    I'm glad i voted retire because this is all sounding very depressing

    You are not alone, early indications suggest that quite a few will retire.

    I think being doom switched would see my luck improve.

    A 65% retention rate doesn't look too good among our small sample size, but sky will hope to make up the lost customers through new users joining from other ipoker skins. Interesting to see whether net users will be up or down.

    I am not sure what to do i am a creature of habit and i have played nearly all my poker on sky. Favourite memories are learning how to play omaha hi lo and completing the 1000 dym challenge

    This dropped all the way down to the 3rd page with it not being a sticky (probably should be) so my post should return it to the 1st page for those who haven't voted yet.

    Loads say they are going to/may retire. That's not quite the same thing. Poker players are notoriously resistant to change, and do tend to veer towards the "glass half empty" view.

    Will some retire? Of course. Will some decide to play elsewhere instead? Same. Similarly, there may be some British i-poker players on other skins who decide to give Sky a try.

    I think the first 3 months are going to be pivotal.

    Me? I am one of the few that plays on here largely because of the community spirit. And for the interaction, both on the site and this forum, with various regs/recs and, of course, @Tikay10.

    How much will that change things? I don't know.

    If i do not need to set up a new account will give it a try 1st started on sky when i was 56 now nearly 72 will be very disappointed if i lose my evening hobby

    would be cool if @Tikay10 could help identify a regular who lives near you, im sure they would pop round to help you get set up.

    on that note, im sure there will be an easy to follow youtube video out there once it switches over.....

    @daphne56

    Morning.

    You first played here on July 12th 2010 so coming up to 15 years & it's not cost you a penny, well done.

    You will NOT have to set up a new account, that side of things including player balances etc will stay exactly as & where they are, under the control of Sky Poker.

    Not many like change, but sometimes it has to be done. My advice would be to give it a try for a few weeks - time enough to get used to (or not) the different software, & then if you can't get comfortable with it, move elsewhere or quit. In your position, I'd stick to the Sky Poker ring-fenced games, as many (perhaps most?) will.

    Most Sky Poker players will stay here. A small % will move elsewhere, & an even smaller % will quit. (All IMO).

    PS - have a lovely Easter weekend.

    @Tikay10 will you be able to grace us with your presence on the PLO8 tables once the change to iPoker happens? It would be nice to donate funds to your retirement income again.

    On an unrelated note I presume Sky Poker can't offer the same 50%+rakeback that many of were getting on ipoker many years ago/ :D

    That's brilliant @Tikay10, fully deserving of a chirp, definitely worthy of a mention in that book you should write. :)

    @Tikay10, hello. Hope your well and enjoying the long weekend. Problem a stupid question, but what do you mean skypoker ring fenced games?

    It means that only SKYPoker players can play them ...... so basically as it is now. :)

    @spearsy136

    It's exactly as @MISTY4ME has described.

    The terminology is as follows...

    networked games

    These are games on i-poker which are available to anyone on any i-poker skin, not just Sky Poker. Big fields, big guarantees.

    ring-fenced games

    ONLY available to players who are registered with Sky Poker. So, the same games & same players as now, plus or minus any who either leave or join.

    @Sky__James wrote this a few days ago...

    "I know the Sky base love the 75/25 PKOs so these will be the most common MTTs still. If a player only wants to play the ringfenced Sky MTTs they will have plenty to play every day."

    Ignore the negativity, it'll be fine, we'll lose a few players & gain a few players. Give it a try for a few weeks & if you get to like it, fine, if not, next case.

    I'm planning on staying. I love sky. Was only worried about the late regs.

    @Enut

    Very possibly. ;)

    If I may be permitted to indulge in a mini-chirp & talk about myself instead of everyone else for a change I've returned to "Live" Poker the last few months 2 or 3 nights a week & have surprised myself very much by doing "OK". As you know I don't really play NLH but there's not much choice at DTD & I think I've cashed in a dozen or more NLH affairs.

    In that time I've played exactly 4 PLO events, (the only 4 I could find) & cashed in all 4. Not huge Tourneys, but decent enough...

    UKIPT PLO, 5th of 53 £1,020

    APAT ROE 8/166 = £300

    UK Open 4/5/6 PLO, 21/170 £490

    The Hendon Mob PLO Championship, 5/46, £1,265

    It's immensely satisfying, given my age, to prove to myself that I can still run with the kidz, it's done my self-esteem a power of good.

    Here's the evidence;

    Apologies for the chirp, but I'm genuinely chuffed to bits with it. And my golf is improving too - I'm now just really bad, rather than really really bad.....
    Great stuff @Tikay10. When i move I plan on playing more live. Currently live in the middle of no where. What's PLO like live? Online it's a massive gamble fest, especially when it's a bounty game.
