Hi gang,
The gruesome twosome are back together in the house tomorrow evening (Tuesday 21st August) for five hours of LIVE poker analysis and taking potshots at each other.
Yes, it's myself, Richard Orford and that other bloke, Tony 'Tikay' Kendall.

We'll be on Channel 861 or on the live website stream from 7pm and here's what we'll be dishing up...
7pm – 8pm
Live tbc tournament coverage
8pm – 9pm – Ask the Expert
A poker hand reading hour – Asking Tikay to analyse and guess hands using our wildly popular masking feature. Send in your choice hand i.ds for this and we'll have some fun. (Remember fom TV icon games only please, and please state which game it's from)
9pm – 10pm - Sky Poker School
Tonight's topic: Managing a large chip stack in MTTs.
10pm – 11pm
Live coverage from the 6K Open
11pm – Midnight – Master Cash
Live action from the Master Cash tables
So, let's get this thread started!
As usual, I have a Sky Poker main event seat to give away to the best thread post/email (skyopen@bskyb.com) or tweet (hashtag skypokertv) and, other than your usual excellent input i.e. poker hand requests, questions and banter, here's what we're looking for...

This incredible photo of sunrise on the planet Mars blew my mind today. The fact that we've got a man-made object on there to take the photo is incredible. We've come a long way in a few decades.
This got me thinking about technology. So...
What's the best gadget/machine/piece of technology you've ever used?
It could be anything from that humble tin opener that you thought just got the job done really nicely or your childhood ZX81 right the way up to some state-of-the-art supercomputer or satnav that you have these days and that you just couldn't function without.
And, while we're at it...
What piece of equipment have you used that was a complete dog?!
Get your stories, opinions and thoughts on technology over to us and I'll read them all out on Tuesday night, starting from 7!
Comments
have a lovely, ranty show lol
dont think we should have anything on mars... congrats to the happy couple... the most ground breaking technology was the telegraph but we have far outgrown that one so i must say my ipad is tops and the nono (hair removal system) is at the bottom of the pile cos it is useless and is about to be sent back.
onwards and upwards :-)
Best Technology
Probably a bit textbook but it surely HAS to be the internet, the ability to access any music/videos you want, buy things much cheaper than pre-internet etc and without it, we wouldn't have brilliant things like the Sky Forum where I'm sure we've all met some very good friends.
Richard, as Sky Poker's resident timed tournament expert I would like to seek your advice: Considering the prevailing attitude amongst most players, do you think that the best way to play in timed tournies is simply to lock-up and play only premium and near-premium hands?
Since there is so much limping, I frequently find myself going bust by shoving with junk trying to claim the dead money, telling myself that since my opponents have limped they mustn't be willing to play for stacks. Inevitably many of these players call with hands they probably should be folding... but their junk beats my junk.
On the face of it the answer is simple - play tighter - but since you're always pretty short-stacked in these tournaments, if there are 4 limpers in front of you and you have 15BB or so, it's incredibly tempting to shove to claim those chips. Even if you're holding 72 you're unlikely to be dominated when called. However, my results when employing these tactics have been quite poor so do you think it's better to simply play super-tight, since your fold equity is almost zero regardless of stack sizes?
Of course Tikay's input is also very welcome.
Crack open the champagne, Richard: Somebody is genuinely seeking your advice on the pokerz!
:-O
have a good show
i'll try and pop in and watch when I can
Best technology - the printing press. Books ftw!!
Worst/dog gadget - the original bbc computer. kept crashing or switching itself off. Don't think it liked me!
