Agree with this captain, does this mean you've been running deep in a few more mtt's recently? :)

    haha. Rumbled.

Everything on this forum is a brag if you look into it! ;)

Just the usual speed-donkathons where my 12k stack looks great @ 400/800, not so great 5 seconds later when it's 600/12k! :P

ty & Geldy for ur posts.

I agree with opening post and also that prize structure needs a review. In reality, they both impact on each other - shovefest at end, devalues multi-hours of play at highest cash payouts. It's a bit mad really.

    Yo Doh!

Just checked the lobbies of the upcoming UKOPS series....

All these MTT's have those 500/1K & 5k/10k APART FROM..

    29/10   MINI UKOPS2
    30/10   MINI UKOPS3
    31/10   MINI UKOPS4

(I can see a pattern already)

    2/11  UKOPS6  MAIN & MINI  (Both rebuys)

    4/11  £50K MAIN & £10K MINI  - there is a 500/1k level but no 5k/10k level.

Not sure if the above will help/hinder your request, but dont shoot the messenger :)

agree totally with your OP dohh i would rather be able to play a bit of poker at the later stages of a mtt than being in shove or fold mode.i think the prize structure needs to be looked at 3 1/2 to 4hrs of play and just about getting your BI back a we bit of tweeking would be great..

Thanx for posting all. Inevitably tournaments get shallower towards the end. But losing 20/40 when the average stack is 80-100xbbs to add 500/1k when the average stack is 12-18xbb would benefit every single tournament without making it any longer. Was hoping for more replies from more of the regular tourny crushers. Maybe they're happy with the way things are, or maybe they haven't seen the thread yet. Will leave it up for a few days before asking for it to be sent 'upstairs'. If you've seen it, and agree, (or disagree) plz post :) ty.

+1 to doh the sudden jump as a habit of knocking me off my ladder. a more steady approach to the late stage would give me a firmer grip.

    steadier curve would be better
    +
flipping for large relative pay jumps is never desired

bit more play but you can't help it unless you play a longer time based MTT

if it's a 5 hr special then shoving is all your going to be doing

if you flux it so you have antes + longer clocks then it may induce more action mid-late stages so you don't get as many runners sitting around and then there's such a large field flipping because stacks are shallow

passive fields = more runners flipping 10-20bb  imo in the late stages
