James, I'm wondering what your and Ryan's thoughts are on the popularity of DYM's on Sky.
I cut my teeth playing thousands of play-to-a-winner sit and go's and in the last year or so, since I began playing on Sky, I've been surprised by how infrequently these run here compared to DYM's. My opinion is that novice players would benefit far more from playing this tournament structure than they do from learning the game at DYM tables, though I've heard Tikay and other analysts suggesting beginners play DYM's at the genesis of their poker career.
I tend to think that DYM's are really only good for teaching people to play tight and find the fold button and that they don't offer the same broad range of tests and learning opportunities as regular SNG's.
What are your and Ryan's opinions on this? Am I talking twaddle?
What is your take on the fact that when you accidently press the fold button and the message appears about how you can check that you cant close that warning and still put a bet in? you HAVE to check or fold?
could you not do a promo based on SNG results over a week or so, like the kings promo it could be seperated into different stakes, discount DYMs from the promo and just say the 10-20 players who get the most wins recieve whatever the prize is set as. i dont know if sky poker track results from the sng's or are capable of it as i dont really know what im talking about. lol
all i want for xmas is a Guarantee from Sky that my next SPT seat draw wont involve me sitting between Glitterbabe,Jen Mason and Lolufold on the same table.
