What Orford said. By the way, when I started on the channel, I had TWO hate threads running simultaneously on the forum. So, I win! I think...

    just a quick point

with respect you have pointed out how difficult presenting is

surely this is yannis job? so yes it would be very very difficult if not impossible for me or somebody else with no experience to do it but you could say the same for a lot of jobs.

personally and i suspect it is not through choice i would like to see redmond get a few more presenting gigs improved very quickly and now if you watched him as a new viewer you would not be aware he is not a natural tv presenter

    What Orford said. X2

Ten years ago I started at a radio station called 'Horizon' somewhere in a Milton Keynes carpark.  I lifted the microphone anxiously and uttered my first nervous words to what I hoped would be an amenable audience.  I lifted my head seconds after to see my first text!:  'YOU'RE A SH!T DJ'

Ten years later I still get those texts from time to time, I've told Dad to stop it but he can't help himself.  Luckily I now have a Sony Award I can cuddle while I cry... ;-)

Look we all come up against criticism in the jobs we do and it's always going to sting a little, arguably more so when it's done so publically. For what it's worth I worked with Yiannis Morgan many years ago and always looked forward to our shifts together, a genuinely affable chap who always put a smile on my face so I'd encourage the doubters to give him a chance to do the same.  That's all!

I remember your first couple of shows James, you was terrible lol.

That was in the good old days, when the cards used to pop out of the screen (dont know how to describe it) & the presenters had to stand up ALL night & point at the images lol...

Look at James now, hes really good, like all the presenters who have been doing it along time.

    Patience is a virtue...

I feel quite bad now for not posting on the show thread :( sorry Yiannis and Jen, i did think about it but as i didnt have anything revolutionary to say or ask i just didnt, i regret this now cos it must have been really hard for them, i watched the whole show though, i wasnt live tho so by the time i realised nobody was contributing it was too late.

But just to add my lil 2 cents worth that i havnt seen anyone else mention, i cant help but feel SKY themselves didnt help much, where was the competition? or an interesting theme or discusssion point? Poor Yiannis was left to do it all himself, and for those ppl foolishly critiqing his "filler" styles of questions and comments  = you have no idea how hard he had it, with so much dead air to fill and no help from viewers he was seriously up s### creek without a pot to doodah.

Like Lambert said i like Yiannis' style, he will be great for shows new players watch as he does the brilliant thing of asking WHY. Seen and enjoyed all three shows he has done and look forward to the next where i sincerely hope the sky poker community will rally around him and give him the support he deserves (imagine the absolute drivel that would come out of Orfs or Harts mouths if they have to fill for 5 hrs with no posts to read lol).

This thread started with a horrible bullying vibe from someone who expresses such ridiculous views, thankfully by page 5 it has turned into utter awesomeness, im glad the good outweigh the bad :)

Tbh I dont think yiannis has much to worry about, its only when a hand is named after you or you last 2 minutes in a SPT that you really got a problem!

    Sorry Richard!

For what it's worth, I think all the presenters do a difficult job incredibly well. I enjoyed Yiannis's style and look forward to his next show. I'm sure that, in time, he'll win over the doubters. Even the maestro, Richard Orford, must have had his critics in the early days.

I also wonder why we cant have more guests on the show, not sure what happened with Ian Fraser he was on quite often then never again, Channing or Rasavi as a guest is always welcome
