Just been reading lamberts diary and thought i,d update mine :

Not much been going on with poker recently. Managed a few short sessions - a mixture of MTT,s , micro cash and a cpl of DYM,s and 77 pence in profit since last post. Quite pleased with that i was down to the £60,s at one point and i have said if i lose this i,ll stop playing for a while.

Had a result on another account tho after phoning them up with a query. The member of staff i was talking to pressed the wrong button and accidently de-activated my account. I didn,t have any money in it and was told i,d have to open a new account. i wasn,t going to bother, but wass told i,d be eligible for their new player bonus again so obviously i went ahead. I laid my first bet off and took the £30. I was about to withdraw it when i noticed some casino tournaments for new players and thought i,d give them a try. After a few spins i realised there was a knack to it. (Not gtd to win but i certainly had an edge in the way i was playing them). I,ve made over £200 in the last 3 weeks from them and the good thing is they haven,t taken up much time and i have a good position on a couple of leadeboards for this week. I realise i won,t be entitled to play them as a new customer for much longer but its been good while its lasted.

On other news i had an ethical dilemma this week. My application for a job with a popular high street bookies had got through to the final interview stage. . It seemed like a good idea when i first applied for the job - i knew about gambling - enjoyed sports and thought this would be an interesting place to work but after visiting some of the shops and talking to staff and punters to prepare myself for the interview it quickly became appparent that i,d have to promote FOBT,s (Fixed Odds Betting terminals). I rarely go in bookies now but this was a stark reminder of what they,re actually like and the impact they are having on punters and the atmosphere in the shops. Although the laws have been changed slightly on them over the years theres still far to many people losing too much money on them. yet the bookies now rely on them for over 40% of their income and i,m sure many shops would shut if they were banned. At the moment the government just keep putting up the taxes on them. Anyway one of my tasks would be to offer punters free credits on the machines when new games come on them to try and entice them into playing for real money and this just didn,t sit right with me - so for this reason i phoned up and withdrew my application. I just hope the jobcentre understand and don,t stop my benefits again.

Other people will have their own opinions of them but the best description i,ve heard for these machines are that they are "The crack-cocaine of gambling"

Only managed to play here and there for an hour and finished about £2 up in last couple of weeks, so thought i,d try something different. After reading a couple of diarys on here it got me thinking about going for proirityas i,ve been on here for a few years and never got anywhere near it. don,t think i,ve ever got over 2-3k points in a month.

I,m still undecided whether this will be a good month to go for it . If the double points on STT,s were extended i think i would but can,t see that happening so maybe i,ll just use this month for practise and see what route will be a good way to get there. I know 1 thing . I,ll never make it at 2p/4p - doesn,t matter how many tables i play

I thought i,d try DYM,s and to get more games in stick with turbos. I figured i could concentrate better playing less tables so only playing 2-3 at a time. It started well cashing in 21/29 but has been a bit of a struggle since. I,ve looked on youtube and some other forums for advice, tips and general strategy on this format of the game but can hardly find anything. Theres plenty on normal DYM,S but nothing on turbos. - Any advice or where to find it would be much apprecatied

My volume has gone right down from 1st couple of days of the month, but still playing the £5 Turbo DYM,s, although i did play 3 MTT,s tonight as i was getting a bit bored with them. Glad i did tho. Got 1 FT and 1 decent cash. My only challenge at the moment tho is to keep playing the Turbo DYM,s and get an idea if i can brk even of them. So far its going well but long way to go till the end of the month

    Monday 29/66 - £73

It was all going so well. (Just been keeping track of results by editing rather than keeping bumping my thread up)

Got absolutely hammered today tho. Can,t even say it was bad luck. i came accross some good regs today. In hindsight i should have avoided them - at least when there were 2 or 3 on same table. Made it much more difficult but think it will be a good lesson in the long run. I know now i need to put more work in and learn more about this format of the game. Signed up for an ICM tool thingy today and will have a play about with it tommorow. I found myself in to many spots where i was unsure what to do so this should help to some degree. Just got to get better at assigning hand ranges now. All good tho (had a nice result on palace to draw 3-3 the other day - can,t beleive it was 99/1)  and still enjoying playing these games. I,ve freed up some time to take advantage of the double points this week although not sure i,m gonna make proirity this time round - Maybe nxt year. I,ve certainly got a new found respect for the DYM grinders out there since starting these

I,ll update my results at the end of the week, but a bit peed off tonight, but not because i,ve lost today.

i,ve played enough DYM,s this month to realise a lot of ppl don,t understand the concept of the game and play it like a normal STT. I,ve seen a lot of strange moves which don,t make sense esp. on the bubble when trying to eliminate a player. someone posted a while ago that its up to the regs to report suspicious play that could be colluding, which seems like the best idea but i,ve been accused twice in the last week in the chat box of dodgy play and whats most dissapointing is that they are both regs. In genereal theres far to many accusations flying around in the chat box. if i spot anyhthing suspiscious i wouldn,t even say anything. i,d just keep an eye on the player or players in question then report it

And now someones reported me . i,ll post the hand . It does look suss esp as the big stack was rasing and shoving every hand, but if people are reporting every mistake made by someone the team who deal with colluding are gonna be inundated with reports. Obv i won,t name names but you should no better than start making false accusations in the chat box. i,m now paranoid if i get involved in another pot with the guy who folded are Sky gonna be looking at it. I can,t help it if ppl don,t know how to play or make mistakes. it cudda just been a misclick

rant over - On a more positive note i,m well on way to priority for 1st time - don,t think i,ve ever got over 2k points before

ps - @ the accuser - if i was colluding i certainly wouldn,t play the same player again. You should keep qiuet and report it or keep an eye on the players you suspect yourself otherwise no-one will ever get caught

It's not always been the case that all of the Poker Team in Leeds have vast poker knowledge.

However, the chap currently responsible for auditing reports of collusion IS vastly experienced, & has played huge volumes of Online Poker. He has a good eye for what is or is not collusion, & fully understands the concept of DYM Bubble play, so don't be worrying about spurious reports.

Thx for the reply Tikay. I did let it get to me a bit last night and stupidly let it tilt me. I,m not worried now tho. I know i,ve done nothing wrong.

Just suprised at how some players (esp. experienced ones) go about reporting it. The last thing they should be doing is blurting accusations out in the chat box and telling ppl in there they,re reporting it.

Anyway 800 more pts for proirity so better crack on as i,m not gonna have much time over xmas

EDIT : Seems a good time to put that behind me and update latest scores on the doors. Still in profit despite another losing day yesterday. There seems a pattern emerging. The more games i play the worst my results seem to get. I have played a few other games including £10 - £15 DYM,s, low stakes cash and some MTT,s at which i,ve done quite well in. I think its because i,ve concentreted more on these games and not had as many tables on the go, but for the sake of this months challenge i,m just keeping track on my results for £5 Turbo dym,s. The other games  were mainly to get the points up as i was well behind target and i did resort to some russian roulettes last week during the happy days promo. they didn,t go well but shouldn,t have to play them again as i,m well on track for that elusive 10k points.

Aftter a good xmas spent with my girlfriend and family the challenge for january is to get out more . I played abit to much last month and although i was happy with results i,d completed my challenge so for this month its just to play for enjoyment and certainly wont be going for priority again.

I,ve got mainly back to MTT,s from DYM,s as i enjoy them more although i,m dreading looking at my SS graph after last night.
For some one normally used to £5 MTT,s i ended playing the Bounty Hunter mini, Main and High Roller and it was a disaster . In the HR i felt totally out of my depth, but cames accross a good stroked of fortune when the short stack shoved into my aces with Kq s. I snapped him off for the £75 on his head and thought my luck had changed until the flop and turn where he hit 2 pair.
Also got a bad beat in the main then kinda tilted.

I did get in the HR by mistake tho after reging for an alli in satelite that i thought was for th main. i wasnt quick enough to reg and de-reg so played it reluctantly.
Out of out of £152 of tuorneys i did manage 1 head in the mini tho - yay (£1.88)

I was a bit tilted and signed up for a 5 euro rebuy on another site and came 4th for 176 euros tho at the end of the night so an up and down night but happy to be in rpofit.

gonna play some more satelites for the bh,s tonight

    Not much to update pokerwise

Gonna have a bash at the Mini Bounty Hunter promo again tho this week and if i get off to a good start i,ll continue for the rest of the week (did rubbish last week) , but need to spend more time with the girlfriend. When i mentioned going for priority last month (not that she,s got a clue what it means) she did say "Don,t let it take over" and as usual she was right. Glad i did it tho but won,t be going for it again in a hurry. Theres been some interesting threads about ppl playing for a living and i get more than ever now why so many ppl advise against it - even though they could make a lot from it.

Anyway as from the last few days i,ve got back out there and got some interesting things and opportunities lined up. Just need to get back to the gym now. thats the one thing i,ve been putting off

So my only real target will just be to play less (and finish my decorating - which i nearly have)

Managed another target - hardly played the last 2 months - haven,t quite finished decorating tho

So i will have to think of another challenge- Came back to hopefully get some points for vegas 2nd chance freerolls (Unfornately i,m still in priority from December which means i ca,nt play 1 promo which sux but hey ho

But had a good start and so far so good - played about 25+ Turbo DYM,s between £2 and £10 and managed nearly £100 profit . I know this is not sustainable tho and just happy to make anything really.

On other news tho my faith was somewhat restored in the benefits sytem today. I Had my 2nd benefits tribunal for my ESA after 9 months of waiting and actually won it this time. Don,t know if anyones on here is on benefits but they will know how stressfull it can be when you get your money stopped , sanctioned or cut. I,ll also get 9 months of back pay. (Might treat myself to 1 x £50 DYM)

It also means i can carry on with my volunteering without the jobcentre being on my back interogating me about the 36 hours jobsearch i,m supposed to do every week

    Good stuff, all round.

If I were you, I'd treat myself to something nicer than a £50 DYM.

Want to focus on poker more but got to much other stuff going on so have hardly played last few weeks - So gonna set myself a sensible target that i know i can commit too. It will also help motivate me to do it.
I,m gonna play every Mini Ukops game and to just try and make any profit. Won,t be easy as my well out of practise with MTT,s. In the meantime i,ll just fit in a few TDYM,s as and when

I,ve been putting volenteering 1st, whilst looking for paid work. Facilitated anothert group this morning with people in recovery from addictions from drugs ,to gambling.(shopping ,eating etc etc)Interesting stuff and helps a lot of ppl including myself ( i tend not to mention the poker - its hard for some people to understand the difference between a roulette wheel and poker

Had a bit of holiday last week. My girlfriends parents went on holiday and she volunteered (w/o my knowledge) us both to look after the farm. Never been on a farm in my life but loved it - despite the 1meg dodgy internet connection which meant no poker for that week and no vegas freerols - (gonna try and get a few points for the weekly raffles tho)

i,ll update results after Mini Ukops

Ps - Bubba Watson for the Masters 49/1 - think form can go out of the window at Augusta and prefer to go for experience or 40/1 wih Sky with the 8 places for EW

The farm sounds interesting, was it cows or sheep or arable or... fish?

    Day 1 - Outlay £22 -  Returns £3.25  = -£18.75

    Day 2 - Outlay £22 -  Returns £62.50 = +£42.50

Still on course to play every Mini UKOPS game although it was a bit of a test yesterday as i was still out and had to play first hour on my phone with a dodgy internet connection and plenty of distractions. Despite that it ended up being a profitable night although could have been much better. Was down to the last ten in the first game with a good stack and got it in good on the flop. Just had to avoid the King of clubs on turn and river. Gutted to see it appear on the river. That was for the lead and i went out a few hands later.

In the next i ran well again and got myslef in a good position with 2 tables to go but made a questionable fold after jac35 shoved with JKs from early position. A small stack also called and that may have swayed my decision but think i shudda called with my KQoff. I would have knocked him out and  It came back to haunt me as he knocked me out a few hands later in a flip.

Couldn,t get going in the other 2 games but enjoyed playing it and it was a nice change to play MTT,s again and look forward to playing some more this week

:)  That hand has cost me. I,ve folded KQ off twice now when i shudda called. Then tonight i raise with it - get shoved on. Know i should fold it but after last 2 times decide to call and find myself up against AK and ofc miss.

Not a good night tonight- I could moan about bad beats and getting my aces crushed but it just wasn,t to be - No cashes (and no points for leaderboard) with 1 game left (which doesn,t want to load up for some reason)

WP btw Jac - Thought you were gonna win it from there

EDIT : Still won,t load the last UKOPS game. Not sure if its me or the site - Tried different browsers and my phone

    EDIT :  Day 3 Outlay £16.50  Returns £3.09

Day 4 Outlay  £30.30 - Returns   (not sure as games havent finished yet so cant check - think its about + £20 tho)

Wasn,t looking forward to the megastack and it was almost a releif to go out within 5 minutes after rivering a king flush draw but was up against an ace flush draw.  At least it gives me time to get some tea and play some DYM,s and hopefully get more points toward the Vegas draw this week

EDIT  :  Nothing much happened in the other 2 games but managed a decent run in the £3 rebuy BH but finished in frustartion again after bubbling another FT. Missed out on valuable points again. Couldn,t get my add on either which added to the frustration. It would have been an extra 50% to my stack at the time.

The target was to play every UKOPS game and finish in profit but didn,t realise how much time it would take up, so will decide tommorow whether to carry on

Currently on a DYM downswing as well which i,m struggling to turn round whilst trying to concentrate on MTT,s
