Hey guys how long does the main event at the SPT's generally last? Just a ball park figure would be great! The missus is pressuring me for something on the sunday afternoon! (not that i expect to be playing late on )
Direct buy in will only be available for Priority Members for now
Hi TK.
I have introduced my girlfriend to poker and we love watching the show most nights, especially when you and Anna are on. A proper comedy act.
Anyway, when we heard about this event, we decided we would attend and we are looking forward to the hotel recommendation.
Then we saw the above comment. Is this just a temporary thing as we had planned on buying in on the day and would obviously not want to turn up having booked the hotel only to find out we cannot enter direct.

I can't speak for Tikay but I would not leave it to buy in on the day. I think they will soon open it up to buy in for anyone in the lobby (online) and that would be your best bet at getting a seat. Sometimes you can buy in on the day but usually as an alternate which means you will have to wait for other players to get knocked out before you can start and are not gauranteed a seat.
In that case, I won't risk registering on the day. But when you say register online, do you think you might give me a link as I am new to the site. I will keep an eye on it to see when reg becomes available for us non-vip type people
If anyone needs some cheap hotels I know the area pretty well and can point you in the right direction of good locations and bad locations in regards to getting to the Casino. Although you can't stay at my house.
Post up here if you've seen some good deals nearby and I'll give you the rundown if it's a good idea or not if I can.

Any thoughts on the Travelodge on the High st? It seems the most reasonable price wise .The most important thing is access to casino. I am getting a train up so will be walking or Taxi to and from casino. It looks close on the map as the crow flies but what with one way systems and railway lines could be a longer drive/walk. Thanks

It's fine, no more no less.
As far as access to the Westfield centre, you're good. They built a huge bridge which links the Town centre and the Shopping centre, it pretty much goes over the Train station you see on the map. You can walk it in 5 to 10.
Stratford High Street can be interesting late at night. If I was you I wouldn't take my time getting from A to B but on the whole it's fine.

Thanks Tommy. I was wondering about walking back to the hotel with all my winnings in my pocket but then I remembered my record playing live is about as good as Phil tuffnells batting.
