Just my opinion, but I think this forum may well be going the way of many others. There seem to be far fewer posts nowadays? It's maybe just an inevitable thing with so many other avenues for people to chat now. Fault could possibly be looked at from both sides.  We as players tend to form our own groups and talk there instead. I'm guilty of this myself. Maybe people are shy of writing on a forum and prefer to do it amongst people they know. Maybe we don't welcome new posters as much as we should do. For a long time I've said that the forum is way too messy. Look at all the tabs on the left hand side. Julian Thews blog for example. He left a long time ago. 4 strategy tabs. The redundant ones should just be taken away and the clinics should just be consolidated into one place. I think Sky are very good but the community is an embarrassment in many ways. Things should be kept up to date. We've all said how poor the software is. It's so far behind the times. These are some of my thoughts. What can be done to be done to improve things in your opinion? Or maybe I'm wrong and it's just fine as it is? Maybe it's just natural that things come and go and most don't really care whether we have a forum or not now? Personally I think it would be a shame if it died. Use it or lose it, as they say.

Good post this. I still enjoy the forum and check/read it daily. I'd miss it if it wasn't here. Yours is one of several threads that I'm pleased to see when there has been an update yet I don't help to keep it ticking along by contributing anywhere near often enough. Why? Am I able to type? (y), Articulate? (y, well almost), interested in the subject's? (y), Selfish and lazy?(yyyyyy).
I can't be the only one. I think us readers/non-posters are going to have to up our post counts and support those of you who put yourselves out there and allow us a little peek into your lives. I may just pop in randomly and tell you about my day, it'll be good for the insomniacs.

Todays offering...got up, made scrambled eggs on toast, consumed same. Showered, dressed, drove to golf club, met 2 pals. Spent 9 holes bemoaning endless groups of elderly lady golfers for ridiculously slow play( golf should seldom take longer than 1 3/4 hours per 9 should it? Even thats leisurely.), hacked it round. Cheered up when they all quit after 9. Hacked it round a little quicker on back 9. Consumed 2 pints and a buttie sat in sunshine. Drove home, sat out back in more sunshine(that was summer.). Went inside, turned computer on. Played several DYMs, some featuring a plump Yorkshireman. Lost a few quid. Typed this. Chicken Madras for tea in a minute. Mrs **** out at Netball practice tonight and I can't face Arsenal/West Brom so gonna enter a few tourneys and probably win the Main later on. Probably watch an episode of Daredevil after unless its really late. Rock and Roll Baby, live fast, die young and all that.

Man, they're all gonna be begging for more along those lines.

Back on topic, you are right about the links on the left. Lots of redundant ones need removing and a few of the others could be condensed into one. The clinic used to get a lot more posts before the strat tabs appeared. No mention of our Ambassador and his musings anywhere yet theres still a link to Thewy's blogs even though he's no longer sponsored and actually back doing a proper job. A little tidy up is all it needs.

Timmy will be back off his jollies and posting soon, that'll help yourself and TK keep the forum ticking over.
Now if we can just tempt Dev and Lambo back into action.......

Diary of a Spanker is definitely needed.

    Good post
I think a few bits need addressing.

    Poached eggs?
Sigh, Eggs Benedict only in here please

    Hacking
That's fine. That's what I do.  Disappointed  not to not hear of any screaming at the ladies to play you through or rants about they shouldn't be allowed on the course in the first place. It may be frowned upon slightly but whacking a few drives when they're not quite out of range usually does the trick.

    Dyms and fat people
Please try to refrain from beating said Yorkshiremans QQ with A8 in future. Yes, I've heard all about it.

    Chicken Madras?
Madras good, chicken not so much. Lamb or Beef

    Dev
You're right. He could well be the saviour of The Sky forum. Someone mentioned Top of the Posts in an earlier post. Think Dev played it a record number of times.

    R.I.P Prince

    Bonafide genius or overrated?
    Somewhere in between for me.
Purple Rain and Sign O The Times are pure classic albums. The rest of it just kind of washed over me. Insipid almost.
I'm showing my age here, you two do remember him don't you?

Not my cup of tea but can appreciate he was quite the superstar.

I dread the day, however many years down the line, that my musical heroes from my formative years start popping their clogs. In theory it should be a while away, but 2016 has been brutal so far for celeb deaths so you just never know.

I'd say that Plumpy would be more into the likes of Hanson.

I have a vague recollection that they had a mahoosive hit once upon a time.
Could you just jot down a few lines of the chorus to help jog my memory?

This thread was seriously lacking in credibility anyway.

The last 2 days have ensured it now has none.

I really appreciate this post Paul, you made some fine points.

Let's not over-egg it though, we need to keep it real, & be honest, & not tarnish the truth with misleading facts.

I can't see a link to Julian's Blog. What browser are you using? Try refreshing your caches, or whatever they are.
