Tbh lambert I think I do take the £11 ones more seriously so I do think theres going to be a fair difference between the stakes even if it is the same players im playing. Im a lot more prone to 'making moves' on the £5 HUs. Lol. Probably a bit of a leak... but one easily solvable.
Cheers dohhhh. I play mainly turbos with a fair few hypers in there. Faster structures for sure though. I only really play them late at night when I want to play a little poker before bed and I dont want to get attached to a tournament... I find dyms too slow and a bit boring tbh so dont do to well at those when I do decide to play. Hu you play pretty much every hand
What did you do with my chip stack in the £500 Turbo?! :P
Pretty much sums up how my tournaments have gone lately too. Can't cash in them at all! Good job cash is there ticking along nicely. Have you played much cash yet or are you just sticking to tournaments in the main?
Witty Harry. Has anyone ever told you that you should do stand up?
Admittidly 2 is probably below average for me... Apparently shoving ATC with 8bb makes me a 'donkey bingo player' and I should 'learn how to play properly'. Comparing sharkscope graphs with this guy did make me chuckle, but managed to refrain from bringing it up in the chat even though he was giving me grief for the best part of an hour.
Ivanovic... im sorry to say that I made absolutely no use of your chips in the turbo. I practically gave my chip lead away. I played so so bad and spewed it away to finish somewhere in the top 18... but well outside the cash. Those chips were cursed...
Havent played any cash yet this month... I have been tempted - extrememly tempted, but have refrained in doing so. I look at some players on 50nl that I used to play every day and think 'If they can get that chip stack on this table, surely I can?'
Too tempting, but I know its likely to be a bad idea.
Cheers Benc. You play a lot of HU don't you? Which type of HU game do you reckon is best to play? Obviously I dont mind the faster ones as im doing OK in them, but it can come down to a fair bit of luck in terms of what holdings you get dealt. I imagine variance is a bit kinder in the slower games but they are a bit too slow for me. I reckon Speed or Turbo is the way forward? What do you play most?
ChicknMelt... I need as much practice as I can get if we do this!

Probably a silly shove on the flop but I thought batman was light (lol) pre and definitely didnt have solely Ax in his range here. I had reraised again preflop with the intention of shoving any flop... wise or unwise I dont know. Batman said he had 77 so I could have checked it down and still taken the hand... heinsight eh?

Not sure I would be shoving here... what better hands would fold? possibly a single Q...but not many of them in his range. what worse hands would call? - none.
Most hands either have little equity vs you (gutshots, smaller PPs), or have you crushed and are snap calling. + you may be able to get 1 street of value from smaller PPs if you check the flop.
Yeah it's a pretty bad shove putting it kindly. You're either way ahead or way behind and he probably folds everything that is way beind and calls almost everything that is way ahead.
FWIW, if you wanna continue, once JAKO 4bet shoves (albeit a small stack), I'd probably be flatting or shoving now rather than making a tiny 5bet

Yeah i have started to play alot again recently after a few months out, started with £25 so its a grind to build a roll again had to use some very agg brm lol , bit rusty though got loads of work to do on my game put aload of volume in this month +1000 games with some pretty mediocre results but i'm getting there ,the bulk of my games have been 5.25 turbos played thousands of them over the past year and have an ok roi, much prefer them to speed and standard both of which i get a bit impatient start making unnessecary moves, turbos i find has just the right balance there is still plenty of room for play so time to chip up in the early levels and then have a good stack to take advantage of most players not knowing of jam/fold ranges in the later levels. So yeah i would say turbos are the way foward but with alot of volume will always be some pretty sick runs of games where it seems like nothing can go your way just have to avoid tilting and chasing losses higher up, but i'm sure you would comfortably beat 5s and 10s over a large sample. I'm re-reading a HU pdf by merseneary atm which is available for free download on husng.com would definetly reccomend it if you do think about putting some volume in, gl at the tables.
Yeah I know its pretty terrible. Lol. I did ask myself 'why am I shoving?'... couldnt think of a reason but did it anyway. Lolbad poker. I guess im pretty stubborn when it comes to winning a pot ive put a lot of money into. Posted by gazza127
i feel a new phrase being coined.... a Gazza shove - I have put too much money in, therefor the best play is to shove

Cheers. I'll definitely look into this. Gl on spinning up your roll again. Your record is quite impressive so I might stay away from you
In Response to Re: The ramblings of a young man (gazza127 diary) : i feel a new phrase being coined.... a Gazza shove - I have put too much money in, therefor the best play is to shove hehe Posted by chicknMelt
Lol. Its a real thing... everyone does is at one point or another...
I played some HU games and a lot of tournaments. Did not manage a single cash and was about £200 down somehow. I didnt even think I could enter £200 worth of games on sky in a single day.... and no I didnt enter the main or either of the £55 BHs. Not sure how I managed to lose that much. I lost pretty much every flip I could lose. I know that a fair few of my exits were my fault, but also a good amount of them were flips of some sort... some of which simply terrible from villains. In two tournaments in particular villains were calling with ATC regardless of the action... it was crazy.
Meh... I suppose thats the nature of the game - people can play what they want.
I ended up the night on cash and had my second winning session in a row. I managed to claw back about £60 of the £200 deficit... I would say thanks to the following hand, however I lost the lot 3 hands later and had to build it back.
i played a bit during the day on MTTs and SnGs and ended up slightly down over the session. I still cant seem to cash in an MTT... i must be nearing 50 odd without a cash. SnGs arent much better either.
I went out last night and saw some mates and when I got home around half 1 I decided i would play some cash. Weird thing is that I was so tired whilst playing that I cant seem to remember any of the hands... who I was playing with and how long I was playing.
All I remember is that I left when everyone else left... and I left £130 up!
Going to go have a look at my HH now to work out how...
Went out this evening with a few mates. Decided to go and watch the new Hunger Games film (meh) and then go play pool.
Got in at about half 1 and stuck some cash poker on to see if I could keep the good run going.

Either way I ended the night about £240 up on cash. Didnt play any MTTs today as I was out and seem to suck at them recently anyway. Cash is going quite well at the minute though
