Not a great time to run card dead. So I'm pleased with the 3rd place.

Gerardirl quaking in his boots!!!. Brilliant effort to qualify from the stakes you play and best of luck if you do move up the levels.

big props to bigflop for owning up, hes still a cheat but ive gained a little bit of respect for him, as much of an idiot hes been it still takes a real man to apologise  and he didnt need to bother as hes banned for life, the silly things people do for money, its like anything in life, you get away with things for so long and eventually ur caught although he almost slipped threw the net until detective dontelmum got on the case wd sir. i do think hes been punished enough though and anyone suggesting getting the police envolved are going way over the top, let the plods get on with some real crime because they spend enough of there time locking people up for no reason.

but on a lighter note well played to all the finalists who made it. very good achievement!!!

Hi Guys Well this is great to come home to from work logging on to see am back in brilliant! Massive thanks to Donttelmum for noticing this and making Sky aware and sky for coming down on the cheats. I owe you one. As i feel now im on a freeroll considering yesterday i wasnt in the game if feel its only right to put the 6th place prizemoney on myself to win @ 7/2 (nice price) £60 of this i will put on for you Donttelmum to give you now an interest in this game considering you had nothing to gain from what you have done and make this v interesting if i win!  SKY Please let me know that this is allowed and i will place the bet. If not DTM i owe you a few rounds at the next SPT. Gl everybody in the final Chris

Thanks SAV, looking forward to resuming normal busines and playing you on the PLO DYM tables.

I don't think Ger will be worrying! :), I'll probably go out of my confort zone and sit at one if his PLO8 DYM games soon as tip of the hat/aknowledgement of his support over the promotion.

    Thanks THEROCKS.
One thing that I wasnt so fond of with this promo is the fact that i was too scared to multitable my normal DYM games as i didnt want to ruin the ROI. So not really likely to gain good Roi.

From the perspective of a business, Sky lose a lot of rake as players like me, stop playing. And when they do, they drop from there normal £11/£55 buy ins to £1 games. Great promo (Because of my 3rd) but unless it creates a lot more action from new players or inspires old players to join in then I dont reckon it covers the loss (From a business point of view)

they could counter this by saying its your best 30 game block. Regs can continue playing after a sick 30 game start, People like me who had a terrible start would have a second attempt etc.

I think it was a fantastic promo idea, just needs one or two adjustments

First of all, the very best of luck to the six guys playing tonight.  You all deserve it as it was a tough promo to top and you should be very proud.  I hope it's a great game tonight and I'm sure it will be quality viewing. This next bit I have really hesitated and gone back and forth over.  Bigflop1 sent me a PM on facebook this morning.  He's told me he has a complete site ban, no playing, no forum.  He really wanted his friends on Sky and those who knew him to read this. Remember, there is no point replying directly to BigFlop1, he's not gonna be coming here anymore. The statement, C+P in full with no edit: 'my name is bigflop1 and my wife is pocket9s. we opened my wifes account some time back for me to teach her how to play the game. i have been playing on sky since around late 2007 and made many friends during live events and forum threads. I was very excited to play in the skill n go promo. after a bad start i realised that i was no longer in contention.. i had a rash/stupid idea that i could start again using my wifes account. After a good start now i made an even worse decision by thinking i could keep up this good start by playing on the table with two accounts to keep up my good roi. I saw stupid enough to see this as angle shooting/buying myself an advantage. The last thing i wanted/intended to do was to cheat and cause what i have . If you said to me two weeks ago i would be banned from sky poker for cheating i wouldnt have believed you as i have never cheated before and didnt think i was ever going to. anyway the reason im here is too say sorry o everyone i have let down and bye to the many friends i have made here on sky poker! i could just walk away and forget this, but i believe people need to know the truth/apology/explanation! im really sorry and cant believe what i have risked. my favorite site for betting and poker.. but more importantly letting the friends i have made down. sorry' As much as I could dress this up, I'm basically breaking a forum rule by posting this.  However, I don't know a person who hasn't made a stupid mistake and regretted it, in life as well as in poker.  I felt everyone has a right to a confession.  As such as I know I have broken a clear forum rule I will give myself a forum ban for a fortnight, no posting from me.  If an Admins wish to apply further contractions, of course that's fine as well. Good luck again the guys tonight and all.

    Hi Tommy.

Ever since I read that, I've been trying to resist the urge to reply, because, above all, I wanted the (legit) Finalists NOT to have their big moment spoilt by all this controversy.

FWIW, I agree 100% with the highlighted part. There but for the grace of God go you, me, & so many others. We have all done daft things, every one of us.

The guy has to pay his bill now, & he deserves his ban. Personally, I'd make it 6 months, 12 months at the very max. IMO, he made a daft mistake, paid a huge bill in damage to his reputation, & that, along with a 6 or 12 month ban, is more than adequate punishment.  IMO, of course, this is my personal view only.

Maybe I'm going soft in my old age, but I buy his story, & I think he genuinely regrets his actions.

Of course he was bang out of order, but we need to keep a sense of proportion.

    Peace out, & all that.

Well done Waooga for the bankroll boost! Chris for winning, and everyone else for making the top 6, well played all.

One of the best promos sky has ran, and would be good to see something like this again.

Well done Chris and the rest of the finalists I enjoyed railing the game and the TV coverage which there should be more of IMO much more interesting than trying to follow a MTT.

Respect to Tommyd for his post and to say most murderers don't serve life but I think Sky has no option but to do what they have done it has to send the message that any kind of cheating will not be tolerated and that serious consequences will apply  to anyone caught doing so, still forever is a long time!

Well said Tikay, totally agree.  I feel bad for whats happened.  My concerns were always for the integrity of the site and for the future of any similiar promotions.

I agree, it was a really good promotion, it got me back into grinding SNGs on Sky for a few days after vitually stopping playing them last year. The reason I stopped was actually because of  suspected colluders/soft play in the DYMs which makes it really hard when 4 handed and the blinds are big,  I had a list who I suspected so I could avoid  playing them. (there again maybe I have paranoia)
IMO this excellent promotion probably won't be repeated in this format which is a real shame as it was good fun trying to get impossibly high roi's!
If the promotion was repeated I think the following structure would make cheating less attractive.
30 games, best 36 roi's, final is an x2 shootout to the winners.  So its easier to make the final AND its no guarantee of the cash, so the risk/reward ratio is less attractive.

Sorry Tikay I think you have got this 6/12 month ban wrong. Can you imagine the uproar if a player who was proved 100% to have cheated was allowed back? I dread to think about the abuse he would get in the chatbox. It's not as if it was just a few quid involved potentially it was a few thousand and the Skill n Go promo would have been in tatters.

But like you I do think his actions were out of character and he is genuine in his remorse but a permanent ban is the only option here, and for anyone who is caught multi accounting.

+1 Life ban the only option.

He only came clean once he was banned. He insisted he had played fair even after DTM had outed him, so he has no sympathy from me.
