The trilogy continues, with...

Episode II: Attack of the Kendall

Yes, Sky Poker is live again at 7pm on 861, and at 10pm on Sky Sports 4 / HD4.

tikay and I will start the show with live coverage of a £600 Gtd Timed Tournament.

At 8pm, it's the Poker Clinic, so please send in your Hand IDs. And, at 9pm, we'll spend sixty minutes reviewing play from the Master Cash tables.

This week's Top of the Pots countdown kicks off at 10pm. Then, at 11pm, expect highlights from the £12k Sky Sports Bounty Hunter.

Have to say, I'm pretty excited about the release of a certain smartphone this Friday. I placed my order within hours of last week's announcement :-) So, let's talk technology...

Which gadget has transformed your life? Alternatively, have you ever invested in a gizmo which became obsolete in less than a year?*

(* I bought TWO MiniDisc players. Can you beat that?!? If so, you might win free entry to next Tuesday's £6k Open!)

    Hi guys,
enjoy the show. The reason I'm getting in touch is I've just watched a top of the pots replay I recorded this morning. On the show TK  says you don't get any arguments/fighting in crown green bowling. Being a crown green bowler I beg to differ, the Leagues I play in are are forever arguing and occasionally it has come to blows,
It's funny that I saw this show today as I have just come back from the finals day at the Waterloo in Blackpool which is the Bowling equivalent of Wemberly. lol.

    hi sodall,
i used to play bowls myself.just stopped playing this Apri in fact,so that i can play 'even more poker'  lol
i know what you mean as on more than 1 occasion i've felt pretty close to doing it myself, not that i would,of course. ha ha.
i used to play table tennis and i heard of a fight that happened one night between two players.
    the story goes...
as it goes they were both called Phil, not sure if there might be any connection there.  lol
one was ranked higher than the other in the Devon rankings and the other was ranked higher in the National rankings.
so not being able to agree who was the better player, they fought it out, like true sportsmen.
both players were in there 50's at the time so i'm guessing it would have been quite funny to watch.
    oh,and the even funnier thing....
they both played together in the same team, with another player called Phil would you believe!!!  true story. lol

Hi Mr Dall - I will call you "So" if you don't mind.

So, So, so you get into barneys at Crown Green Bowls, & come to blows? Or did you mean bowls, now blows?

    All very confusing.

I'm aware of "Waterloo", in Blackpool of all places, having such eminence in the genteel world of Bowls. Very famous.

At one time, I thought I'd take up Bowls when I retired, but if there are arguments & stuff, I think I'll swerve it, I'm done with aggro stuff. Fishing is what I shall do when my time is up here, peace & quiet, lovely countryside to admire, a good book to read, & no barneys. Heaven.

Please James, as show 'boss', could you just read out my attempt at last week's Anna's limerick. I pestered poor Anna as she hadn't read it out during the evening only to find that the email had failed to deliver the next day.
Please pass on my apologies to Anna....i even pestered her on twitter and feel awful. As it was about her , i thought it was good fun which is what i'm having more and more on the site thanks to Woogie's afternoon league. Great finish last sunday and there were still four possible winners with 8 players left on the final day! Congrats to DTWbandit who eventually won. Cheers...

    ANNA'S LIMERICK:
There was a presenter in Notts
Who affected them all with the hots.
    She flitted in and out
    With a "lamp holder" shout
Until they all ran away with their pots

Note. Pots as in pint or chip.....

PS Tikay from evidence i see on the site forum thank you for your input but you are working too hard , you know!

It may be an urban Myth but I was told a London borough bought a fleet of Sinclair C5's and it proved to be a very worthwhile investment when they were sold

I'd like to nominate car anti friction strips as a useless invention.
Did they actually have any effect?
Surely James you've travelled behind a car with the two rubber strips bouncing merrily on the tarmac, more often than not, one strip would go missing days after fitting!
Some boffin made millions charging £10 for two pieces of rubber that were proved later to have insignificant benefit!

However if they'd attached them to Trev Harris in the presenters challenge and Rich Orford at SPT Brighton. With the excessive speed of their exits who knows what benefits may have been discovered.

The gadget that is without doubt worth it's weight in gold to an online poker player. Has to be the microwave oven!
4 minutes to heat up the curry in a structured break leaves a minute to make the coffee on an all night session!

Yes, my family had a Betamax VCR from 1983-1989! Superior picture and sound quality to VHS. Shame it lost the format war...

What about a Zune? Anyone willing to admit to buying one of those?

    However...

Microwave ovens play havoc with wi-fi signals!

without a dought the best gadget i had was my sinclair spectrum 48k plus (i dont think you can run a toothbrush on that sort of memory now) and playing jet set willy i would spend hours trying to load up games with a casette tape only to go through hours of the loading process and putting up with the wavy lines and booooo booooop booooooooooo booooop then an anoying scrambling sound before it crashed and chewed the tape up. (i think there were subliminal messages in it and is why my brain is like it is now.

How about greatest comeback by a 'gizmo'?

I was really taken aback or even taken back, when my 11 year old daughter, expressed her excitement at spotting the latest technical innovation in the shops......

    A TEASMADE!!!

Imagine that, a machine that gets a cup of tea ready, for when you wake up in the morning!
