Merrrrrry Christmassssssss!

Yup, I'm in fine festive form and looking forward to bringing you the final Sky Poker live show before Chrimbo.

It's this Sunday night from 7pm- Ch 861 of course!

Joining me, Richard 'the red-nosed' Orford, will be Stuart 'Claus' Rutter for 5 hours of seasonal japes, tomfoolery and a sleigh-load of your poker!

Here's the line-up, which will beat the heck out of repeats of The Snowman on the other channels...

7pm-8pm – Tonight on Sky Poker – A look at all upcoming tournaments that night and coverage of Santa’s Grotto prize MTT from 7:15pm.

8pm-9pm – Analyse My Play – featuring a couple of players in the Primo. If you'd like this to be you, then email us skyopen@bskyb.com with your details.

 

9pm-10pm – Now on Sky Poker – more coverage from Santa’s Grotto MTT

10pm-11pm – Top Of Sky Poker – UKOPS ME Semi sat coverage, tournament starts @ 9:30pm

11pm-12pm – Sky Poker Highlights – Live late-night coverage of the 10K Primo


We need a couple of volunteers who'll be playing in the Primo that night to have their play featured on the show throughout the Analyse My Play section at 8pm. If you'd like this to be you, please email the show with your details. We'd also love it if we could speak to you on the phone!

It's a massive show and therefore we have a massive prize to give away. Wait for it...1 UKOPS main event seat worth £110! (taking place on Dec 30th)

To be in with a chance of winning this: simply give me... 

Your most original poker tip

Something you can dream up, which we genuinely haven't heard before. The 3 most clever, insightful, thought-provoking, leftfield, or even downright entertaining will go into the hat.

And, look out during the show for Stu to mention a line from a famous Xmas song. As soon as you hear it, email into skyopen@bskyb.com with the title of the song, (don't post it on here unless you want loads of people to copy you!) and 3 correct entries will also go into the hat.

We'll then make the draw from those 6 names at the end of the show!

    Original Poker Tip - Ensure you wash and spray yourself before sitting at the table because otherwise people will look at you wierdly and will most likely think you have horrendous hygiene.

    Evening Guys,

      Merry Christmas and a prosperous UKOPS to all Sky players.


     Position is very important in poker so read the Kama Sutra to find the one that suits you; in my experience the "padlock" works well after most flops.

    Hi and merry christmas to you all,

    I have to say i am very dissapointed with Sky-Santa in yesterdays £10k bounty hunter i was drawn on the same table as sky-santa, great i thought some good banter ,some christmas fun, maybe win a place in the santas grotto freerole (which i failed to get into) but guess what not a bit of it sky-santa was blinded out no chat no banter no christmas fun and no entry into the santas groto freerole, very disappointing show from you guys at sky,

    i won santa's grotto last year, my 3D TV is great. I have not had time to play and get my C4P up to 2000 this year, but should i not get a place as i am the current grotto champion of 2011. lol :D

    Your most original poker tip:


    This may sound crazy, but if I find myself losing concentration at key times or i feel like I am falling behing in a large field MTT - I pretend that I am making a coaching video. I explain to myself everything I'm doing any why. Then when i say something stupid like "Yes, thats an easy call on the bubble with A6 when the tight big stack raises", I catch myself before I actually do it.

    It works great for me when playing online, Ive tried it at a casino and it took 3 days of psych evaluations for the local hospital to release me, so stick to online and preferably....when alone. :)

    Remember 3 of you will go into the hat for that UKOPS main event seat.

    And another 3 names will be added when we launch our Xmas song competition at the top of the show. Look out for that just after 7pm.

    So you'll have a 1 in 6 chance to land a main event seat if you get in the hat!

    you may think im mad but i have improved my game lately for this reason

    I imagine i am playing with 53 cards the extra one being a wild card joker, this devalues my hand and i play much tighter.
    silly i know but it seems to work unless i get a rush of blood or the mrs wants and early night LOL

    poker tip always know how many chips you have when you go for a break, mistakes do happen when lower chips are raced off.
