nh Splashies, cheers for posting ^

Whatever I do, I'm losing that hand then !

Back to IPL, this is really getting tough now, every game looks so tough to call, and RCB seem to be playing every other day!

Todays is a pretty easy pick, I can't understand why Dehli continue to be huge favourites (1/2), they're unbackable at that price even against Hydrabad (13/8). The outsiders have a few match winners, and it only takes 1/2 of them to fire and it's game over.

    Tomorrow looks hard!

Easy to see why the bookies have such an edge. Don't see how I can bet against Mumbai in the first game, but they're only 4/7! ughhhhhh.

Then the 2nd game, Chennai v RCB. Flip a coin! Head's spinning too much to look into that. Will leave it till tomorrow.

For today I'm putting Hydrabad (13/8) with Mumbai in the first tomorrow (4/7) for a 3/1 double.

    Open bets

Ashok Dinda, leading tournament bowler, £1ew @ 33/1

    Leading tournament batsman, £1 ew, Rahane @ 25/1 & David Miller 50p ew @ 125/1

Don't think I'm bothering this afternoon.

The game is impossible to call, and I can support RCB anyway. Also have football/poker to focus on today.

May have a small bet on 'overs' on the first innings run line if it looks good.

Will be a great game, tune in !!!! :D

Had 2 doubles up the last 4 games, so gonna stick with that.

2 big odds on faves tomorrow, and I can't see either losing.

    So i'll try RCB (4/7) and KKR (8/15) in a 1.41/1 double.

    £10!

Been offline a few days w/ technical probs so no bets, since the RCB and KKR double. No idea how that 1 lost.

Seems me and the bookies are passing the money backwards and forwards.

I know how rakeback pros feel now. It's a grind! ;)

Gonna be more selective to try and find an edge. Which means avoiding todays Dehli v Chennai game.

Don't see how Dehli can win, but can't see how I can back Chennai @ 8/13 either.

Dimi Macher-a nus in for David Miller.

    Baffled.

Eng have a v good T20 team, people like Luke Wright and Oais Shah can't get a game in the IPL, yet Donkey M'a nus gets picked.

Lets hope it's one of those pitches that allow a 68mph dobber to become unplayable! ;)

Sigh. Well the bookies are officially winning.

Prob not guna be watching much today with snooker starting, football and Saturday racing.

So just gonna have a small double on the 2 outsiders. 4 of the 'top 5' (imo) playing eachother today, RR and KKR both odds against and v capable of winning. £4 double @ 4/1.

    Another loser on Saturday.

    Things going terrible.

Gonna have 1 last bet today, and then have a week off to watch the snooker instead.

Getting abit bored of T20, the IPL traditionally seems to drag on for ever.

We're still not even half way through the competition, so I've got plenty of time to return and stick to my initial aim of simply "making some money"

Have been +£35 on 2 occasions now before dropping back to zero.

Need to remember what I'm trying to achieve, and not get greedy.

Todays bet is on Shane Watson to top score & RR to win, £3 @ 7/1

Chennai have looked vulnerable so far, but you feel that if RR are to win, Twatto needs to make a big score, so 7/1 is a fair enough price imo.

BTW, my tornament top scorer bets aren't looking great, although Rahane isn't far off a place.

David Miller got only his 2nd game yesterday after a duck in his first.

He whacked 80 not ot off 40 balls.

If only the Punjabis had as much faith in him as I have.

    sigh.

Will update all the totals before I take my mid-IPL 'strategic time out' tomorrow.

DOHHHHHHH that was the most inept display of bowling and fielding I've ever seen on a cricket field. They gave the game away mate. And the captain was most culpable. Very poor selection of bowlers, and his fielding in that 2nd last over should have the Corruption Authorities on standby.

Captain, can you give me any advise on how to talk IPL 2013?

I'll be in Delhi next week and I could do with beefing up my cricket small talk.

At the moment I can say , 'that Tendulkar bloke can hit a ball can't he' and 'what is Kapil Dev up to these days?'.

So I think I spotted Delhi on your thread somewhere, what's their full name? Delhi Belly's?

Of course I can and will google the stuff, but I reckon you could could educate me properly.

Can you increase my IPL 2013 knowledge in 60 seconds?

How are Delhi doing in the tournament, any interesting matches / events so far involving Delhi?

What are their chances of winning?

    Who are their star players?

Give me a name of a lesser player at Delhi I could mention, I'm sure if I suggested I thought such and such player was very promising and should be given more opportunities, I'd really come across well.

Who has looked the best team and players so far?

Was it Chris Gayle that set some sort of batting record yesterday?

Any constructive comments would be much appreciated :)

Best advice if you're going to Dehli..........

    DONT MENTION THE IPL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Biggest franchise, one of the pre tournament favourites.

Lost their first 6 in a row and have won 1 out of 8, rock bottom of the table and no chance of progressing in the tournament!

Is it too late to re-book and go to Bangalore instead? ;)

    I honestly had no idea!

It would have took me a lot longer to work that out via google.

    :) np. Seriously though......

Virender Sehwag is their hero. And obv every Indian idolises Sachin. Virat Kohli the up and coming star of Indian cricket, one of very few players that has managed to win me money this series! :)

They'll still pack the ground out every game though, cricket mad!

Would be an awesome experience if you could somehow get to one?

They're a team full of big names, they've just under-performed. Will be a very entertaining few hours if you're around the ground, maybe now the pressure is off they'll start performing and dish out a few hidings.

Will be looking to back them myself when I start again at the weekend.

Enjoy you're trip, and gl fading the Dehli Belly! (they're the Dehli Daredevils fwiw. Kinda ironic name as they've been anything but fearless throughout this comp!)

    Thanks Dohhhhhh,

I'm in Delhi Monday and Tuesday, don't know if there is a match on then, but doubt I'll get chance to go.

As you say they are mad for their cricket out there and I always like to do a bit of cricket research before I go out to that region.

Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are the same, they are cricket nuts and they expect all the English to be the same, they love talking about it and you see kids everywhere having a game with make shift bats and wickets.

After my (financial) interest in the snooker ended yesterday, (gutted!!!) I wanted to return to the IPL today.

However, I'm struggling to find anything worth betting on in the match betting markets today.

Chennais team of superstars @ 8/15 should beat Punjab. Punjab are capable on their day though, have some real match winners with the bat. At 6/4 though neither team appeals.

2nd game is Pune v RCB. Should be an away win, but again 8/15 is vvvv tight. Maybe Pune are decent value here, certainly the best value bet of the 4 teams today. But as an RCB fan I wont be backing them!

Have found abit of interest in the first game, and backed David Miller to score more than Mandeep Singh for Punjab @ 10/11

Only £6.40 to get things going again. It's just so tough!

Will stop putting the list of bets up every post now, it's getting long.

Didn't update the totals after the last 2 losers, which were -£4 and -£3.

Totals going into the 2nd half of the comp....

David Miller to score more than Mandeep Singh for Punjab @ 10/11 WON +£5.82

Easy win, feared the worst when Singh was dropped on 8, absolute sitter.

Miller class act though, 51 not out off 26.

Shame he wasn't given a game earlier in the comp he might be in the running for the orange cap, and getting me a 125/1 winner! meh.
