Sorry I'm not for this. If you miss the bus you have to wait for the next one to come along. Cash is a re-buy game, tournaments are all about accumulation of chips, not having someone register late with more chips than someone who has been playing for ages. If you want to persist with late entry then at least charge more to register late, would be fairer but overall this addition is not needed. Registration is available long before the tournaments start so really it's just getting yourself organised!!

A nice addition to late registration, would be an"L" next to those games so we know its a late reg game.
just as the re-buy games has an "R".

but im sure this will come soon.. ;)

I dont see any unfair advantage to regestering late, if you think there is then register late yourself.
But personaly I would prefur to get in early and build a stack.
Late reg will boost the prizepool.

It's not an unfair advantage at all though is it?

Imagine you have 2 scenarios, you can join a tourney with 2000 at 10/20 and have 100BB with plenty of play

    OR

you can join a tourney still with 2000 chips but at 50/100 where you have 20BB and most people will have much bigger stacks

Which one do you wanna do?

    Hi Mondo,

Apologies regarding the 11pm bounty hunter, it's the only late reg tournament to run into a problem tonight, we're not yet sure what caused this particular tournament to get stuck but we'll pick it up first thing in the morning and look to resolve asap.

The tournament itself will be settled in the morning based on chipstacks, with head value/bounties collected at the time + fee refunded.

I make your total refund approximately £47.16 (this will be confirmed in the morning on settlement)

Once again apologies for the service impact tonight on this tournament.

    Best Wishes

The 9pm 22 quid BH paused at 9.50 and restarted at 22.10

I love the late reg thing and im glad its been introduced, but theres the inevitable teathing probs associated with a big change. which ofc i accept, ive been a sky player for a long time!

i got in at like 10pm and late regged the 9.30 hunter. no problems whatsoever, table loaded smoothly, tables never froze and breaks started and ended at normal times.

nonsense. majority of the time the late reg players are gonna have less chips than those who have played from the start. If you build up to a 6,000 stack in a tournament, and people keep joining with only 2,000 how can you justify moaning really. and this applies even more for bounty hunters as you have them already covered before they play a hand, and can go on the HUNT

pretty unreal that some think late reg is a bad idea?

ask yourself why do the majority of biggest sites have it?

answer its convenient it boosts numbers

    Erm...

All the tournaments which had late reg yesterday don't have late reg today, according to the tournament lobbies.

    Hi Evilpingu

With it launching yesterday, we did these as trials on a 'soft' rollout.

We're just reviewing the results from yesterday (it looked really popular!) and will post more informatin here later on next steps.

    Thanks

Hi everyone Some of you will have noticed we had an upgrade to Sky Poker overnight. One of the new pieces of functionality this brings us is late registration . Over the next week we will be rolling this out across various events and the first event we are testing it on is the £500 Bounty Hunter at 2pm today . If you click on it in the lobby you will see the information about late registration etc, including how long late reg is for (60mins). Give it a go and let us know what you think. We will be posting more updates on this thread and on the community over the next few days, including which other events we will add it to. Thanks Sky Poker

its about time this site has late registration as most sites have them now the good thing is yeah if your late from work etc or busy u can register later but i think its good if u like to play when the blinds are higher up with 20 bb stack instead of from the begining with a 100 big blind stack i mainly play tight early satges in most mtts i play untill the blinds go up so i will be registering later on now in mtts i think its a great addition from sky and more 2 follow i hope :)

I might get shot down here but I do not understand this kinda mentality AT ALL. If you wanna play tight in early stages, then just fold lol, you could start with 2k, fold for 30 mins and probably still have 1850+ and you won't miss out on potential monsters like AA/KK.

If you wanna play a 20BB stack, sign up for a speed tourney and you'll have one pretty quick :)

(assuming it's one of the speed tournies that is actually fast)

It must be awkward this week if you play on Sky and your name is Reg. I don't know about you guys but I would be extremely paranoid with the increased discussions regarding my lack of punctuality.

If you are a "Reg" and happen to be reading this now..... ITS NOT ABOUT YOU MATE.... DONT WORRY!

It needed to be said, Reginald's get enough grief as it is and should NEVER have to suffer in silence.

    Hi everyone

    Just a quick update.

Thanks for your help on the beta-trial of late reg yesterday. It was really useful.

We have a couple things to do before we finalise a schedule. Until then, there won't be any late reg tournaments for a few days but we will come back on here with more details when we launch properly.

    Thanks

I often miss tournaments by a few minutes (epecially DTD) and as its now on most sites anyway so  think its a good idea.
Theres not many tournaments with much overlay now anyway so i personally think its a good idea on both parts (customers seem to want it and its good for Sky )and will probably attratct more players
