    IMPORTANT

The current SPT Manchester satellite schedule is for DAY 1A ONLY.

If you cannot make Day 1A - the Friday - please don't play them, as the seats are NOT TRANSFERABLE & there is no cash alternative.

Satellites for Day 1B will start in due course, & there will be plenty of time, so don't be fretting.

But please don't qualify for 1A & then ask to have them transferred to 1B, or a cash refund.

So where's everyone staying on the Friday night?

Was going to book a Travelodge or Premier Inn. Where's the party at? :=)

    Yes, under "Satellites" on the SPT Manchester Promo Page it states;

Satellites from 27th December to 21st January will qualify players for Day 1A, which takes place on Friday 16th February.

Satellites from 22nd January to 11th February will qualilfy players for Day 1B, which takes place on Saturday 17th February.

    Hi Tikay,
I played in the micro £2.30 sats. (being from Yorkshire!) to the SPT Quarter-Final last night, and managed to qualify from the last one (20.25pm), but the Quarter-Final (20.40pm) had already been running for 25mins and Late reg. was almost over ( I thought we were going to miss it altogether tbh) and due to starting stack size it was a massive disadvantage and just a case of shoving the first decent hand you got. I know the Quarter-Final can't be moved back to later, because it often only just finishes before the Semi-Final, so instead would it be possible for the £2.30 micro sats. to the Quarter-Final, to all be moved forward by 20 mins. to 19.05, 19.25, 19.45 and 20.05 please?
I certainly won't be entering the 20.25pm one again
    Best wishes
    JEZ

I posted the above on another thread yesterday, don't know if you have seen it TiKay.

Managed to get my Friday Seat tonight.

Which of these is best/closest to the Casino?

    https://www.travelodge.co.uk/search/results?location=Manchester&lat=&long=&action=search&checkIn=16/02/18&checkOut=17/02/18&rooms[0][adults]=2&rooms[0][children]=0

Does anyone know if I can park free at the casino and leave my car there overnight?

Look forward to meeting up with my Poker friends.

    Best of luck!

    Graham,
Central is marginally closer than Piccadilly, although we preferred Sport City as it was a taxi ride away, in a rough part of town and has no twin rooms (we had actually booked doubles ;-) which was cosy), Jac loved parking his car there too.
You can park free in the adjacent multi storey, you need to get your ticket stamped in casino.
Assume it can be overnight, might be best to clarify though

I sure you guys will have a blast. May well join you, just need to check on parking. Probably would prefer free parking at hotel

Why is it that there are a number of people playing in the final satellites tonight who have already won a seat? Is it the same as the Vegas satellites where they prevent people who are interested in participating from winning a seat? Do they get the money instead if they qualify again? If so I think this should be stopped for the good of the game.

Hi @tai-gar its for the money.

A weekend away isn't cheap, A hotel has to be paid for, travel expenses etc.

If they can't afford the expenses then perhaps they shouldn't enter the tournament in the first place. Why prevent genuine players from winning a seat? Enter other tournaments or play cash games to win their expenses if they can.
It is not something that actually affects me but I do think Sky should rethink the process in order to prevent previous "winners" from entering the process again.

The same amount of seats are still allocated, the seats that are "won" and money is given instead, are still available .

    Hi tai-gar,

I'm sorry you feel that way, but there are 2 sides to that debate.

Were it not for the lads who play these Satellites AFTER already winning a seat, the Guaranteed seats on offer would reduce significantly, perhaps by as much as 60% to 70%.

Those players bring the liquidity which enables the amount of Guaranteed Seats on offer. Without them, there would be far less seats to win.

Anyway, I hope you are able to qualify, & I'll buy you a Latte up there if you do.

    Hi Tikay,

Thanks for the explanation which I now completely understand.

You do run a good number of satellites at varying times of the day and I am sure that everyone has a fair chance of qualifying.

I have indeed been able to qualify for the majority of events that I have wanted to enter but would not have dreamt of re-entering having done so. I did not think it right to prevent other regulars from winning their own seat. However, thanks to your kind explanation I will have a chance to re-think.

Manchester definitely on my agenda. See you there.
