I'm probably not going to continue on here after the merger, i was wondering if anyone has an opinion on the poker at bet365? Thinking of going there instead.
Unless it has changed recently, it is an i-poker skin. You will be getting mostly the same games as Sky going forward.
The only difference would be the unique games. I don't think Bet365 have that many. No idea on new player offers, rakeback etc
Ah, i didn't know that was i-poker too. Ta for the info Essexphil.

There are ringfenced games on 365, so you can play cash against sportsbook customers as opposed to the whole iPoker network. I haven't played there for years, but the software is fine and there's a decent amount of gameplay.
Any update on whether the chat box will be there James or is that looking dead in the water? Nice to hear you intend to do ringfenced 100bb cash games, I think alot of people are hopeful that will be the case
@SkyJames sorry if this has been addressed already. Late reg. Are they staying the same or gonna be the same as other ipoker sites and be ridiculously long?

I'm pretty sure the schedule, including late reg. will stay similar to what they are now. So everything will be similar, or the same.....but with better software
To save me a long read, are there some FAQs here please?
One question: will only players with active balances be transferred to ipoker? My username here is the same as it is on another skin - did I see something about that having "-Sky" appended to my current Sky name?

I would think that as you would be interested in ringfenced games, now that the 100bb tables are expected to be kept separate from the ipoker player pool its not an issue? ie you will be playing cash games against sky players only.
A thread on reddit talking about Sky's move to ipoker. There's almost nothing interesting posted whatsoever just yet but i thought i'd pop this here anyway.

We won't have a chat box on launch as much as I'd like one. There was a discussion around them having a chat box on sky tournaments only but this one is pretty much out of my hands but I'll continue to bang the drum.

On first log in you will be prompted to keep your alias with-sky on the end. the ipoker system does allow you to change it however so we can't force you to keep it.
So everyone would be able to change their alias completely or just remove the -sky?
If you remove the -sky would this deny access to the ring fenced games? Out of interest how would you identify which accounts get access to the ring fenced games and who does not.

The ringfenced games are for players logged in through Sky, it has nothing to do with alias. Yes you can remove the -sky or change it to anything as long as that alias isn't already taken but a huge number of aliases are as it's a big network

Not only is it a big network, it has a lot of skins.
I think this will be my 7th or 8th different name on i-poker

On this, I presume new players will still be able to sign up to "Sky"? So it won't just be an ever decreasing pool of players that were already signed up to Sky Poker pre 27 May

You think Sky could be moving to iPoker and then closing the ability to join??

Not really, worded it poorly. How do new players sign up is more my question. Are they able to sign up via searching sky poker on google, coming to the current (or similar) landing page then being redirected to IPoker, or do you have to sign up by searching Ipoker and opening their client initially.
You never actually have an 'iPoker' account. You just have a skin account, and in this case that's Sky. New players might never know they're even playing on the iPoker network because everything in the Sky client will just be branded as Sky.
I'd imagine the landing page will hardly be different at all, just a different poker client will be downloaded. I also imagine the hope is once players download the client they stick around longer than they have been on this old software so hopefully numbers will just go to the moon.
This is all starting to remind me of shirts vs skins in the park or schoolyard when we were younger. We're the shirts, but we're going to have to take on a load of other new players from various ipoker skins (the skins obv. in this context).

Apologies if this has already been addressed
