You're doing great Tom. Life can be tough at times and we just have to wade through it. My late father was always having his meds changed as the combinations always gave him problems. Nowt one can do but constantly challenge the docs as to whether the mix is the best and whether it is possibly responsible for some of the problems. And at least it wasn't you with the circular saw!

Them ups & downs, Tom, they must be hard to bear, but you have such character, mettle, & spirit.

It must irk you something shocking when you see fit young players bemoaning a bad river card in a tenner tourney as if it were the end of the world......I know it would irk me if I were in your spot.

Tablets. It seems I've been taking them wrong all my life. So what IS the correct way to take a tablet?

"....oh and apparently I have been taking them wrong, I do put them in my hand then in my mouth but it isn't as straightforward as that....."

Thanks for the good wishes chaps, most appreciated.
What a difference a day makes ( someone should write a song with that title ;)

Today I am in a better space, even managed to put 2 blinds up and 2 lots of curtain poles up, all we need now is sis in law to change our curtains from pencil pleat to eyelet ( nope me neither)

I may have been a tad fascetious on the how to take my tablets :) I am using the correct methodology of hand to mouth but the timing was out, I was on 400mg of a certain tablet taking up to 8 a day as and when needed to keep on top of the pain.

    The doc I saw informed me what I really need is 300mg - 1 on day 1, 2 on day 2, 3 on day 3, then on day 4 it's 2 in am then 1mid day and 1 in evening , day 5 2,2,and1...easy .....

We have been prevaricating on the booking of a cruise for a couple of months , yesterday we took the plunge and booked it:)

Played a £5 sit n go last night, one of them which isn't a double your money, flopped nut flush, someone had 2nd nuts, unfortunately the board paired on river, course f/h trumps nut flush, was down to 1.5 bb, with blinds at 15.30,somehow went and won it from there, chip and a chair an all that malarkey :)

Today is 1 year since I "came out" with my condition, life for me has obviously changed since that day and looking back throughout the year I can hand on heart say that the majority of things have changed for the better.

My relationship with my incredible wife has become more loving and caring, same with my children, it's not that we didn't love each other before- it's hard to explain but you just notice the little things more.

I had the great fortune to meet a lot of the folk who play on here at the MK get together, too many names to mention but one and all were really nice folk.

I try to get more involved on the forum here and some of the blogs make for excellent reading,Jac,Dohh,TK,Maca,Ger,to mention but a few, Hrry and Sam please post more - I am not allowed on facebook :)

The folk who post on my story warm the cockles of my heart and I am so grateful thank you, I have had lots of help from Phil,Tk,Stoke,Geldy, and others who post here- folk who don't know me but have shown incredible kindness.

Finally, I have won a seat to tomorrow's Suoer roller via the rewards free roll by finishing 2nd, I shall use up more than 2 seconds on my decision making just for one day :)

Good luck all and be happy x

All the best tomorrow Tom. Safe to say you'd be one of the most popular winners if you go the distance.

Who knows, if you won it you might be allowed on Facebook ;)

Sounds pretty good to me, well done Tom, as long as you enjoyed it, & gave a good account of yourself, nothing else matters really.

Echo sentiments above, I did enjoy both tournaments, got pretty tired towards the end mind , good old bank holidays come in handy for late finishes. I was on the same table in the super roller pretty much for the duration, lolufold, style and good old gerardirl who kept me amused thank goodness., then tennis bloke joined us when ger was brutally knocked out set over set, easy table :)

In the mini I had one of those horrible beats which knock the stuffing out of you, I had managed to chip up to leader of table then this happened, forgotten my position but we gii pre, me -Aa oppo AK flop nothing turn k river k.....

Got lucky with 2 double ups after that so swings and roundabouts, then the lovely rose joined our table and once again had a nice chat til my exit, of course it was Aa on button vs A stubborn K 10 who was a non believer and hit 2 pair on river :) no complaints though.

End on a moan I'm afraid, what is it with folk who have changed the word have for of? As in could of, would of in everyday sentences, please come back Slippy ( getting quite worried now joking apart, if anyone could enlighten me to what he is up to nowadays I would be most grateful)

Yeah, I would of loved to know myself. Guessing he's having a break away from Sky. Maybe that week (yes, week!) he spend in Milton Keynes this summer finished him.

Thanks for your most eloquent response Jon :) hopefully slippy will turn up soon.

My sister and her husband are coming to visit this Friday for a couple of days, really looking forward to it, she has spoken about coming on next years cruise with us- my wife and I love their company but they are more Butlins and Blackpool stag and hen do than Royal Carribean Cruise Liner lol. I may be turning posh in my old age.

Anyway I changed my poker days to last night and tomorrow to accommodate their visit, ran well last night - played 5 tournaments and cashed in 4, best finish a 2nd in my fav one , the £2 deep stack so happy days :)
