    Remember to use the price in the LATEST COLUMN from the opening post of this thread when calculating points.

    Points Scoring System as follows (JACKPOT):

    Successfully remove a 5/1 shot or less (5 points)
    Successfully remove a 11/2 to 15/2 shot (4 points)
    Successfully remove a 8/1 to 11/1 shot (3 points)
    Successfully remove an 12/1 shot or bigger (2 points)

    If your removal wins at 12/1 or bigger (minus 10 points)
    If your removal wins at 8/1 to 11/1    (minus 8 points)
    If your removal wins at 11/2 to 15/2   (minus 6 points)
    If your removal wins at 5/1 or less     (minus 5 points)

    Opps nice one Micky, I just noticed I made a mistake with mine, I gave myself -5PTS for Castle Harbour as it was 3rd, but you are indeed correct as only the 1st and 2nd count as 7 runners.

    As I keep saying I am very new to all of this and I am watching these jackpot threads with interest. I am learning alot from all of you so thanks and wish you all the best. If I can achieve a steadier income I hope to join you in the future.

    I am finding the early season flat racing very hard to pick so I abstain alot, especially where we have very limited form from very immature 2 year olds and mostly having 1st races after a long layoff. 

    Eminent was well tipped on SL preview today and like Daban yesterday had a good chance at a nice price and both showed great acceleration up the final furlong. (NB I was on Daban but not Eminent). The Craven was on my too difficult list and I would have only backed Eminent if it was an EPR.


    I am finding all of this fascinating in the build up to the classics and I will be following those with interest.

    we had 5 winners from 6  missing out on eminent. i for 1 didnt know sporting life napped it or would of looked at it more.

    i also removed a winner which im not to happy about either.

    my placepot also blew out in the 4th.

    Hi Micky. 

    5/6 wins is very good and all of the trial attempts have come close or landed which is very impressive. My post wasn't intended to be a critique for not selecting Eminent. I was just trying to highlight how difficult this whole process is especially in the case of 3 year olds making their 1st run of the year.

    As I am not investing in the syndicate I do not think it is appropriate to influence selections and given my inexperience I wouldn't have the confidence to do so in any case. I am content playing small ball with the EPRs for the time being.

    I believe the Jackpot was "Part Won" to a 50p UNIT. So they would get £5K with any remaining pool carried over.

    I did managed to get 80p's worth of the Cheltenham Placepot.

    FYI, today was a clear example of how important this removals job is.

    FIVE PEOPLE, myself included, removed EMINENT, had it have been selected 3 or less times, it would have been in.

    No criticism, I had it as a remover too, but just to stress how important this job will be come go-live.

    I still think having BRANDO as a BANKER and a wider perm if a roll over and we may have got it. (Hypothetically of course)

    A good exercise non the less.
