In Response to Re: My story : Thank you so much for your kind words, I have passed your comments on to my good lady who, whilst being pleased at finishing the cake in time for this weekend still manages to find little faults in it, she is a bit of a perfectionist on certain things and being as it is a gift for someone in the family she is being rather hard on herself. It was a pleasure to share the Plo8 table with you last night amongst others too numerous to mention, Rose,Geldy, etc etc.the banter and cammeraderie is second to none, long may that continue, I cannot make this evenings Play as very soon I am expecting an email from work which is defo going to have major impact on me and I will not be in a good space, sorry to bring the tone down. it was a delight to share the table with such a crowd, and so nice to hear of Mrs Gooduns magnificent assets, I mean skills.
and as for the email from work
well you've already got some willing peeps on here to help you with it
but if not i once had a couple of decorators that when told of a builder that was giving me grief happily offered to go round and break his legs
although we politely refused the image certainly perked us up
beautiful cake Tom, such skill. this is something my daughter loves to do, she is 9 years old and she watches a show called 'Cake Boss' (among every other cooking and baking show on TV) Its about an italian American who is unsurprisingly.....a Boss of a Cake shop.
Now any time she discusses or talks about baking cakes she sounds as if she comes from Brooklyn.......

Yup my good lady wife watches that along with all the other cookery programmes, thanks for your comments on the cake which I shall pass on. Being a luckbox is a skill I need to master , I see you have done so
Hi Tom, just wondering how your doing? Are you trying the Vegas BH promotion at the mo? Any luck with it? Hope your running well on and off the tables. James Posted by Donttelmum
Hi James
I haven't been making the points for the Vegas promo although I have been sorely tempted, I usually only play 3 or 4 days a week so that sort of rules me out really, then again if I did put my mind to it my game is suited to these
Life wise I am bearing up, we had some awful news today (not anything to do with my work or health) which sort of puts thing into perspective that I am not the only one suffering in the family and should be grateful for all I have.
I am so grateful for the messages of support and good wishes from lots of people on here and in my family, I don't know what I have done to deserve it, I guess some folk like a belligerent old sod like me

That does not sound good, Tom. Your family will still be there for you though, & you for them.
My Dad had a really strange saying when things happened which I did not want, or like.
"Everything happens for a reason"
Which never made much sense to me at the time. Eventually, though, I held that saying by my side whenever things looked a bit dark.
And generally, when bad things happened, it opened new doors, & good things came from it in the end.
I worked for a Business for around 20 years, until I was about 35 - then it went busto. I had no job, no home, no car, no money, no nothing, as I had loaned them all my money in a stupid effort to help the business survive. Lost the lot. I had nothing. Not even anywhere to live. It was the dumbest thing I ever done.
Within 48 hours, I'd been offered a job elsewhere, just for 6 months. That 6 months became 22 years, & was the most enjoyable, satisfying & successful thing I'd ever done, in "work" terms.
I had thought losing my job was a disaster. It was not, it was an opportunity.
Whatever happens Tom, you'll be fine.
Sounds like you are having fun with all the PLO8 guys & girls, too. I miss that crew so much, they are the best. No aggro, no bad blood, just folks having a good time, & being nice to each other. Nice is lovely.
My ex brother-in-law has been married three times, he loves wedding cake apparently, I'll let him know where to come for his next one. Could be a lot of repeat business for the missus.
Thanks for the comments chaps, and chappesses, love the "all things happen for a reason" Mr K. And Sam I may have led you down the garden path re pic;) made you look though , I am gradually getting used to this banter malarkey that I was rather unkind about earlier in my thread, I am beginning to realise that you all love each other in the team, I may even enter the banter bus myself soon, my daughter is certainly a dab hand at that , I shall have to learn how to interact without causing offence when none is meant, omg life is so hard lol.
I hope things get a bit easier for you. Its crazy how things seem to happen all at once. We don't realise how precious life is untill a we get reminder of the fact.
How has your weekend been, any deep runs? I just love weekends. Love my sport so while I'm grinding away I love having the footy, tennis, golf etc etc on the box. It's been an emotional rollercoaster too. I'm a Liverpool fan and seeing Gerrard play his last game at Anfield and say his goodbyes was a little sad. But like Tikay says another door will open and he's now off on his new adventure playing in the U.S. Maybe I'll bump into him in Vegas! I've always been a big fan of Gerrard as he's remained humble and loyal to the team he loves. On the flip side of that my other sporting icon is Roger Federer who's been in inspiring form this week and is currently playing in the final v Djokovic. Will be tough but if anyone can do it, it's him.
Off to hit the tables and try and get some spending $$ for Vegas. Might even treat Tikay to a Starbucks if he behaves....think my moneys save

Hi James
We had a really nice weekend, went to the wedding and had a lovely time, lots of compliments about the cake which was nice.
Roger Federer-what a player! I thought nobody would be able to match his achievements on the court,it seems Djokovic and others are catching him up though, age gets to us all in the end,and Gerrard yes he has been a stalwart in the team, was a pity about some of the comments a couple of seasons ago when there was talk of him leaving.
Poker-wise I have been running deep in a few tourneys and made a couple ft' seven taking a pl08 down so pretty much holding my own at present, due a big bink soon:)
Good luck in Vegas my good man,I'm a little jealous i don't know if you know cos I don't like to talk about it but I played in main event once
Confused.com. How can two folk have the same IP address yet only one lose Internet connection? I guess I will have to stick to doing the washing and hoovering cos this internet/it shenanigans is out of my comfort zone
1 day to go to my meeting at work which may decide my future.
Played the dtd games last night, was on a table with Sam and hhry, most fun I have had in ages, those two are like husband and wife who have been married 50 years, it's such a nice change from some of the jip I sometimes get due to my unorthodox play long May that continue, so looking forward to meeting up at MK.
Anyway I have just had a visit from in laws and wife has rang me which has put my housework duties back by a couple hours, I better pull my finger out and crack on.

There are multiple 'connection points' -
Your router connects to the internet and presents your network as a single IP address.
You then have a connection from each of your PCs/mobiles/whatever TO the router. If one of those connections breaks then you have the scenario you've described.

Come on Tom, we know that ain't possible for numerous reasons. For starters, for Sam to have been married half a century, that means she would have had to have been wed at 7 years old. And I'd be -22
All the best for the work stuff tomorrow, keep us posted!
