taking the prize total up to £1,090.

    More trials to follow...

If I register late, does that mean someone else at the table will volunteer to deal? :) haha

I like the idea of late registration. The amount of times i've forgotton to register for a tourny whilst playing another game or being distracted is unreal.

So BIG Thumbs up from me.
