Hi Dev first time ive posted on your thread but i do follow them all, just thought id show a bit of support as you seem a bit down in your last post. I think fwiw if you just stick with the plan don't play to many tables you will find things pick up as you said you have already written off the £313 allocated to your cash venture so i know its not perfect brm but just keep to 5/10 where your getting to know who is who and im sure you will find yourself adapting good luck with this and stick to the plan!
After a year grinding multi-table DYMs a disappointing start was pretty much a dead cert imo. It would take anybody a while to adapt to a very different type of game and change style accordingly.
If I were you Ian I'd spend time looking through yesterdays hand histories trying to learn how you can improve before starting the next session. Good luck.
Hi Dev i know you have set yourself targets and all, but try playing a mtt low level, but play it like a cash game. There are a lot of cash players who play this way and are successful. In saying that DONT i have let the cat out the bag lol. But you know where i'm coming from. DYMs you have to play defensive and it's a big change to cash, anyway just a sugestion. Posted by rusty_ring
hi rusty, thanks for the advice mate, any suggestions as to which mtt's to play? yes, cash is certainly is a more aggressive looser game and totally different to how i'm used to playing dym's. i have always struggled playing cash but am going to give it my best shot here, even if it means losing £300 or so in the process. i'm sure it is more of a mental barrier as much as anything, also i need to make the necessary adjustments to my game, which clearly i haven't been able to do so far.
one of the main problems i seem to come up against, time and time again is when i have a big hand and run into another big hand and i lose an all-in,in this case now £10. which therefore becomes a £20 swing.it does seem to happen a lot and these seem to determine how i end up for each session. i'm not sure what if anything i can do about this,or is it simply 'all part of the game' i guess i could always 'back down' from going all-in,but with money already in the pot and with a descent hand that seems a bad play also.
anyway, that aside,i am quite happy with how i played last night and will give it my best as always again later tonight. don't think i'll be playing for 7 hours though. also 4 tables seems enough for the moment i think.

ty russ, yes i was a bit down after y'days session, but i was expecting the loss as i have already mentioned. posting straight after a session is probably not the best idea, especially when you have just lost,i guess. i'm over it now and looking forward to another session later. thanks for posting mate and the support.very much appreciated. dev

thanks Gary, yes i'll deffo go through some hands.i've never done it before so it should make interesting if painfull reading. gl with your challenge too. dev
GL Dev. would help you alot if you could post some hands, it's really not that difficult....... Posted by DOHHHHHHH
hi DOH thanks mate,
it is for me mate, trust me,i've spent hours in the past trying to get it right.sometimes well occasionally it would come out right, but mostly not.
i might give it another go,but at the moment i've messed up my mouse...somehow,as it now clicks using both sides as i'm now playing right handed instead of my usual left due to being in pain still after last months grindathon.
i will try and sort it out though,as i do need help. it does kind of feel like cheating though asking for opinions on hands i've played, but i guess it's common practise amongst poker players to get their views.it's something i've not done and i guess i'm just an old duffer and i like to try and work things out for myself.
How hard can it be, transfer you early stages DYM game to cash - play tight aggresive and win money so shhhhhhh and win gl Posted by rancid
hi rancid, did all that for 7 hours last night mate. it always seems to me that i'm losing 2 or 3 all-ins with good hands and either get out drawn and lose to turn/river card,or opponent seems to have an even better full house etc... and that's what is denying me the win. any tips?
i woulda thought this be plain sailing for a dym player to make easy monies at cash stick at it m8 u will win abc gets u along way on 10 nl or below u will come out on top for sure Posted by IDONKCALLU
thanks Steve, nice to hear from you mate,i know it's not been easy for you. i've been through it myself with my step-dad,and it's emotional...i'm crying now writing this, and it's been 8 yrs.
thanks for the nice words mate.i'm hoping you are right. i'm pretty sure my game has moved on over the last 12 months or so playing dym and now it's just about making any changes needed for playing cash,i hope. as i said i'm pretty happy with how i played most of y'days session,of course i made some mistakes,i lost. i'll try again later and even though i'm not expecting to win,i'm always hopeful.

run better )
The thing you should concentrate on is getting your money in ahead, the variance will work out for you in the end
If you getting it in ahead then that is all you can do
coolers r just that, part n parcel of the game - just like being outdrawn
You can still play +EV poker and lose 3 sessions on the bounce

thanks mate, as i said i don't think i'm playing particularly bad,but it never fails to amaze me just how many times i see the worst hand hit and win. i'll continue playing the next couple of sessions the only way i know how, tight and aggressive as i dare, and see how it goes. i'm just starting to look through some of my hands from y'day and haven't come to any solid conclusions yet. dev
I think to a totally new cash player, making comparisons to dym play is a bad idea. Can see where you'z are coming from, but it's totally different and should be approached differently. Not very often (if ever) that you get tough or even any turn and river decisions in a dym. Need to start all over again, this is why I'd encourage posting some hands........ Even if you type 1 or 2 out dev, it will help. Tight is still right tho, that's for sure Posted by DOHHHHHHH
thanks DOH
tried posting...looked fine my end,but didn't come out right... i'll try again

I'm sure you've been asked/told this before...
but....
you're using internet explorer browser to copy the HH from? Not chrome, not the download, ot anything else?
When you copy the hand, start bottom right, and click/hold, drag up to top left, but don't copy outside of the actual HH box itself.....
if that's not working I really dn't understand why not ..............
hi m8, i've uninstalled chrome,so that's not there causing me any problems. i have the hand up on my hand history go from b/right to top left, all goes blue, then press copy inside box go back to post and paste, it looks ok my end, apart from suits not showing properly then press add post and it's not coming out right.
