Probably just a bad run in mtts U must have been playing preeety aggro to get called down by a worse A high? Or was it really just lucky? Posted by chicknMelt
I was playing relatively aggro... Although this was one of the first times I had decided to squeeze with an average hand. I knew villain wasnt going to let go of most of his hands preflop, but after calling the flop bet I thought he was either A) On a draw. Had an overpair to the board or C) Hit the flop sideways. I never had him on a set or two pair hand. When the Q came on the turn I knew if he did have a PP it wasnt higher than a Queen so tried to rep AA/KK/QQ or any Qx as hard as possible to make him fold out all hands beating me. He just got a bit stubborn with his draw and called! Either that or he thought I was up to something and knew he had outs if he was wrong.
In Response to Re: The ramblings of a young man (gazza127 diary) : If in doubt... look at who lost the hand But yes... there is a very good argument that we are both in fact massive fish. Posted by gazza127
I am partial to the odd bit of fish on fish action.
I started on cash this evening and decided to try and sat in to the roller alongside the cash session. I was on two NL50 tables and opened a Direct Sat to the roller for £12. The satellite went terribly... I cant even remember how I went out which means it cant have been good.
Cash started off poorly as well. I jammed into a flush draw in a big pot and missed to lose a whole buy in. But I worked it back up and was in a little profit when I decided to enter the roller direct frenzy. Rebought a fair few times in that... and in truth was UL not to get a seat, but that sat is just bingo by the end so cant be too disheartened.
I was watching the show alongside my cash tables and they said all in sats were running every minute. So naturally I thought... surely theres going to be overlay in a few of those and I regged for one and got a seat! Happy days!
So in the roller for about £30 altogther which I was pretty happy with. Naturally, as im in the main I decided to reg for the mini and go jackpot hunting. I swiftly closed my cash tables (with a little bit of profit) to concentrate on the two tournies.
The roller was going OK... nothing big was happening either way. There seemed to be one loose guy on my table though raising odd amounts and happy to get it in almost every orbit... whether he had it or not I never found out, but I had him pegged as a bit of a loose player.

Its probably a fold... I tanked on the call thinking im probably ahead of shovers range here. At worst I expected to see AK but considered folding as there was no need to take the gamble being so deep. Initial raiser just happened to have Aces which sucked.
So out of the roller before really getting going which was dissapointing.
I was still in the mini however and things were going well. I was chip leader for a fair bit of the tournament and was set up to get well into the cash.

Then I did my standard thing of throwing away a chip lead trying to boss people around. I do think I was a tad UL to get called in this hand however preflop... he doesnt have the stack to set mine and should probably either shove or fold there and then. Meh, I suppose he can do what he wants.

There was obviously a fair bit of history between us, but I just couldnt work out why he'd jam a Jack in this situation so assumed he must be making a play and I decided to call. Of course I was wrong and got lucky to get there. Swings and roundabouts... ive been on the recieving end of a few of these myself so its nice to be on the right side of one of these... even if im a massive fish for calling.
Anyway... a few big hands later after picking up a flush v KK and calling someones bluff with trips I was back in the top two with two tables left.
I got to the final table one of the chip leaders trying to bide my time. BBmike was playing well both before the final table and on it so i tried to avoid him as much as possible... but the real irritant on my table was TIRAMISU. Almost once an orbit there would be a dry shove from him and Id be faced with an awkward situation. Every single time i folded... Maybe they had one up on me - I couldnt play them.
Lucky for me then that TIRAMISU knocked out 4th and 3rd and I was left HU v them as 2:1 underdog!
They were very aggressive heads up, which was to be expected. There was plenty of play left and I was determined not to get sucked into flipping light. So I stayed patient and waited for the right spot... which eventually came:

BOOM
£532 for the win off a £5.50 buy in I wasnt even going to play. But thanks to an all in sat that got me into the roller I have walked away in a healthy profit for the night.
Remember at the beginning of the month when I withdrew everything from my account and said i'd only play with my £126 C4P this month?
Disappointed in my exit, I had too many chips to 4-bet shove 7s there and this one of the few times T had 3-bet to a sensible size. Will blame it on my pillows being far too luring post 1am. Shame, as I was looking forward to being owned by you heads up.
Congrats on the win, been good to read how things have turned. Trust in your game when the next inevitable lean spell starts to irritate.

He was a nightmare wasnt he?
I did think when he essentially clicked it back to you preflop (pretty much the only time he did it) it must be a massive hand. I'd be tempted to let 77 go there and then and pick a better spot, but he was playing very aggressive so its not hard to see why you shoved and could concievably be called by worse.
Nice to know youre already thinking about the innevitable turn for the worse Haha. I'll try to avoid it if I can!

Yeah I was pretty mift after this happened to say the least!
So yeah... MTTs didnt go well tonight. To be fair, other than sats I only played the two so nothing major to worry about.
Just played a bit on cash and had my 5th successive winning session for another £130. I played quite well... picked my spots when I could. Cant remember having many big hands. I think the majority of the money won were £3-5 pots. Ideal if you can make money rarely getting to showdown, just unfortunate that when I did have the goods I didnt get paid.

lol, UL! I guess you'd take that on the turn all day long tho, just the wrong river card.
WD at cash again, you seem to grind out decent wins with ease! wish I could @ cash!

Cheers mate. Had another +£160 session today on cash
Just bought into a £6 direct sat into the Big Bounty hunter. Bubbled the tournament QQ v KQ AIP, but won £49.50... so it wasnt the harshest bubble in the world!
Debating whether or not to actually use the money to enter the tournament... Not sure I fancy it, but kinda think I should.
Chill with TV or Poker...?? Decisions!
How lucky I am to have this as one of my toughest decisions of my day.
