Rest assured we do take appropriate action against people we spot being abusive as well as those reported to us. Please do help us by reporting anything you think goes too far to customer care.

    Thank you

"gone to far" being pretty relevant.

Had to listen to two players rant at each following one say NH at showdown after hand played out AIPF (until I remembered there is a mute button).

Abuse is subjective and open to common sense.

But if people cant have thick skin or just click MUTE over a player, how do they expect to deal with prickly characters live?

Frustration and grudges/history is good for the game.  Have to be clear what is abuse and what is standard.  ABUSE needing consequences, but the rest....myeh.

Often people are abusing themselves or how unfortunate they are a board ran out certain ways, people often mistakenly believe the abuse is directed at a player/opponent.  When often times its just at the poo situatiom.

    In Response to Re: Abuse:
IMO there should be a report abuse button on each table where it will send info to sky and they can then deal with it whichever way they feel appropriate. I know its only words etc etc but alot of players play the game for fun and to chill out and having someone cursing and swearing at you in chat for whatever reason is just not called for.

this must makes so much sense to skypoker.  simple logic...

abusive language /> ease to alert /> more alerts > more bans > less abuse > fewer players leave > more players join in

and all they need to do is have an abuse alert button that registers against a player's name.  investigated.  three abuses = 1 month ban.  re-offenders = complete ban.

it is in skypoker's interest too

    abuse button = increased revenues

    In Response to Re: Abuse:
If you experience any abuse at the table, report it to Customer Care and they will deal with it accordingly. There's a big difference between venting frustration and outright abuse in my opinion, and nobody should be subjected to abuse whilst trying to enjoy a game of poker, regardless of the situation.

Seriously people it's a comptetive game there is going to a bit of 'abuse' thrown at you from time to time. If you can't deal with seeing a naughty word in the chat box or someone calling you a 'donk' I think you need to take a look at yourself before even thinking about reporting someone!

totally agree. i am certain though that you don't believe that abuse is limited to that, surely? if it is you have a valid point.

Of course not. There are people out there who will say some disgraceful things in the chat box and over step the mark by a long way.

Even still though I think if we let someone who is clearly uneducated and has nothing better to do with there time effect us (no matter how bad there abuse is) I think we need to toughen up a little. Just my opinion.

    i agree with your point.

separate to that though is the plea to sky to make it easier to report those who are abusive. the end result will be to make the playing environment more attractive to new players and those less thick skinned than you and me. the end result is to our collective benefit.

the only problem with the abuse button is that it will get abused by people. some people will use it even if there has been no abuse. people will just press it because joe bloggs just rivered them out of a tourny and they think it will be fun to press the button, this will give sky customer services even more on there plate and not being funny its not the greatest service at the moment. I am all for something along those lines to make it easier for you to complain about these people

    yes.. i see that.

misuse of the "abuse button" will mean the service is withdrawn (ignored).

Yes, excellent point! Along with an abuse button we need an abuse of the "abuse button" button.... then an abuse of the "abuse of the "abuse button" button" button... and so on.

I like to get creatvie with my abuse. One of my favourites is:

"Sir! I am most perturbed by your outdrawing of me! I must insist that you return my chips forthwith and make a donation in my name to a fluffy bunny charity!"

Donkey charities work just as well but that implies I have some sort of affinity with donkeys... and I don't.

I guess you have to win a lot of flips/races to get abused.

Wondered why everyone is so nice to me ! :-)

    Ignore aussie09 Contact aussie09

As in the example above, there is a report abuse for posts in the forum. I'm sure this is not abused, but if we had a "report abuse" button at the tables, I could see that unless changes in the "Terms & Condition" were implemented right from the start it would be easy for people to abuse it.

If the "Terms and Conditions" stated "Anyone found using the "Report Abuse" button without due cause, will immediately have their chat privileges suspended" then I think this would resolve any misunderstandings as to its use.

I for one will not tolerate abuse at the tables, whether it is directed at me or anyone else at the table and I always write this in the chat box if I see anything getting out of hand:

"Please refrain from using offensive language in the chat box, your chat will be logged and reported"

This seams to work on majority of time and stops abuse from getting out of hand. It also sends a little reminder to the frustrated player/players and helps them calm down. In alot of instances we have had some very pleasant chats after and the table is at pease once again :)

    perfect trev.

i do the same by warning if they continue etc.  strangely sometimes they do continue.

so all that is left is for skypoker to implement and operate such a system.

    it's a win/win/win solution.

Can Sky not add a button to a player avatar, to disable individual chat?
Other sites have a function where you can switch off any players chat.
Better if an avatar had upto 9 symbols to show how many players had blocked chat.

the abusive player should have their chat privileges taken away.   there can be a button on the table to initiate a report.

i am not in favour of a solution that merely masks the abuse.  that's like sepp blatter suggesting a handshake after a match will resolve football racism.

abusive player /> simple reporting mechanism > abusive player no longer able to be abusive > nicer tables > nicer players on skypoker > more players on skypoker > increased revenues to skypoker

abusive player /> no simple reporting mechanism > abusive player able to be abusive > not nice tables > nicer players on other sites > fewer players on skypoker > decreased revenues to skypoker
