I've got 50k points , i'm pretty sure Sky had a Vegas freeroll ,possibly two, many years ago but it cost 10k points to enter , i used my points for that , can anyone else remember it ?
Truly staggering to see some of the poker points on this thread. It also begs the question as to why they are risking moving to a new platform when so much money is rolling in on here?
Could you provide us with any information in regards to what the DYMs will look like on Ipoker please?
For example ipoker currently have antes in their games, can we expect the same thing with skys exclusive DYM?
How will the structure compare will we still be getting the hypers(turbos) and the regular games?
Will there still be a wide range of buy ins from the 28p up to £55+?
Most importantly will the rake still be 10% or even maybe reduced?
Also aside from DYMs is there information on what we can expect in regards to rakeback? I believe with ipoker skins its up to the provider on what they offer with some skins offering a pathetic 10% and other skins like grosvenor offering a maximum of 40%
Cheers
The exclusive offering is still a WIP but for DYMs I'm thinking just 2 different structures is the way to go i.e Turbos and regulars starting from 28p. The loyalty scheme is also a WIP but I plan on running a very competitive rakeback scheme.
It will certainly be a lighter schedule of mainly low buy ins to run alongside the bigger network MTTs. As for how many run will ultimately depend on their popularity.
Hi James,
Just wanted to comment on this bit and lobby for adding some mid buy-ins (€25-100) to the proposed schedule.
There are plenty of UK players in that range who don’t currently play on sky due to the site’s limitations (non-ante, no downloadable hhs, etc.). The sky migration presents a unique opportunity to attract these players from other iPoker skins. If sky offers all the existing network games plus exclusive ones, why wouldn’t a UK player who plays that buy-in range choose Sky? Especially if, as you mentioned earlier, sky will offer competitive rakeback?
iPoker frequently has low-gtd tournaments in this range that don’t run unless they hit a minimum number of starters. But, when they do get going, they rarely overlay from what I’ve seen. These are mostly non-pko tournaments that don’t fire, whereas sky pkos would likely have no issue starting. Given that, I think the risk of offering these games with low gtds when sky joins the network is minimal.
I get the apprehension and negativity around the migration, but I see a solid opportunity here. Personally, I’d play all the €25+ games, as would plenty of current Sky regs, and I don’t see why existing ipoker UK players wouldn’t migrate if sky offered a more complete schedule.
I know the schedule is still a work in progress, but I wanted to share my thoughts on why focusing on low, sub-€20 games would be a mistake imo.
Sky have no reason to push mtts, there is already a schedule of tournaments for their customers to play, all that matters is they get their rake. So if you are a mtt player you need to look elsewhere, especially if you dont enjoy playing against bots (its amazing how many players in tournaments play identical there).
If you still believe that there can be a schedule also consider
- grosvenor ring fenced tournaments come with promotion and its 1 or 2 a month - when you log into ipoker skins you are directed to network games, you must search to find ringfenced - skypoker struggle to hit 1kgtd for £30 buyin, how can this game run with network scheduled mtt competition
I believe I read earlier in the conversation that player notes would not be carried over onto the new software.
As an idea for when the current software dies, would it be possible to let players see the notes others have written for them? It could be totally annonymous so you don't know who wrote what.
The software must have so much player note data stored over the last xx number of years, it seems a shame for all that data to go to waste.
Let's allow people to use it as a learning opportunity for themselves. I certainly want to know what people have picked up on about my game. You know, aside from "fish" and "lucky".

I'd rather not know...I'm sure there's a fair few notes on me I'd rather not read
Gonna predict some equilibrium occurring at the spin ups on ipoker if you don't drastically reduce the rake and the rake cap. It is absolutely not sustainable and once we have less highlighted games on the new software, probably less rakeback and promotions, and then huds too which will further merge the fields, you should quite quickly see problems.
The hud will highlight people's exact range in a lot of spots that are entirely solved so it will become even more of a **** shoot and equilibrise the field. After factoring rake you'll find the game probably unbeatable and will die out.
Another site offer the exact same format, literally, and they charge 1% rake vs Sky's 5% because they know that this format fundamentally requires very low rake to be a healthy ecosystem.
This is very sad news I came back to Sky has iPoker feels lifeless. Ridiculous late reg times and @Sky_Dave is there any news on whether cash games will be ring fenced in pounds there as iPoker is mostly in Euros.
Also if you play DYM's good luck on iPoker the rake there is simply too high.
Will the exclusive cash games still be similar to Sky cash games right now and not a limited number of tables and will it still be possible to start new tables if all are full?

Sorry if this seems a little doh duurrr but I'm not tech savvy at all.
