Thanks for advice everyone....some great posts there.

Poker can DO ONE!!!!! (til friday)

Gonna spend some quality time with the family, dig out the old xbox and have a break for a bit. I have got a big test coming up on Thursday as part of my job so I can concentrate on that too.

Not sure what I plan on playing on Friday.....dont even wanna think about it tbh!!!

I wont be on the forum til Friday either so thanks again for the advice and have fun at the tables.

Right, I am back on the tables after my break. Didn't even miss playing really which shows me that having a break was def the right thing to do.

In my work life I passed the practical side of my Trade Test so that was a BIG weight of my shoulders......I could come back to poker with a clear head!

Played a few mtt's to get me back into the swing of things, had a couple of min cashes and was close to a decent cash in the mini BH where I finished 10th (I got my chips in the middle as a big fav AK<AJ so I'm happy with how I played).

Finally sat down for a couple of sessions of the enemy that is cash!!!!! First session was AWFUL and I thought here we go again....I stood up after 90 mins 18quid down.......but I aint giving up, I am determined to become a profitable cash player!!!!!!

Second session went a lot better and I have just finished after managing to claw back the first sessions loss!

So the plan is............FRESH START, stick to 10nl until I can beat it before moving back up and most importantly I want to start enjoying the game again!

    Results:

    10nl
    Profit Today = +£0.72
    Overall Profit = +£0.72

    Total Profit = -£265.71

As you can see, I am carrying over my losses from before but starting at 10nl as a new start......hopefully I can start to pull myself back into profit...........I WILL BEAT CASH!!! (may not be true)

Gl at the tables all :)

Just finished another 2 hour session on the 10nl tables.....another winning one, I haven't had 2 winning sessions in a row for quite some time!!

The only annoying thing about the session was having to move tables a few times due to the tables breaking up, I think I must have logged on just as people were leaving to watch the footy.

Had an enjoyable battle on one of my tables with an unfamiliar name....quite frankly he was awful, literally playing EVERY hand regardless of the action beforehand..........and he was running like god which made it quite a difficult situation for me. I sat there just waiting for a monster to stack him and it finally came when I flopped 2 pair after I had raised pre...got the lot in against his top pair....he hit runner runner straight. I managed to claw a couple of quid back off him and it was fun playing for a change.....I love these kinda duels when playing on the cash tables, just hope he isn't running so hot if we meet again.

Other tables were pretty standard, won a nice pot with KK />QQ.

First time in a couple of weeks where I have genuinely wanted to sit down and play. I'm glad the love for the game seems to be returning :)

This is exactly my thoughts reading this - it's already hard enough to find good seats away from people like Tintin, Shaun09 and Lambert!

I also can't help but feel that every time an unamed luckbox is being talked about at these levels, that I must be a potential candidate - my recent bankroll changes have definitely been a result of giving more bad beats than I've taken!

All the very best though OP - I'd envisage that dropping back down to this level will, albeit maybe slowly, see you comfortably regain those losses from higher levels.  A lot reads like your timing was just off and you stepped up just at the time the poker gods wanted to turn everything against you.

Just don't take my money too fast please :)

The 2 hands above are the biggest pots that I lost in what was a badly played losing session. As much as it pains me to say I am playing awful poker atm......and still on a major downswing in all formats of the game. It is having a big effect on my play, my confidence is zero. I get my chips in good and I lose, I dont know when I'm beat and I'm chasing without the odds when behind.

I have just had 2 week long breaks, I have dropped down the levels, played less tables, played more tables.........the 2 hands above I rightly lost it was awful poker, but when I play correctly it's still not happening for me.

8 weeks and counting.......how long can downswings last? It wasnt a big losing session but I havent ran deep or ft a tourney for a while either (not surprised if I play hands like the ones above, but I have played well occasionally lol)

I aint moaning or down about it, I still love poker, but it's hard sometimes haha

This has to be the most depressing diary ever written haha.

I started it back when I was running good and wanted to start playing cash......I evidently can't play cash and the blooming diary has been a curse!!!!

I have got faith but playing with no confidence is worse than playing drunk imo........bit of a vicious cycle atm, can't win cos I have no confidence.......won't have any confidence til I win........

I'd like to think people going through a downswing can read this and think "oh well at least I aint as bad as him" so maybe there is silver lining to this thread!!!! haha

Oh well, Man City are out of the Champions League and Grimsby are top of the Conference so it aint all doom and gloom :)
