I'm trying to decide weather there is any point in staying as a reg on the forum. why because it seems you now need a prove reader before posting anything. I defend the right for sky to protect their business and their clients from abuse from trolls and the like. but I'm afraid it seems to me its going way beyond that. we are seeing forum regs receiving bans for things that I just cant understand. I always believed the forum was a place were you could let off steam when on tilt as long as you didn't become abusive to others or sky. over the last couple of years I've had posts criticizing  me and praising me without the poster having to think weather they could be banned or not. I have questioned online poker at times without fear. something I would not do now for fear of a ban. I fear I my be seen to have stepped over the line with this post, if I have how sad that in this day and age on a modern game site that we have come to love and enjoy we can no longer speak our minds with respect to others. sorry to have rambled on but it would be nice to hear your views is it just me or is the forum not what it used to be??

    Agree with your post Mate!!

You asked for some views, here are mine!

I Too, remember a time when you could post freely without major problem, or some Mug jumping down your throat!! We had a great community everyone posted respectfully without any Friend or Team bias, and we had FUN!!

BUT...Unfortunately, SOME,  not ALL posters, have not adhered to the points I have highlited!!

The Few have Damaged The Harmony on This Forum..& Others!!

The Few Now seek to do their Damage on FB & to Ill deserved Targets etc. If you look closely, the same 'circle' is often involved!!  This is where the problems fester

I dont think you stepped over mark at all Mate!!

But We All have a joint responsibility to put people rite if They go to far, be they friends or not,  as people have in past suggested to me, once or twice, if i have crossed a line, [ty Elsa]!!

The Forum Was always a Very friendly place, with good banter & respect shown by All generally!!
Unfortunately, without naming any names, a few bad Apples have stirred up a hornets nest at times, what they hope to achieve Gawd only knows!

Luckily for Me, The Good friends, I have met at SPT's & thru Sky have mostly not been caught up in these moments of madness!!

From What I have seen most of the trouble could have been avoided if more common sense had been shown Early, and disagreements, were sorted swiftly & out of The public view which only stirs ALL Up!!

I Have had a few friends who have recieved Bans, so I am not taking sides, some have been very HARD done by, others not!!

Generally, as a betting man, I could easily tell you who would be due for a ban, by their table or forum demeanour, It aint fookin Hard!!

Many Years ago, after getting fed up with being in Trouble, A&E, Court cases, & problems....I decided to take some responsibilty for my actions & consider the position of others!

Funny, since then life got easier, more fun,  and I never had to watch my back [so much]!!

Things Can turn around, IF WE ALL TRY!!

    I am!!!

I endorse everything Joe has said but wish to pick up on an extremely important point that Dave (hitman) touched upon, ie;.... ..."some have been very HARD done by, others not!!"....... it is this inconsistency of the manner that these bans are now being meted out that is concerning me greatly.

A quality and open forum must be able to debate any gripes or deeds of perceived injustices (call it whatever you like), it is surely something to be welcomed and not brushed under the carpet just as much as recommendations/commendations and compliments are obviously welcomed, if this forum is to survive and not die on it's feet as it seems to being doing.

Getting the consistency in rightly banning someone is the key but that can only be done by skilled and intelligent people who should be able to differentiate and empathise when someone has a rant when they feel a great injustice has been done, rather to someone else who is just vindictive and a cyber bully.

Please get that balance right and we can move forward, get it wrong, we all suffer the consequences.

I hope this isn't too off topic and is just an idea....

Could a sky players group be set up where a number of the reg players met (in today's day and age I would suggest virtually) on a monthly (?) basis where key issues were discussed. There seems to be far too much of the forum being cluttered up with points which could easily get sorted by a bit of communication between sky and the players. The group of players could either be voted in or possibly selected by sky....or maybe some of both. Other players then comunicate issues to members of the group and the key issues can then be communicated to sky. Both sides should gain out of this, if the players don't get what they want (and I mean sensible requests) then they are likely to vote with their feet and sky loses out on money. Sky gives players more of what they want/becomes known as a site that listens to its players then it retains players and will grow through the improved reputation it would get.

If the above happened I think it would help players communicate views in a sensible manner and make them feel like their views are being heard and maybe stop some of the ranting posts where people just feel like they are not being listened to.

As I said just an idea...flame away!

    Hi Matt

A very good idea which i am in favour of 100%. However, it won't solve all the apparent problems but at least  will add another layer of 'discussion and recommendation' to be considered by sky. There will be some that will direct their abuse at 'The Commitee' as Colin Crompton used to see(Wheeltappers and Shunters Club) however, i suspect, due to their nature.
By the way i thoroughly enjoyed the roller but you owned me early doors on my lhs on my debut. That aggression ...phew!  like to discuss poker play sometime but my forum message board won't send though will receive!!

It seems a bit of a convoluted way to make things run a bit easier when all it would really need to stop the forums being cluttered up would be a stickied FAQ specifically for poker on the front page and more experienced Customer Care staff who understand the game of poker and have a better understanding of the technical side. Make it  easier to contact Skypoker too, Ive just opened Help and Support and after clicking through about 6 pages I finally found the E-mail address. We need a contact us button specifically for the poker on the first page.
