In Response to Re: Build A Bankroll 2014- next session Wednesday 15th 7pm- midnight : You didnt put a foot wrong for all the time i was at your tables mate so any loses are definatley down to run bad and not play bad imo and although this will prob shock alot of players i would have you down as being a good winning cash player. Like Geldy said and like i was saying to you in the chatbox on the night it is much harder for you to do a challenge like this compared to most players because most other players wont have high stakes regs and very competent medium stakes players joining there 10nl cash tables throughout the night. I also think that your idea of playing the main and mini next week is a good one although not the best BR management ive ever seen :) Should be costing you £49.50 of your roll to see them past the rebuy and add on stages and i think you have a very good chance of going deep in either or both on the night if the outdraw demons dont decide to pick on you and afterall you could always change your starting balance to £200 if things dont go to plan out of the millions sky pay you so all is good mate :) Best of luck Kev

    Session 7 (3 hrs x 6 tables) -£27.50
    Resultant BR: £379.50

Same old story. Once again I sat down, played too many hands and then recovered to a winning position. At one point I was 3/4 buyins up and crusing with at least double stack on all of my tables. I then suffered a few bad beats and had a bit of a nightmare. The best one is below but also lost all in AA<KK, AKs<KK when I called off pre  (like a moron) and AK vs ?? to a massive river shove where I bluffed 2 streets (like a moron) in a 3b pot.

Nice hand vs well respected player that was the beginning of the end:

Dude, there was nothing you could have done about that hand! It could have been AA over KK or QQ. Don't beat yourself up. Just concentrate on not playing too many hands and quitting while you're ahead so you post a winning session and stop the rot!

Yeah, I think it was calling of with AK shortly after the hand above that wound me up. I had also drank a few beers and my chatbox skills were declining so went to bed!

    Anyway:

    Session 8 (4 hrs x 6 tables) +£57.36
    Resultant BR: £436.86

A great session full of massive pots and audacious bluffs. I decided to open up my game IP vs the robot regs and trust myself a lot more and it really paid off. I also cut out preflop bluffs and stuck rigidly to a value-only strategy.

Of course it helps when you hit EVERYTHING as well. Hands now aren't even pasting in IE but I turned the nut FH over nut FH and also hit a straight flush. Magic!

Cost myself a tenner in this session value shoving rivers when the board had paired and I hadn't noticed. Probably due to watching TV as well! Again I felt I did well in this session and haven't adjusted anything too much, just stopped trying to win pots oop with aggression alone.

If your read is that they only do that with the flush then it's a lay down.  If you had the redraw to the nuts then you can call but you don't so nice fold.  A good fold loses us the minimum there

Well im writing this post right after my ME exit so it may come across a bit bitter.... and maybe riddled with dissapointment too.

    Sigh.

Well I entered the Primo and Mini Primo tonight.  Both running great... im having deep runs in both tournamentes but take a hit in the mini AK<77.  From then on it was a struggle.  With about 56 left and the top 52 or so getting paid I made a move for my last 10bb with QJ.   Got called by 108, but couldnt fade the 10 on the river.  No cash.

Oh well.... im still in the main and was doing well... in fact I was 2/25 with 21 paid.  Down to the last 22.... on the money bubble.   A great time to pick up loads of chips with people worrying about cashing.

As there is no flopped flush draws I have very very very few bluffs in my range when I go all in on the turn here and was expecting to get folds from pretty much all 1 pair hands.... especially on the bubble as its for his tournament life.  Important to note that I have equity too.  Either way villain found a call and managed to even gloat in the chat box that he frequently 'makes big calls'.  Well done.  Im sure your mother is proud.

Anyway... two hands later I pick up KJs on button and run into AJ.  Bubble.  GG.  Sigh.

Main and Mini BR - £890.

Could have done with that min cash of £110+

make up your mind - either you were wanting to accumulate chips for the win, or you wanted to mincash. I expect it was the former so no bleating about the min cash please.

ironic you should use the expression car crash because it was all your fault again!

c/min r the turn looks stronger than c/shove does it not, and leaves you more chips behind if you end up having to let go. Better than just gambling. He has shown no signs of weakness.

Sigh geldy.  Bit of a ripping into there.

Of course I was playing for the win but its a bit disappointing when youre not even close to being in trouble then you end up bubbling anyway.  I know c/min r looks stronger but its never something im doing in this spot as if I had massive strength... why would I show massive strength? C/min r is a line I very rarely take.   People have said that its a very difficult card to bluff shove which makes me think its kinda the perfect one for him to give me credit when I do it.

I dunno... maybe I just spewed.

well you didn't want me to sit on the fence did you.

the problem with a shove is that there is a very big bluff that it is repping, the i'm a big stack you're the bubble boy bluff. and if the villain has any reads on you at all he will know that one is well within your range. while if he is only doing "lambert level one" thinking he isn't worried about your hand either. so plently of ways your bluff can get called.

with the c/r if he shoves you can let go and mincash easily, whereas if he flats you can re-evaluate on the river.

maybe just picking on a smaller stack to attack in the first place would be a better move, as the problem here is coming from his stack size.

PS what do i know anyway, i came 22nd in fridays main.

    Right, here's my plan tonight.

Main and mini 8pm and 8.30pm.

And then 5p/10p cash tables after that until midnight.

I'm throwing BR management out the window this week.

My starting roll is £63.29 and the plan is to cash in one of the events tonight and/or build back up via the tables.

if I can kickstart the roll, then proper management will proceed again from next week!

If it goes horribly wrong then I will dust myself down, start with another £100 and start the BR management again!

    Good luck all!
