Who won what on UKOPS Day 6, Wednesday April 8th

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 158,810

Morning.

Another busy night, though with 4 of the 6 UKOPS events non Bounty Hunters numbers were naturally a bit subdued, eventually coming in 49% above guarantees. A little strange to describe 49% above guarantee as "subdued" but these are strange times. Once again, the Mini came in at a huge number, with a prize pool of almost £10,000.

There was another super-sized field for the Rewards Freeroll, 1,774 this time.

Away from UKOPS, Sheriff missed it's guarantee. "Missed it's guarantee" are words we have not seen for a while. Only by 3 entries, so barely even a flesh wound, but certainly cause for an arched eyebrow.

    UKOPS 33 £2,000 PLO8 (£2,580)

Good to see a UKOPS PLO8 comfortably cover Guarantee, they very often miss.

Pride of place went to No_1donk, who also had a small cash in Sunday's UKOPS Mini. AliB1995 returned from a 10 day absence to run 2nd.

In 3rd was Claudecat, & unless I'm much mistaken, he used to go by the name of Junglecat on many sites, & was one of the 3 best poker updaters in the business - still is in fact - along with Jen Mason & Rich "Tighty" Prew. He is or was (hopefully still is...) the partner of Jen Mason, who so many remember fondly from the TV Show, & their combined IQ's must total about 3 zillion.

Pomfrittes was 4th. As many of you know, 2020 began dreadfully for Pommy, but let's hope life is getting better as he's a grand fella, not much older than me I suspect.

In yesterday's report, tomgoodun said it was one of his ambitions to be on the FT of a UKOPS & get a mention - well now he's done it 2 days running. He's extremely humble - "I got lucky" - but at the poker table he's actually a bit of a beast.

Now a quite remarkable stat - in 6th was Doobs, who at various moments last night, was chip leader in THREE different UKOPS events - this, the Main, & the Mini. I watched most of this longingly - jeez, I so adore the 4 card formats - & it looked to me as if Doooobs had it in the bag, but it was not to be.

Too many Forum regulars to name cashed, most remarkably @dragon1964.

    UKOPS 34 £15,000 Rebuy (£20,350)

Almost £5,000 to the winner, quite a bink by Sky Poker standards, & it went to MollysDad1.

Runner-up was the versatile MRBLEWPIE, who seems equally competent at cash or MTT's, NLH or PLO. He was 3rd in Summit last week too.

    5th was sikas, now there's a blast from the past. He was a big-time Sky Poker player around 10 years ago, in fact in 2011 he was 10th in the Sharky Most Profitable MTTers leader board. Quite interesting to see who else was on that list, which included;

    1st @TommyD
    2nd @SUPERSNEDD
    4th @lJAMESl
    5th @Nutter5932
    8th @beaneh
    9th @hurst05.

A whole lot of water has flowed under a lot of bridges since then.

IrishRose just missed the FT in 8th, Codfather from Team MII 9th, Donald 10th, with Doobs eventually finishing 16th, making it 2 cashes from 2 on the night. So far.

    UKOPS 35 £5,000 Mini Rebuy (£9,710)

It really is something to see these Minis coming in with such big numbers. It's less than 2 weeks since the Mini failed to start one evening & that caused stress levels to rocket, but after another little malfunction 2 days later everything has run like clockwork since. If only we knew what clockwork is or was. Does anyone out there still use a wristwatch, & if so, do you have to wind it up each day? What memories. Back in the day it was traditional to give long-serving employees a wristwatch upon their retirement, & I've just realised that I got my retirement watch.....20 years ago. Seems my retirement was a bit of a fail. It was wonderful for about 2 days, but doing nothing did not appeal for long. I still do nothing but I do spend an awful lot of time doing it.

NooGooood was too good, but the eye-opener was surely runner-up Doooobs, making it 2 FT's & 3 cashes from the first 3 UKOPS of the night.

In 3rd Foresight probably saw his exit coming.

    mnolan8317 is having a good UKOPS, 5th in the Day 1 £20 BH, 4th in the Day 3 £10k BH & 4th in this.

The Bates was 5th, Summers119 just missed the Final & there was another deep run by cabbaz.

    UKOPS 36 £4,000 Bounty Hunter (£7,220)

Dog Bloke almost inevitably got his UKOPS win, the bloke is an animal - if that's possible - once he gets a stack & 3/4 bets with all manner of assorted detritus.

4th was cabbaz, who ran 2nd in UKOPS 12 on Saturday & won Sheriff on Friday.

    £3,000 Bounty Hunter @ 7pm (£4,800)

Almost certainly a PB for cullum.

Another few bob for Team Backpack with Sharkio 4th & chrisdonkb 6th, in his 3rd FT of the session. Might be the first time 2 members of a Team have made the same Final.

RMC1888, who likes to mix it up, was 5th.

    £3,000 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£3,000)

Last night's black sheep was Sheriff, which surprisingly missed guarantee. It used to be £2,000 g'tee, became £3,000 g'tee, & has 3 times exceeded £5,000 & once bettered £6,000 in the last week or so. So hard to predict traffic in these volatile times.

Remarkably, MikeyW94 was winning for the 3rd time in a week, following victories in Quickdraw & the £1k BH.

Let's finish with some fun music again, as we did yesterday, & given that Sheriff let the side down last night, this, played by God, seems appropriate.

Who sung it first Clapton or Marley?
I could Google it but I remember the song being played by both artists regularly mid to late 70s

    @stokefc

Marley, for sure - he wrote it.

It became Clapton's sig eventually, of course.
