Sounds like you had an eventful time, always good to mix things up a bit I guess I am feeling a little better today, Monday I felt awful and was feeling really sorry for myself, the good lady was very patient and understanding which was just what I needed at the time, marriage is a partnership and I feel truly blessed as I feel you do, glad you are ok and enjoying your youthful years x
I was going to post on the "What would you like to see in the upcoming Ukops" thread, I have changed my mind, seems to have been taken over by the (pardon the mixed analogy) Manchester City/Barcelona/Real Madrid "Let them eat cake" brigade.
Further the site and look to bring in new players and look after recs? Nah.....me me me...it's like a **** soloist warming up.

My cunning plan to change my poker days was thwarted by my sisters decision that the pontins holiday camp they were staying before visiting us on "Friday" didn't quite reach her impeccably low standards. Apparently the room was a s..t hole post cleaning lady, the neighbours were screaming at 2am and the seagulls woke her at 3am.
I was really pleased to see her and her hubby on Thursday, she is one of those "has a heart of gold" type who can talk for England, love her to bits but by crikey try to get a word in - no chance. We went out for a meal on Friday and did the usual catch up on what's happening oop North and with family etc etc.
She loves going to Bingo so I made an executive decision to frequent said establishment on Saturday evening, we made it to the early bird special where we get the tickets free if we purchase the evening tickets, £13 per person fab
My wife , daughter and boyfriend were a tad dumbfounded by the speed the numbers were called out, we all had 6 books ( bingo speak) and found it hard enough crossing the numbers off never mind realising when we had a sweat on ( more bingo speak) against all the odds my wife did win a full house and I won a 2 lines so that paid for the night - happy days.
Apparently the drinks were "well cheap" -£2.50 for a house double vodka, which leads me on to the Lo part of the story posted below.....
My lovely daughter has had a back problem lately, not helped by a 25 stone resident at the care home she works at deciding to fall on her as she was helping her to get in bed. As mentioned above the drinks at t' bingo were well cheap and my daughter decided to take advantage of this hence being a little unsteady on her feet when her boyfriend brought her home ( he didn't drink I hasten to add) apperrently she fell on the pavement before she entered our humble domain.
Sunday morning she was in agony and couldn't move her legs or control her functions, rang the 111 line who sent paramedics, they decided she needed to go to Brighton Hospital.
They strapped her to a stretcher and took her outside the back, 2 ambulances were there as the paramedics had called for assistance, they then were strapping her to a wheeled bed type thing when our neighbour appeared......and said the immortal words " Is everything all right, only I can't get in my parking space" ?..what would you answer in them circumstances? I was so upset and dumbfounded I could not think of an adequate response which was more than 4 letters.
Hospital was very emotional as my daughter was moved rapidly up the scale of junior doctor, doctor, specialist, then consultant who was incredibly straightforward with his diagnosis of her. Having to have an urgent MRI scan as all the signs point to a m is-placed di sc pressing on the nerves which is time sensitive and will need operating on that night to avoid permanent paralysis .
As you can imagine my daughter was very upset, as a parent your responsibility is to keep calm and say the right things, my wife was wonderful in that way and I tried my best.
We were in hospital until 11pm when we got the good news her MRI scan showed no signs of the disc being out, I can understand the term emotional roller coaster much better now.
I remember the night I was phoned to say my son was at the hospital. He'd blacked out and was not responding to stimulation. Emergency brain scan was scheduled. Guy was putting in stitches above his right eye where he had cut himself open falling. Was almost sick watching.
6am and scan results come through - all ok.
So off to work in my casual clothes with no sleep.

What a scary story that is Tom. Thank God it all turned out OK.
As for your "me me me" neighbour, I hope you never speak to them again.
Best wishes to your daughter for a speedy recovery.
jesus,it never rains then it pours, hope she gets well soon tom, well wishes from all my family Posted by stokefc
Thanks Sean, she went to the docs today, he has signed her off work for another week and given her painkillers and anti inflammatories, also given her excersises to do. I was getting quite worried yesterday as she still couldn't move her legs, but she seems a little better today and is managing to stumble around.

That sounds so scary, I can certainly relate to the going to work with no sleep the night before, yup kids put us through all kinds of emotions, it makes me think what my parents went through with me and my sisters, brothers. There was 6 of us and we got up to all kinds of shenanigans, I recall one day when I was helping on the bread van before school, got up at 5am walked to the bakery (lovely smell) went on our rounds and I was into watching the horse racing, me and mates used to have races over ever bodies hedges (grand national course) anyway I digress but I had that in mind when I was about to deliver a loaf to a house with a hedge and decided that was the chair on the national course, was concentrating on running and jumping over it when a car hit me and threw me about 20 yards, I was taken in by a neighbour who was a nurse and cured by a hot sweet tea ha those were the days, I went home and told my mum a car had hit me , I think she was a bit mortified but I just shrugged my shoulders and carried on with my day.
