Another exit hand in the main tonight over half the field gone and i just knew that 9 was coming on the river
not a great night gone deep as usual and getting it in good and losing as usual. But I do see a lot of regulars on the tables that seem to play and go deep themselves quite often. My notes on said players are pretty bad to be fair lol. But I may have to change said notes due to my outlook on some of the plays they make. I always was a bit of a nit as a player and fairly aggresive as well and usually get my chips in good but still losing. And used to be frustrated at players either shoving over the top on draws or calling me down. I kinda have adjusted my game to deal with this kind of play and in some ways have also opted to take this approach myself on occasion which has also changed my tactics as a whole. Im not sure if it was me not quite understanding that you have to take these risks sometimes in the past and getting frustrated that they hit and thinking these players were worse than i thought they actually were. Dont get me wrong I still think some plays are terrible (you know the ones that call raises with J3 suited see a flush draw and shove on ya). But i am understanding more and more the reasons as to why they do it. Maybe this is where i have gone wrong in the past and taking more risks does actually get you further than one might think playing too tight does.
Poker never ceases to amaze me at how much you can learn no matter how many years you have been playing. Every day is a learning experience and I still have a lot to learn.
Below is a good example of hands i just wouldn't generally play in the past and the other i would generally fold (still do dependant on reads or feelings of the player). But I think my problem in the past was playing scared to a degree. Having more confidence in my play and committing to a hand and forgetting the bad beats I have had in the past is the way forward. At least for me it is. If i think i am ahead im going for it not folding as much as i used to.
Dont get me wrong there are certain risks I wont take, but I am taking a bigger percentage more than I used to and its not bothering me as it has in the past If I do go out. Id like to think that my game is vary different every time i play and i'm not predictable, I may play one way one game and change it on the next but seem to play more consistently with confidence and this is definitely making a big difference in my game. Im still learning and I think learning from others and reevaluating what others tactics are has given me a different outlook on the game and the way I play.
Would like to hear from the successful regs as to what changed your game in terms of success rate and if you have had the same experience as i have on your journey in terms of loosening up, or when you grew in confidence?
Not a great night broke even, was doing ok in the main but made a silly shove against a player who was betting generally with nowt every hand. Flop came paired Js after i raised pre but he happend to have pk As when i shoved 'whoops'. What was i saying about not taking silly risks. Still got some bounties so didn't cost me nowt either, but disappointed in my self for the move i made on this one so have given my self a slap.
Did well in the 3 quiddy bh just bubbled final table by 2 after hitting my A on the river and K8 hitting 2 pair.

Another horrible button exit grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, not sure who had the better percentage, but managed to cash in two tonight so have broken even after sataliting into the 6k and doing one buy in. Quite happy with my performance that i manage to final table at least one a night generally and variance goes both ways not just against me. My main goal is to get at least one main event decent cash then reevaluate my goals.
I think i need to keep track of how many mtts im playing and see where im performing the most. At the moment it seems the 1k 3.30 seems the best one i'm doing in at the moment as went quite deep as most other nights and seems best value for money.
