Lol at some of the comments, by what are essentially railbirds, it's funny how people form opinions on others and criticise when often they should look closer to home and ask themselves how much money have I deposited and how much have I withdrawn from poker in recent years. I'm not looking to go through on fearlessness, and for what it's worth Sparce is probably the 2nd best player in the competition now. He will likely win it, as he proved himself by winning the hu challenge and the best player remaining has a very small bank roll. (at the end of the day you can't complain about how you run, everyone remembers the winners, not the losers) When I offered the challenge of course it was high risk for both of us, with 8 and 12 buy ins respectively. I was going to play sparce last night after total player but he wasn't up for it, maybe he can pm me with his diary of free dates as he has requested 2-3 hours minimum of play. Let me know your availability maybe this saturday and sunday. I'll try post time and specifics for those who wish to rail and form a critique. Posted by YIPEEYAPEE
You seem to have taken my post the wrong way. The rolls you were playing with and the limits you were playing at were obviously going to send someone bust in this challage. I genuenly meant it when i said it was a brave challange and you were fearless. I don't think your challange was well thought out but i def give you credit for to do it against the best players. Chill out and don't be so confrontational. You may prove people wrong and over time take sparce for a fortune but you always attack with unfounded statements. Had you pulled this off you would have been well positioned to win but the FACT is you didn't. Over 2 nights you didn't manage to exploit the leaks you claim to have found and you bust. No shame in it, no insult from me when i commented on it, it's just true is all. Seriously i wish you good luck because i think you have proven you'll play anyone, unfortunatly you have not proven to be gracious in defeat. - If as i'm led to beleive this will be decided on a community vote you may have needed "railbirds" on your side to go through
True Acesovers, and I didn't mean to offend you and sometimes I come across as confrontational when I don't mean to. And yes I didn't manage to fully exploit the leaks and when I did rivers came in favour of him. Ermm yes the reason I did the challenge, (and i knew 1 of us goes broke) was I felt I needed to distinguish myself from the field. If you look across the field how many players managed decent profit in phase 1 like me, it's really just the donks that didn't manage something to speak of, (James excepted) And I could have done the same in Phase 2, maybe even won a round robin or gone deep in an MTT, finish phase 2 with a roll of maybe 12 or 1300 if I did well. Would I get through? Yes, likely, would I be likely to win the competition, No, because the community already have their favourites and that's why the competition was in many ways flawed from the start. So I opted for a high risk strategy, but a better value strategy than aiming for top 3 or top 6 with good results. In my opinion people who were in a similar position to me left in the competition should follow my lead and adopt a similar strategy if they can. Blackfish not sure how much, I'd like to play him £2/4 on maybe 2 or 3 tables again even though I'm not properly rolled for it. I've kind of got a blatant disregard for money and the satisfaction from merc'ing him would likely outweigh the disappointment of going broke. didn't mean to offend anyone ever with any forum post I've ever written, I always write what I think, gl on the tables, Jac

Lets go 2/4-2/5 then. 3 tables. I have a free 2 hrs now if ur interested failing that sunday is good for me.
If you win the challenge, do you deserve to go through?
TOTAL PLAYER is the title, and the way i see it, you need to perform well across all disciplines of mtt, cash, sit and goes and heads up. u need to be able to demonstrate the different skills and techniques required in the different specialist fields. So if you can demonstrate these skills consistently throughout the phases, people will notice and you would gain the respect that you obviously crave.
The winning player will gain entry into large mtt's, so surely demonstrating a good mtt game would help your cause more than playing solely heads up?
There is no doubt that sparce is a heads up specialist, he is the best on the site in this discipline. The quicker you realise that he has a significant edge over you the better.
IMO one of the hardest things to do is admit when someone is better than you. Once you realise there will always be people better than you, you will become a better player for it.
I admire your courage and theres no doubt you are a good player, but if you always play people better than you, and cant admit you are at a dissadvantage, you are destined to lose.
And to call others in the competition 'DONKS' is sooo disrespectful! And to then to say, 'oh i dont mean to offend anyone!' That doesnt cut it for me.
Being a good poker player and to be successful in this competition requires etiquette away from the tables. You will be representing sky poker and the community if you win, so you have a responsibility to act in a responsible and proffessional manner imo.
I hope i dont come accross as a **** but its just my opinion.

James is a massive tanning salon donk obv!!!
A total player would surely have a combination of skills including game selection, an understanding of variance, bank roll management and the ability to physically play good poker. Thinking that the size of a TP players bank roll will give an indication to how well they played over a period of less than a few weeks is a sure indication of lack of experience and especially a lack of understanding.
I don't see how the initial bravado, then bragging about withdrawals can then equate to I don't have enough to move up to the stakes you play yet you then still seek to lock down a nice long and deep stacked session. Announcing that you're a bit of a gambler is a sure fire way not to get people to buy you into a tournament, if you cant control yourself with your own money how would you with someone elses?

I love slow-mo car crashes. Seriosly though yipee, yr lack of respect for anyone is so extreme it's funny. I'm not sure if it's actually you, or a persona yr using for TP...... if the latter i would strongly recommend reigning it in as it's not just yr TP roll at stake. If you read between the lines of the above posts and took in some advice you might learn something. Instead, you're of the opinion (whether it's yr own or one that you've been advised to use) that bravado and chest puffing will see you succeed and that you have nothing to learn because you are already the greatest (lol.) Whilst short term this can sometimes work out well, over time you will end up sat on your bum with an empty wallet. Nobody said yr a bad player or a donk lol and tbh, i think most people are trying to watch your back for you as you clearly don't see reason to.
I wish you all the luck in the world playing Sparce HU and hope you eventually prove to everyone that you are the best player at Sky before you go busto.

Btw i was asking how much you have withdrawn and deposited? Tbh i think your plan was pretty good... according to Dantb10 Sparce is the best HU cash player... so if you beat the best HU cash player then you will get a LOT of credit... you recognised you had nothing to lose because you know you are obviously not a community favourite and so I think your strategy was pretty sound, rather than make like top 6 or something as you say. However... you could of tried to become a community favourite? Played normally across the disciplines whilst becoming a real community guy.
Sweet, thanks cottlad, I wish me luck to To Dantb's post, I agree you need to perform well across all disciplines but for me to give myself the edge to be selected by viewers I did what I did for the reasons mentioned in my previous post. Next point, It's good to play players who are better than you to improve, but I don't even know if Sparce is better, I just want to merc him so bad. To Beaneh's post, my total payer competition is already over, I couldn't care about your votes, the rail are fickle anyway, they'll love me if I beat sparce. And incidentally I asked my mentor if I could flip my remaining £300 on roulette so I'd at least have 6buy ins to play Sparce on day 2, but he said I'd get disqualified which kind of sucked. Sparce going for food now, maybe sunday sounds good.
I agree about playing better players to improve, but to do it with 8 buy ins split on 3 tables when your in a competition that includes showing good brm?

That would be interesting for the sky poker books. goes down as a fail for the poker as they lost money giving it to tp'ers, and it get puts into another departments books - the casino!

I've given you helpful advice not threatened to not vote for you lol. Just as an aside if you play Sparce for 10 minutes and end up winning money, are you better than him? What if you ran well over ev are you still better?

Imo you should have been disqualified for stupidity in just asking. The more you reply the more you sound like a prize plonker.
Andy sorry Sparce I couldn't help but post my first reply, and from seeing the reactions he's given I think your action is ok. I'd suggest you buy some plugs though, you've got leaks.............
