I saw a definate touchscreen laptop in the sale at a well known pc shop, I jumped at the chance and picked it up today I have no idea how to use it We had an engineer visit booked between 1pm and 6pm to deal with our internet, waited until 5.55pm and rang sky, the lady informed us he "may" have just turned it on in the box or summat, we informed her our router has a different connection to the one on the wall as that is just a normal phone one and our router had a super fast fibre optic connector which didn't fit. She said she would put a note on our account and ring tomorrow (Today) if it hasn't been sorted. My daughters boyfriend then said, oh I think I may have one of them adapters in my car, toddled off to get it, plugged it in,lo and behold we have Internet ! Why couldn't they just ring us and let us know? I bet we have had it since Saturday and we just didn't know, ahh well at least it gave us chance to get to know each other Posted by tomgoodun
Sort it out Sky!!
Great posts tom. Bet you were itching for a game of poker by the time the internet issue was sorted!

Hi DB, it's even better than that - I get to play before folk have registered #riggedinnit.
I won a £3 bounty hunter this afternoon, reckon I should retire and live off my winnings after all ,I could live a week on a shilling when I were a lad.
I can just see a mental image of you tom peddling your bike with the basket on the front as you go to the shop to get your loaf of hovis in fact I can even hear the music i'd better go and have a lay down.
Tom, It was a real pleasure meeting you yesterday. Also your son Alex, who was a true gent and your other son. Sorry forgot his name.
Hope to see you again sometime soon. Also thank you for the advice I learnt a lot yesterday. Hope you all had a safe journey back home. See you on the tables soon.
I had a great time at MK, I must say the welcome from all at the outlaws house was really touching, we hadn't met before and my sons were with me and we were feeling a little apprehensive , but shouldn't have been, Sam, Jon, Tash and all the chaps there treated us like long lost friends,we had a laugh,a drink or two and toddled off to the casino, via every car park in MK, or Los angeles as it's commonly known.
I met lots of the sky poker chaps and chappesses, too many to mention, Olive was a lovely lady,Matt (who is not old enough to buy cigs is a really nice lad) jj ach, Hendrick, shaking aces,Oban,a.j.hamilton,Irish rose, sly kist,(eventual winner) forgive me if I haven't mentioned anyone, trip 5 did a fab job of team Dagg shirt fund raising, was marvellous to see everyone pull together for this cause, jono is another good guy.
I eventually fin 19th, my son Alex(no.2) had the "good" fortune to be on SAMs table , I think he may have knocked her out, I will leave that to Sam to fill in the details , he played really well and lasted longer than me, eventually knocked out by the winner on the river, brutal..
Thank you all for making my time there a wonderful memory, sorry I had to leave early both nights, I get very tired, and for dragging son no.1 ( Colin) away on the Saturday, he wasn't best pleased but my excuse is we had to leave at 10am and I didn't want to be trawling the streets looking for him

Awww Tom, was brilliant to meet you, and I must say you looked darn fine
Yes I thought I was being clever jumping in with you to avoid the walk Sat Morn, alas... think the rest walked there quicker
Sam has forgiven son 2 - he is playing DTD as Dagg/Outlaw tonite as punshment and son 1 is also next week too hahaha.
He was soooo not impressed that he couldn't come to the party lol.
And real life returns. I got a letter from my doctors practice, as I have moved out of the area ( 12 miles up the road) I will need to sign up with another practice, I new this free prescription for my cancer would come back to haunt me, I have just had a phone call from a very nice lady in my "old" practice informing me I have 30 days before they send my history to the care commission.
I informed her I was reading up on it last night and as I have hardly ever had a home visit, and I haven't seen my own doc in about 2 years, they could keep me on, she politely informed me that their practice had decided not to sign up for that and I will need to change, I asked about continued care, she wasn't budging. I said I have a hormone injection for my cancer in August and asked who would do that, she cheerily said the new one I sign up to., guess I am just an old fogey who dislikes change..
It was like the first day at school at work, I just kept my head down and tried my very best to keep schtum and concentrate on the job at hand, fortunately the chap I work with is one of the good guys, very laid back and a great teacher ( I need a lot of that on cad drawings etc). I am gradually re-learning what I had forgotten in my enforced sabbatical.
The new house is coming along nicely, I am getting back in the habit of doing stuff around the house. This weekend for instance i made the decision that we need to turf the back garden, bear in mind I haven't done any physical work since the start of my treatment in December. Alex came round to help on Friday and Saturday, we levelled the garden and got rid of what seemed a mountain of stones and debris on Friday, to say I was worn out was an understatement, but I was so pleased to have done it.Saturday we layed 50 square metres of turf,I was so proud to be able to do what would have been a straightforward exercise a year ago, now I am feeling rather achy .
Poker wise not too much to report, just missed final table of £5 b/h cashing for around £30 or so.
Following the wsop reports with great interest, great to see the sky guys doing well out there, hope the run good continues for the big one.
Morning Tom, How are things in Tomgoodun's world? Family all ok, settled in to the new home ok? You been watching the Open golf? Incredible drama, with one thing & another, I'm itching to write some articles about it. Anyway, was just a way of saying hope all is well. Posted by Tikay10
Hi Mr.K
Firstly I would like to say a massive thanks to you and the team for the reports and videos from Vegas,it must have been incredibly difficult to organise all the various stuff you had to do.,Neil has slotted in perfectly,he comes across as a really nice down to earth chap with an infinite knowledge of poker and all the peripherals.
I doff my virtual cap to Sky Poker for giving us the chance to go to the best tournament in the world, again it must have been a logistical nightmare to organise..hope we have similar next year
I haven't posted for a while as I thought I may becoming a bit of a bore, I don't want to be the guy who is constantly saying woe is me, the forum deserves better, having said that I am so pleased you have posted asking how I am, you are a gent.
As I am on iPad and it doesn't give much room to ramble I shall post update below.
