Hi to anyone who has qualified For this competition or does I the future, can you please give me a shout on any info that may come in handy, at the moment I haven't got a clue what's going on, I was not expecting this to happen and I'm a bit wary of this situation. Thanks yan Ned17

If so, support contacted me at the start of the next working week with the package details.
You will have to sign disclaimers and upload ID then the £1,000 for expenses is usually paid to you shortly afterwards.
That was my experience with Sky anyway.

Yes I have taken up the offer and have been on a few trips to the WSOP before and have been in your shoes... When I won my first package I had never even set foot in a casino.
There is no need to worry though, there will be other players going who have never been before too and the WSOP events are a mixture of amateurs, pros and online qualifiers (many in your position).
It is a great experience playing over there and something you will remember for many years to come. The Sky people all seem brilliant too and I have no doubt they will keep you right with everything.

Thanks again I've had a lot of support and good wishes from other players and know I would regret it if I didn't go, if I could take the £1000 travel money I would be stunned if I went but I can't so I should go, I was thinking about going to a Casino in Southend they have compos there to see how much I would have to drink to stop shaking lol,
absolutely brilliant. well done.
my tips to help are...
go to a local casino, practice and learn.
count the pot size every hand, every card. even when you are not involved. calculate bet sizing so that you can get a measure of what is happening.
live tells are important to disguise. but disguise everything before and after the hand. dont smile or frown when someone folds to your raise. dont ever respond to any questions. do not show your hand or even just one card.
do the same thing every time.
think about your bet size, thoroughly, before moving to count out the chips.
the funny thing is that you will laugh at how many mistakes you make. but be consoled that everyone does the same. and realise that you are just as good at playing than so many.

I can understand your nervousness, but really, there's no need to worry, what's the worst that can happen - you have a wonderful week in Las Vegas at a beautiful hotel, meet a bunch of people, have some fun with the other qualifiers, meet Neil Channing, & if the actual Tournament does not go well, so what? There will be a lot of "first time" players there, & you'll be fine.
You are 60 years of age? Fine. There may be at least one other on the trip who is considerably older than you, or so I'm told.
My first bit of advice would be to, as Markycash wrote, read the 5 "Guides to Las Vegas", which can be seen HERE
When you have done that, if you have any more questions, come on here & ask, or send me a PM & I'll reply.
Assuming you have a current machine-readable Passport, your first job is to get yourself an ESTA. It's quick, simple & cheap, & it only costs $14. DO NOT do anything until you have sorted the ESTA.

There is also a Rendezvous Casino in Southend, & in a nice link to the WSOP in Las Vegas, it is owned by Caesars Entertainment, who own The Rio, & The WSOP.
